Cracked leather seat not covered by warranty

Bought a brand new Toyota Camry XLE 2017 with leather seats. Within the first 2 years at around 25K miles started noticing that the drivers side leather seat was cracking right along the stitching. Took it to the dealership and they took pictures and sent them to factory. Was told they would call back. Never heard from them for a week so called back and the dealership (Nalley Toyota Roswell,GA) would not let me speak to the service advisor that handled my case. Was just told that it’s not covered under warranty. Requested a call back and over a week later still waiting on it. Called Toyota directly and they first could not find the claim because it was filed by the dealership under “Misc bodywork”. Requested someone to review the case but they say that need to be initiated by the dealership and dealership won’t call me back! Careful before getting upgrades since no one takes responsibility once it’s time to fix things!

This model is a perfect highway cruiser and that’s where it shines the most. I highly recommend as a used car for reliability and comfort. The stereo in the base model is surprisingly good. Reliability has been excellent Parts are inexpensive and easy to find. I had my car for over 7 years now and grown attached to it.

2017 Camry is a bad ride

I thought Toyota was supposed make cars that were good quality and reliable. It seems that may have bee true years ago but not anymore. I have had problems with the temperature control where you have to set it to 77F in order to get the temperature to be in the low 70s in the car. If you set it at 72F, the temperature ends up in the mid- to upper 60s in the car. I also have a vibration that has developed and, in researching the problem, I found that this is a common problem on the 2015 - 2017 Toyota Camry, all trims. I have been fighting with Toyota about this and they said that the car is fine. I read other people tales of dealing with Toyota on the same issue and they received the same response. They have tried replacing the tires, rebalancing, etc. and nothing fixes the problem. Toyota is refusing to deal with the problem. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Camry unless you like driving a car that vibrates all of the time.

Try out your forward facing child car seat to make sure it fits in the back. The rear headrests aren't removable in this year's model.
