Perfect sized mini suv

Recently purchased a Taos in the base trim (S). Even in base form it comes with carplay and the same powertrain as upper trims. It’s easy to drive, easy to get in and out, gets fantastic mpg and it’s very quiet. It is by far the most refined in this “tween” segment and directly competes with the trailblazer and seltos. The wheels on the base are my favorite and I hate camera inclusive windshields on upper trims. I don’t like drivers assistance features so the base fit the bill for me. The Taos also comes with awesome stock tires which is rare. The Bridgestone Turanza’s cut through puddles with no drama , and roll super quiet and smooth. The only thing I would like in addition would be a leather wrapped steering wheel.

Too dangerous to drive

I purchased a 2022 VW Taos for my daughter in July, 2021. In August 2021 I received a recall notice that told me to take my vehicle to the dealer immediately. The dealer informed me that I had a leaking fuel line, and the the vehicle was too dangerous to drive since leaking fuel could cause it to explode at any moment. The dealer impounded my car, and after 2 weeks is still waiting for the parts to repair it. Evidently the parts are coming from China, and no one knows when they will arrive. No loaner or rental car was offered. So I am now paying $300/month for a car that I do not have. It is very unsettling to think that I put my daughter in a car that according to the dealer's service manager, could explode at any moment.

I recently traded in my 2017 Honda HR-V in "Base" Trim with 67K miles on a new Taos. Getting $15.800 for my trade with "No'Dealer fees and another $1,000 discount, not bad for a 6 year old Vehicle that I originally paid $20.500 for? Getting back to the Taos. I completely disagree with the so called "experts" claim the so called sweet spot is the SE Trim, wrong. An upgraded Radio, heated exterior mirror, and fake vinyl/cloth interior and the same base digital cockpit? The S Model at $24,000 plus an extra $1000 for the IQ and Convenience Package is the best value. I've only had the Vehicle 2 weeks but so far, I love it. Not even broken in yet and getting an average of 33 mpg city/hwy with the FWD. Plenty of room, jack & spare tire, and reasonable pick up too. Was between Dust Blue and Black, Black won. No tinted privacy glass with Base S but 3M Color Stable Film installed for $150. UPDATE: One year and 16K driven and so far, the absolute best Small SUV I've ever owned. My first VW Vehicle and I am very impressed. Under 25K and little fault to find. Yeah, the pathetic Bicycle Horn has to go, (maybe in `23?) The Rear Hatch needs a Power closure button, not much else. I was so impressed by this Taos in "S" Trim in Black. At 25K with added Safety IQ package, a real bargain. I just took deliver of its first cousin a `22 Audi Q3 that I special ordered in Feb and it arrived from Hungry last week. Very similar Vehicles but almost twice the price with a lot of upscale luxury trim.

Trash car

I had this car (2022 Taos) approximately 6 months, I loved this car until I like many other owners got the recall notice . I took the car to the dealership to get it looked at. Shortly after I left the check engine light came on, I returned the car and they gave me a loaner. 2 days later they called me told me my car is safe to drive with the engine light on and needs a couple parts on back order. Part one a leak detection pump , part two pressure regulator valve. So now I am told to bring the loaner car back and drive my car while waiting for parts with the check engine light on. This is ridiculous a brand new car that was perfect and I loved turned into a unsafe trash car. Makes me sick to think I will be driving a new car I paid so much for only to have a check engine light on and waiting for parts for who knows how long.

I got my taos 4 months ago.. I got it with a rat stuck in dashboard complained to dealer was told i was crazy... The radio goes black or freezes randomly, you can hear clicking under steering wheel where feet are, the display changes by itself and u cant change it bc it freezes, got stuck at walmart for over 5 minutes bc it says cant find my key even though i had the key in front of the dashboard waving it around for over 5 minutes looking like a crackhead, had a few times says the rearview camera currently unavailable, had it turn off a few times at lights had to manually restart, replace the emission valve and pump due to failure, really bouncy and noise when driving, now my one rear brake on passenger side is completely gone and rotor is messed up and the dealership is blaming me telling me its unsafe to drive and wants me to sign a waiver to get vehicle back and tells me their is over 400 ppl waiting for them.... The transmission is very jerky
