First impressions is this car is solid, inviting, fast and there’s really nothing quite like it on the road right now which is why I purchased it. The car is capable, meaning it handles well, is responsive and also a pleasure to drive on the highway. The SEL-P is the way to go as the AWD and sound system performs well. All in all this car is a great value as compared to the A7 or Stinger and fun to drive.

After having had my Arteon for a year, I love this car. The only thing I don’t love about it is the 20” rims. They cause you to feel every crack in the road. True, they look amazing, but if I were buying the car again, I would opt to not get that feature. The bumpiness of the 20” rims can be thwarted by using the comfort suspension feature, but it’s still not something that is absolutely necessary. The only issue I’ve had with it is in the radiator. Volkswagen put the coolant sensor too high, so I have to overfill it a bit to make the car think it has enough coolant. Other than that, I love this car. It’s fast (faster than my ‘94 Firebird), handles very well, and gets great gas mileage. It’s my empty-nester car and my daily driver. I’m sorry they’ve stopped making them as I love this car.

Only a couple of cons on my Arteon
Pleasantly surprised that Arteon handles similar to my Golf. However not so pleased at the turbo lag during initial acceleration. One other issue is the lack of an engine cover. Makes the engine compartment look incomplete or maybe VW was cutting cost and expected buyers to purchase cover on aftermarket.

Amazing all round package
I had been looking at the Arteon from the time that they first were released in the USA. When the revised 2022 was released, it also came with a higher price so passed again. Two weeks ago, I was finally able to find a purchase a 2023 SEL Premium R type with just over 2500 miles on it. I traded in a 2022 Subaru Outback as I wanted a vehicle that I could enjoy driving and I honestly really enjoy every moment I have had in the Arteon.
