Used 2005 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
Saves money without sacrifice
After doing extensive research we dedided to get the 2005 Prius. Now everyone we take for a drive wants one! It is fantastic! We get a minimum of 40MPG with A/C running all the time. Very comfortable, smooth ride, quiet and spacious. Everyone is very impressed with it.
Love my Prius
I've become the local Prius ambassador because I'm so happy to tell EVERYONE about my fantastic experience. And people WILL ask you. The styling, the roominess, the storage, the MILEAGE; it's all good.

Happy with my Prius!
The Prius was bought to replace a BMW 3 series wagon. Its a leap foward compared to the BMW. Things that I didn't think I needed in this car, like the display, has changed my driving and attitude. I now look at other drivers driving like I used to, and wonder what is the big rush. It's not like the Prius doesn't have enought power but it is not necessary to accelerate up to the car in front or to a red light. This kind of driving just isn't necessary and wasteful. Most of the time I am accelerating faster than most of the cars on the road to get to my cruising speed and can't understand articles critizing its power to accelerate fast enough. Try one and you will be a believer!
Great Vehicle
Toyota has built a great vehicle that is practical, comfortable, and fun to drive. The navigational system is a huge time saver for those who travel quite a bit. The NAV sys. is also suprisingly accurate. Mileage is very good at about 51-54 MPG based on about 50/50 city/HWY driving. The computer tracks mileage at 47-49 mile, however, when checking it at fill-ups it is higher. This is due to the computer mpg max's at 99.9 mpg when coasting or using the electric motor. As far as power goes, this car has plenty of torque to get you up to speed quickly. The reviews say the controls are hard to use. Not really, but you have to take a little time than standard cars to get to know them.
Fun To Drive
I consistently get over 50 miles per gallon and my driving is 90% highway. It's a fun car to drive and I use the GPS system extensively. I have never had a problem with it and fill up once per week. I have tried regular gas and 87 octane and have found no difference in mileage so I returned to the use of regular. Based on my current experience, I will probably continue to buying hybrids in the future and not return to pure gasoline vehicles. Based on the difference between my old Avalon and the Prius and the number of miles I drive, I'm saving $1,100 to $1,200 per year based on fluctuating gas prices plus the tax deduction. Next year, I will have my difference in price back.
