Used 2002 Volkswagen Passat Consumer Reviews
So far, so good!
Purchased mid-Sept '02. Very nice handling sedan with adequate power (Tip makes it sluggish from a stop, unless you boot it) and good brakes. I'm hoping that VW will soon resolve the issue of the failing ignition coil packs....don't like the thought that one or more could fail while doing highway speeds with an 18 wheeler on my tail!
12,000 mi Review
One year and 12,000 later and not a problem. Based on some of the reviews I have read - I am waiting for something happen. Overall, car is fun to drive, good fuel economy (avg. 27- 29mpg), looks great inside and out. Recommend getting the 'Monster mats' for the floor and tint the windows - both have saved my interior.

Great car!
I love my Passat. It handles very well and it is comfortable and roomy inside. The interior is beautiful. It has a lot of little things: the rear view mirrors go down when you're backing up (and they're heated!); there are 3 garage door buttons; the driver's seat has memory; the windsheild wipers "know" when it's raining... the list goes on.
SUPER ALTERNATIVE TO SUV
LOADS LIKE AN SUV, HANDLES LIKE A SPORT CAR, STAY AWAY FROM LIGHT CLOTH COLORS
NOT TO FOND
THE CAR IS JUST SIMPLY NO WORTH THE MONEY, FOR THE PRICE OF THIS CAR I WOULD MUCH RATHER DRIVE A MERCEDES OR BMW. BUILD QUALITY IS POOR
