Used 2005 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
1 complaint
I love everything about this car but 1 thing. Everything scratches / stains really easily. My pin strip is pealing off a little but toyota will fix it for free. I have a couple scratches in my glove box already and the floor mats soak up dirt like no tomorrow. I can over look it though because other than that it is completely outstanding!
No better technology out there.
I've owned a 2005 for only a month. I am still amazed at the technology that Toyota has designed into this car. It's also fun to drive. My second car is a convertible sports car, and I must say that most often, it's difficult deciding which one to take out.

Best car on the market
This is the best car I have ever owned!!! It was worth the 6 month wait to get it. It does not, however, get 60 city and 51 highway. I am getting between 47-51 mpg but I am plenty happy with that. I was surprised at the pickup for this hybrid. We got the total package with all the bells and whistles to include the navigator. Well worth the money and the wait. If GM doesn't get with this program then they are truly being run by dinosaurs. I never thought I would own anything but an American car but they simply cannot compare with the Toyota.
2005 Toyota Prius
This vehicle has exceeded my expectations. Fuel economy is better than I expected (52-54 MPG) considering driving in an often hilly terrain. Quiet and smooth ride. Love the tech innovations. The Consumption display has changed how I drive. In a world where we are faced with issues of pollution and global warming, and reliance on fossil fuels and the related political implications of oil influencing our foreign policy, this car is a great alternative for a better world. Therefore, to me it is so worth spending thousands more for a company like Toyota to reward them for all the developmental costs they put into hybrid technology.
Drove cross country
I was surprised at how quick it it. I sold my Mercedes SL 500 and was expexting to really miss it. The Toyota Prius made that transition easy. I got about 34 MPG at 90 MPH and 38 MPG at 75 MPH and loved the way it handles. It has a very small turning circle, has plenty storage space and holds quite some luggage. I can't wait to see a larger car with this milage. Bottom line: I love this car, it's the most fun I have had driving and feeling good about it.
