Purchased new 2007 Toyota Camry, big let down
This car hasn't performed anywhere near to what we were hoping. At 36K miles it began burning oil to which the dealer said it's normal. At 100k miles, Toyota knew they had a big problem and recognized it as excessive oil consumption. The unfortunate part being that we lost confidence that the car would last very long given it was burning a quart of oil every oil change as far back as 36k. At around 95k, Toyota finally did the engine work required and it stopped burning oil. At 100k miles, the engine mounts went and were changed with OEM mounts by the dealer and the car vibrates after the change when in drive at a stop. 110k miles the lower power steering return line rusted through, clearly due to a poor design (lowest point of metal). At 120k the flex hose pipe went (normally a $50 part), but with Toyota you have to buy a lot more for $900. So we are about to purchase a new car shortly and don't have a good feeling about the quality put into these cars anymore. At 130k, the radiator top seam leaked and needed replacing, the alternator began to whine along with the idler tensioner pully. $800 more. How is this car any better than a domestic POS? The only plus side is the resell value is decent. Update: I forgot to mention the drivers side sun visor failure, apparently there was a silent program to replace these if you brought it up to the dealer which ended years ago. How about doing a recall? Nope, cost avoidance... the visor flops down and won't stay up, it's neither fully down or fully up. Anyway, I paid to had this replaced but annoyed that Toyota recognizes the problem, but didn't send anything out to owners. Making it really hard to buy a new Toyota.

2007 Toyota Camry SE V6 W/ 19" TRD Rims Rules!!
I have owned a Maxima SE in the past, in my opinion '07 Camry SE-V6 is a much better performance car. Especially with the 19" TRD wheels/Michelin tires package. You will love this car. Superb handling, performance and comfort. Overall, an excellent choice vehicle.

What happened?
Grown man loyal Toyota fan sitting here crying. Just came back from the dealer after trading in my lemon.Trans burned out-yes a Toyota Camry with a burnt trans at 110,000 and I babied the car for the 3 years it lived.Quote was $4500 new $2000 used trans. This was after $1300 blown #1 manifold 3 months earlier and the blown oil line $400 mentioned here before. Car was a gem up to 75,000 then my check book opened. Trans slippage between 1st and 2nd gear occurred since new and 1 day trans just blew. My letter to Toyota will sit on the pile they already have. Too big too fast is causing Toyota to become Chrysler. FYI-dealer bought the car-$7000. I bought it new for $28,000 3 yrs and 110,000 mi ago
Completely Satisfied
Awesome acceleration! Quiet ride. No squeaks or rattles after 8000 miles. No drive problems like some say they are having, i.e., hesitation or surging.
Incredible Car
In one word, AWESOME! This car is amazing, and can really move. I had the previous model with the V6 engine and loved the way it moved and shifted gears without struggeling. The new camry blows that one away. The ride is quieter, the car faster, the exterior and interior looks better. For all interested in getting a car that performs better than some BMWs, this is it. It is faster from 0-60 than the BMW 330i and has a higher top speed than the 530xi. Congrats to all that own it, I know I'm happy with it.
