For less than $23000 excellent built quality, great looking, superb interior materials. perfectly ballanced ride comfortable but with little body role, outstanding safety features (active restrain seat belts, side and head curtain airbags, esp), excellent performance considering the 1.8T economy engine giving highway milage of 32+ and suburban mileage of 26+. This is the best car I have owned so far. In my opinion the best value among wagons and family cars seating 5 currently available

I traded a 2001 Dodge Durango (gas hog) for a 2005 Volkswagen Passat GLS TDI. I had the Durango for four years. I negotiated the drive-out price on the Passat to mid $24K on last day of month. The torque and cabin layout are excellent! The dealership had only 2 other TDI GLS's on the lot; I got the Gray with ESP.

I bought my car a few months ago and I think its the best investment I have ever made! This car is so easy to handle, has great power, comfortable, especially on long trips, great gas miles, and very good looking! Also very roomy inside. I love all the features. VW did a great job on this one! I love my car!

Step up from my Outback

My 2001 Outback with 95,000 miles averaged 25 mpg, althought the Passat does not have all wheel drive both vehicles are esencially the same size. The Passat averages 36-37 mpg overall. The Passat just hums along, yet has plenty of accerlation with the turbo. Much better ventilation than the Outback. Seats and adjustments are way out from the Outback, especially legroom and right seat comfort. Currently at 6500 miles, will see what the next 100,000 or so tell us.

This the best and most fun car I have ever driven in my 20+ years of driving. It has lots of power and handles very well. A lot of room inside, able to seat 2 grown ups and a large child seat in the back very comfortablely. Over all just a fun car to drive. I highly recommend the Passat to anyone with a family and still wants to ride in style!
