Good Looking Comfy SUV will be my last vw

2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SE w/Technology 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 8A)

Purchased new with 35 miles. Currently 14k, and has already leaked oil twice, turns off when in reverse(dealer applied update hopefully this fixes it), and just little quality issues(sunvisor screw fell out dealer had to order special part) and the audio system leaves a lot to be desired. However this is a super comfy suv. I can drive for 8 hours until the seats start to get uncomfortable, its ride quality is excellent, and is super quiet going down the road. I chose the v6 over the new for 24 4 cylinder because it’s much smoother and has a proven reliability record. This will be my first and last vw until they make them a little better and will buy something from a more reputable brand.

Cannot speak for reliability yet. Have owned vehicle for one week and could not be more impressed. I find base model to be all that I need. Great acceleration, spacious seating for 4, averaging 24mpg mixed driving, manageable tech. And vehicle looks really cool inside and out. One downside is biggest suv I have ever owned and challenge to park in tight spaces. But overall strong performance and great value for dollar.

Bargain priced Q8 Luxury

2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

The Atlas Cross Sport premium R line SEL has every option you could need/use, and it doesn’t really need anything more, We are one year into our third VW, having had and EOS and a CC. The only recall was an over the air upgrade to the infotainment system.First service (included) was uneventful. The technology, I drive, parking assist, 360 camera all are great features. The car play app can be frustrating..it is too smart..and will sync more than one phone at a time,

WHY DID I BUY VW AGAIN!!!!

My wife and I decided to downsize to one vehicle to save money and reduce unnecessary driving. After considering several SUVs, we chose the VW Atlas Cross Sport. Initially, we were impressed with the "beautiful and very solid vehicle" and its "lovely" V-Tex interior, which I preferred over leather. However, problems began quickly, with multiple issues arising within the first 400 miles. The passenger rear window "refuses to close" without repeated attempts, there was an exhaust shield rattle due to improper installation, and the car struggled to start—sometimes requiring "15 or so" presses of the start button. The auto stop-start feature failed at a traffic light, and a new rattle developed in the rear door. With these problems so early on, I regretted switching from my reliable Subaru, as I’ve never had such issues in my 33 years of driving. After the initial car was replaced with the same model, the second Cross Sport was "a nightmare right out of the gate." The front bumper was damaged and poorly covered with touch-up paint, which cost me $1,800 to fix properly. Other issues followed: the driver's window was scratched, parking sensors failed, windows malfunctioned, the infotainment system frequently froze, the console cover broke twice, and the headlights, which have been replaced multiple times, "DO NOT calibrate." Additionally, the backup camera and headlight control module needed replacing. With two cars in 10 months and a long list of recurring problems, I believe VW needs to take a hard look at their production and quality control processes. I don't want to spend every week at the dealership for repairs, which is "a problem" for any consumer.

Uncomfortable Forces Distracted Driving

Lacks firm lumbar support and instead of keeping eyes on the road they're on the infotainment system fidgeting with the radio and climate controls. Assist systems are a disappointment. Hard to stay smack dab in the middle of a lane when looking at a screen so often which would be unnecessary if good old-fashioined knobs and other intuitive and sensible and safe controls were available. Went too far patterning this car after one that is autonomous - if such a concept will every be safe. The Tiguan is attractive and a cut above the rest aesthetically and was comfortable and easy to drive before it became futuristic. The Cross Sport is scarcely distinguishable from the other mid-sized SUVs. Doesn't squarely fit into SUV category anymore with the reduced 6.3" ground clearance down from 8". The Tiguan has more. Rear space on the Cross Sport is nice but that doesn't help with driving. It's nuts having to scroll through menus while driving. This is it for me with the VW. Back to the drawing board to revisit all other brands. There's a constant draft coming from the always-open footwell passage on the driver's right side that can't be managed. This adds to the discomfort and constant adjustment of temps and settings. Only one setting that keeps the A/C off - in the winter no less. The 2024 Cross Sport is the worst car I ever sat in. Anxious for offers to buy out my lease.
