Used 2019 Toyota Highlander Consumer Reviews
Radio and navigation worthless
Radio and navigation suddenly turn off. Can’t use navigation because you never know when it will turn off. Also, recently noticed when it turns off the “compass” turns off too. Totally worthless! 2014 model xle

2019 LE AWD
Great car! In our Golden Years and not tech savvy the LE is perfect. More crap is just more to go wrong. We use our phone for navigation, and hate leather seats, and love keyed ignition. Car has been flawless. I had the dealer add fog lights in the deal. We love this car, which is now our only car trading a 2010 Tacoma, and 2015 RAV4 Limited which was garbage, and rode like my dad’s 1937 International pickup!

Best vehicle ever
I have owned every type of vehicle and this by far is my favorite. I replaced a two year old 4 runner with the highlander and I love it. The ride is comfortable. The features are great. The height is easier to get in and out. The hands free system works well. I have no complaints. Seriously I love this suv.

Navigational System Update
Purchased a new 2019 Highlander Limited Platinum in May and soon realized that the voice commands for the nav system did not work. Read all the consumer complaints I could find and also called Toyota. Finally scheduled a service and talked with the head tech at the dealership and provided him with all info I researched. He replaced the SOP amplifier and now it works. Will keep you updated if the fix works for an extended period of time. Nav system is still working great!! Nav System is still working great!! No problems whatsoever. Great car fantastic reliability

Toyota Needs to Improve the 2019 Highlander!
Recently, purchased a '19 Highlander Limited. Some things I wished I had checked out, first. The Hood is VERY HEAVY to raise. Especially for many women and senior citizens. The better half could not even raise the hood to check under it, if smoke was pouring out, etc. TOYOTA COULD AND SHOULD HAVE INSTALLED LIFT SUPPORT STRUTS FOR THE HOOD. If that hood fell down on someone working under it, it would KILL them. Many other models do, like Kia for one. The infotainment screen is not as up to date as my older sienna van. In the Van, you can have the digital speedometer in the MID screen along with the showing the miles to go on you gas tank, gas mileage, etc. That is one of the many things I have discovered lagging on the Highlander. Maybe, my update it...at a future date. Still working on the Nav. etc and trying to get it to work correctly. I like the seats, but it could use more adjustments, like raising them up more as in height. The tray under the dash is great...but it needs to be a surface that things do not slide all over the place as you go down the road. Your phone is way across the other side of the SUV, out of your reach - when you need it. Everything slides on it. I like that the rear deck lid has a back window that you can open separately. That goes away in 2020, I am told. It still has a locking fuel door on the gas tank, unlike the 4runner. The doors open wide so you can put in child car seat for kids and handicapped individual can get into the second row. The ground clearance is good...I drive over dirt roads sometimes. Told that the 2020 is lower. The oil filter is easy to change - it has a cartridge filter - which I like better than canister filters. The v6 engine has enough pep for me... the gas mileage is still to be determined.. so far, my results are lower than currently advertised. I will take it on a trip and see what the results are. I find it hard to see you gas mileage on the infotainment system. Oh, It has a CD player...last of its kind, I think. It has roll up sun screens on the 2nd row side windows... which help those passengers. Gotta tint the windows and sun roof and deck window... to cut down on the heat. Also, keeps the window glass intact if you have an accident that breaks them. Glass does not go flying around inside the vehicle.
