Proud of it!
I love my not-so-little red truck! Gas mileage is excellent! Never been under 24 for me, and sometimes is as high as 28. The 4 cyl has plenty of power as well. 4WD is easy to engage and provides extra pull in 4 low. The composite bed is an improvement. Plenty of space on the interior, even for me at 6'2" 230 lbs. This is a great buy for the price, assuming that it is as reliable as a Toyota should be.
4x2 Base Access Cab 4A
16,000 miles in 6 months, no problems. Ride is a bit jarring at lower speeds over potholes, etc. Smooths out on freeway, you can go all day. Get 25-28 mpg on freeway, not much lower on two-lane roads. Decent stereo. I do not tow or haul, so can't comment on how this 4-banger handles that.

THIS IS ONE THE BEST SPORT TRUCKS!!!
One word sums it up the best...AWSOME! The powertrain...to the handling...build quaulity is just superior to any other trucks out there. I used to be a Nissan truck guy (a very devoted Nissan fan in fact) so don't think that I'm a salesman for Toyota and gloating the X Runner. This is a Good SOLID sport truck and I would recomend it to anyone who want an alternative to the SRT10 Ram.
Great Reliable Truck
Great truck all around. I drive 20K per year through mountain roads in Puerto Rico and currently have 65K. I had one minor leak with the power steering fluid that was covered by warranty. Other than that, the temperature/compass display was damaged a month ago is not covered by the extended warranty I purchased! It's a great solid truck. Very reliable and lots of aftermarket goodies to customize it and make it your own. I have performed all tune-ups at the dealer and have never been strained on the road. The average MPGs are 17.8 with a best of 20.7 and a worst of 16.7.
Great truck
It is the first vehicle I ever bought new and it was well worth it. The car I drove before it was a Toyota Echo, so fuel economy is worse, but comfort is well worth it. It was a good buy, and I would recommend it to anyone.
