This car is everything I expected and more. I get 50 miles to the gallon on the highway and about 46 or 47 in city driving and I love everything about it.

My husband and I have crossed the USA from Georgia to British Columbia with 2 dogs and have found no problems with the car (round trip 2 times). The cost of fuel is minimal compared to the SUV I had before.

Economical and fun!

We've only driven the Prius for 5000 miles, but love it more every day. We chose option pkg 4 to get the safety items. Now that the weather is getting warmer in Pittsburgh and the car is getting broken in, we're averaging 48 in combined (congested) suburban/ highway driving. Our only concern is the FWD in our winters, but we kept a Subaru as a snow car.

Smartest and Most Impulsive Decision

My Pree, 10/24/2005

I am absolutely in love with my white Prius. It was an impulsive buy on my part. While other dealerships are running wait lists of over a month for the Prius, I found my car sitting in the dealership lot. Within 24 hours, I traded in my 3-year old VW Golf that was giving me more headaches for a brand new Prius. I drove away very happy with my impulsive buy. I am still in awe with my car after 3 weeks!

I am going to Home Depot to get my weekly supply for my projects on my Prius. I am not driving my Toyota SUV at all. The Prius is perfect to go to work on San Diego roads and large freeways. Perfect to go to school and the supermarket. Now I go to Home Depot or other home centers for maintenance type of goods without thinking about a lot of room for shopping. This is like been in Europe again. We do not need a large vehicle to do your every day routine. Americans move on. Hybrids is the only solution at this time and for a while. Sorry Detroit for been so stupid again!! Tell me about any other type of vehicle that turns the engine off when you are waiting at the traffic light?
