Used 2019 Toyota Highlander Consumer Reviews
A year later
I can't help but notice we are in February, 2020 and Toyota is still advertising the 2019 model. So, I'm 13 months into this vehicle and discovered the tires designed for/with it wont stop in snow, so I had to buy (for $1k) a whole new [Michelin] set - which work great, BTW. My single most common complaint still surround the electronics. The Nav system is for crap and, to connect my Iphone's Gooogle Maps app [sound only] and its phone function to the car's speakers, I have to quickly double tap the START button followed by the brake/press start function. So, for long trips, I just reconnect my Garmin. Of course the car's clock is still disengaged from the infotainment systems clock app, et al. After 13k miles, my mpg performance still falls short of posted EPA data by 20%. My service manager still just shakes his head and tells me there may be a software update in the future.

Audio / Navi System broke after 1000 miles
I bought XLE trim and the audio and navigation system went completely off after a little over 1000 miles and two months after I purchased this car. Very disappointed at this. I would not recommend this car.

Toyota Loyalty and Dealership Support
It is great if you are a Toyota customer and buying a new vehicle and showing Toyota loyalty because of the tremendous value proposition you have realized from your earlier vehicle(s). If not, let me share with you that this is our 3rd model/generation Toyota and we are loyal Toyota customers. We do shop and compare but have always found the value obtained with a Toyota hard to beat. Camery, Sienna and Highlander models have served our family with significant miles driven (by best estimate over 650,000 miles with our 08 Highlander supporting us with 303,568 miles at trade-in for our 2019 model. Toyota Dealership Service has been excellent no matter if in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and Florida where we have had service completed on our vehicles. Always completed with quality and competency no matter what the level. This has made us a loyal customer to the Toyota Brand. Our most recent experience with Pohanka Toyota of Salisbury was AAA+ from the Sales staff, Finance team and service team who readied our new Highlander.

2019 Highlander
We are so sorry to have spent so much money on a car that we were planning to drive for maybe the rest of our lives. What a let down. We are one issue a way from doing Lemon Law and are undecided if we want it or not. We first contacted our dealer regarding wind noise and they said they couldn’t do a thing since there had not been any recalls, We then contacted Toyota and two gentlemen confirmed the same thing and were not willing to help whatsoever; just said it was due to the large mirrors, I am sorry but we refuse to take that answer, We traded our 2013 GMC In on the Highlander and it had the large mirrors and not even close to the wind noise our new Highlander has. Driving on the interstate at 70 MPH is like driving with a window down and extremely annoying. The ride is great but with the wind noise it erases the comfortable ride. We had some other issues that have been quite aggravating and won’t go into them except to say the sales manager offended us deeply without apology and the GM actually wanted to do a buy back with us. However, all the problems were Toyota’s fault and our car only had 3,800 miles on it and he wanted $5,000 difference. What does he think we are; stupid! Wrong! and every person we have talked to said we should be highly offended by this offer and of course, we were and are. Needless to say, Toyota has let us down in every step of the way.
