I hope you like service department!!!!!
Since I've had my GTS model it has been nothing but headache. Bought the car on past reliability of the Celica's history. So far I have had the moonroof, driver and passenger seats, motor, clutch, headlamp, assembly,alternator(2 times),airbox assembly, the full fuel system and the belt tensoner pully. becuase of this I will never buy a Toyota again.good luck to all that have them.
Great overall vehicle
Purchased this car exactly one year ago used with only 3,000 miles. It is the GTS model with the 6 speed manual. I love the looks both inside and out. The hatchback is a very useful feature not found on many cars. Handling is superb and steering precise. But the O.E.M. tires are not all season and wear very fast. Performance is great along with fuel economy. Shifter is smooth most of time. Stereo is remarkably good with great bass! Had no problems yet.

Not too bad...
I bought this car used with TONZ on miles. 160,000. They said it had been rebuilt. NOPE. Car ran great with miles, even put up with me building it, turbocharging it, and street racing, all the way up to 160mph. These cars motors are great, they make a little clatter cause of the VVTI-L, but otherwise a great handling vehicle. Try taking a corner at 30mph, drop a low gear and floor it out of the corner. Whew.. the car will make you smile. AMAZING performance with turbo. Enough said. Great little car, not quite fast enough acceleration to be a race car, but it did okay with builds. The car has 170,000 miles on it today, and still stands up and shouts with the best. I give it a 8 out of 10.
Great car
I have owned my celica for almost a year now with no complaints. The look of the car is like no other almost like an exotic look. Performance is great but only after 6200 rpm when the "lift" hits as Toyota calls it with its variable valve timing. Handling is great even better when you put aftermarket springs in the bring the car a little lower.
Learned to love it!
I was shamed by my sister into replacing my gas guzzling Jeep Grand Cherokee for my new daily commute when I moved in with her. I missed the noise and drama of my old car, but began to appreciate the precise handling and economy, after choosing it for it's safety rating. I tend to have a lead foot, so it helped me enjoy driving with finesse and agility. Keep away from the z rated tires (too noisy) and learn how not to bottom out, and it will serve you well. I really learned to love it.
