Used 2005 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
Prius Rocks!
I own two Prius' - version 1 and version 2. I average 55MPG during the non-AC season in Florida and 49MPG during the worst of summer. The best thing about my Prius is I can run all day on the Interstate and get 45MPG at 75-80 MPH! After Hurricane Dennis we drove nearly 3 weeks on a tank of gas while everyone else waited in huge lines. My wife's version 1 car actually gets 57MPG with 69,000 miles on it. I have 2 complaints; the difference between EPA mileage estimates and reality, and this car does not do well on short trips. It needs about 3 miles to max out the battery charge which kills MPG on those 7-11 runs.
Unbelieveable
I've had 17 vehicles so far at the age of 28. From 1967 to 2004 and chevy to toyota this car is quite impressive. At first you may be taken by the overall exterior design, but once you get in this car everything changes. Its like a computer on wheels and has every accessory you'll ever need. The interactive display is amazing with the navigation and integrated phone system. Plus the added bonus of seeing what engine is running and what MPG your getting at any specific point in time while your driving. Its interesting to know that your gas engine is off whenever your coasting, braking, or in stop and go traffic. You have got to test drive this car to get the feel of it.I guarantee you'll buy

Earth friendly
I have owned Honda, Nissan,Toyota and American made cars. The Prius far surpasses all these. I had two wait 6 months for the car. It was worth the wait. Gas mileage and room are excellent.
Great Car!
I have had my Prius for about 6 months and I am nothing but pleased. I have not found that it has less power than other sedans because of the high amount of torque, I can burn rubber just about any time if I really wanted to do so. Also, in terms of the real-world driving, it is on par with 90% of cars that real world only get about 80-90% of the estimates. It just seems to be bigger because you see a bigger difference in 20% of 60 than 20% of 30. My lifetime MPG is slightly over 45, but this is from driving less than five minutes during colder temps. When we have done 20 min trips or longer, we average 50-55 mpg. I would buy another if I could afford it!
Prius 2005
Well it has been almost a month and over 1000 miles. My main concern is the drastic difference in MPG. I am getting low 40's a significant deviation from the touted 51/60. Acceleration off the line is lousy, but when you want to pass on the freeway you can easily, even up hills. Regarding the exterior it would be nice if the antenna wasn't sticking up like gazelle with only one horn. It would make putting a car cover on a nightmare. Inside, there is legroom galore. Seating for 5 and cupholders for 4 is a bit odd, but oh well. It would be nice if you could sit two in the back with the small side folded down but no.
