Great Truck
I saw a picture and description of the X-Runner in Car & Driver magazine. I liked what I saw - a sharp looking, performance oriented truck with a sports car handling package and a 6-speed manual transmission with ground effects to round out the package. All this and Toyota quality. Also, the interior is excellent including controls, gauges and comfort. Seats are great, stereo system excellent as well. Exterior fit and finish (desert sand pearl) are of the best quality I have seen. Before I purchased this truck I questioned quite a few Tacoma owners and all had positive comments. Thanks for a great truck
Great Buy...
This is my 4th Toyota, and 2nd Toyota truck. The ride is comfortable like an F150, but with better build quality. Rides nice & high, similar to a medium to full size truck. Excellent interior design and ergo. Bold exterior looks. The auto trans searches for gears at low speeds (not too noticeable), but the gas mileage has been predictable - 20mpg combined city/hwy. Plenty of power in the 236hp V6. Lots of leg room in the front & not bad in the back. Lots of great standard features on the SR5 pckg. Overall, this truck is worth the money... and I expect the same great quality that I've gotten in the past from my other Toyotas. I'm a satisfied buyer!

Killer Truck
I bought a new '06 in January. I am very impressed, it is my first Toyota. It is so smooth and easy to drive on the highway. At low speeds 50-60 mph it gets awesome gas mileage. I turn heads everywhere. It sounds good and performs excellent. I like how the oil filter is mounted on the top of the engine for easy removal. It wakes up when I ask it to.
Good reliable lightweight hauler
My '92 truck was maintenance free for 175,000 miles except for a radiator replacement. My '06 is nice to drive and has so far been reliable with 30,000 miles on it. I have had problems with my clutch squeaking, not a maintenance issue, but horribly annoying all the same. I will be taking it in again for another clutch repair. It is still under warranty. The annoying part is that I will have to deal with this again in the future when it is not under warranty. The 4 cylinder manual is peppy and responsive. I like the good gas mileage for a truck this size. Watch out for the sliding rear window. I accidentally broke mine and it was going to cost over $800 to replace, a major Toyota ripoff. Mine now has plexiglass, a total repair cost of $15.
Craig's truck
This truck has all the power you will need. The brakes are spongy and the clutch takes getting used to. Otherwise, this truck is typical Toyota quality.
