Amazing Power
This truck is fun to drive. I spent extra money for the hybrid when it was finally available and have no regrets. It passes vehicles on the road and climbs hills so effortlessly as if there's a much bigger engine under the hood. Much peppier than that old V6. It feels as if I am driving a bigger truck too. One drawback is there is not a lot of rear seat room for people with long legs but that was not one of my requirements. I just drive alone about 90% of the time and I never tow anything.

Avoid it.
Power and looks are the upside. Gas mileage is poor, reliability has been bad, and it's noisy.

I really enjoy the driving performance of the Toyota Tacoma in the engine has a nice fluid acceleration. They could’ve been beefier with the hybrid and I absolutely hate the Toyota CarPlay. It is the biggest pile of crap ever. Worst CarPlay of any vehicle. It drives me nuts every time I drive it. How could they have messed up something so simple when you try to listen to or send a text or respond to a text, it doesn’t turn the music down. So you can’t hear what the text says you can’t get a recap on what you’ve stated it’s totally utterly useless and there doesn’t appear to be any sensible way to fix it. Toyota should be ashamed of themselves.
