The Defiition of Ol' Reliable
I don't claim to be the best driver, but I'm certainly not the worst. That being said, my Toyota has been through hell and back. It somehow managed to survive a collision during harsh winter conditions, and the oil tank does have a slight leak, and it still manages to last on the highway for an hour and a half for 5 days a week. Before I crashed I was able to drive this thing all the way from Detroit, MI; to St. Louis, MO; up to Chicago, IL; and back to Detroit. within a weekend. All in all, only paid $140 in gas for the whole trip. As mentioned before, the oil take has a small leak, however, my little Toyota still managed to run on only a quarter of a tank of black oil for a couple of weeks before I finally had my mechanic change the oil. TL;DR, if you're looking for reliability without the flashiness, or if you're just looking for a first time car for your teenager, 2004 Toyota Camry is the way to go.

Problems
When I first purchased this vehicle I was excited about the quality of the vehicle and the smoothness of the ride. However, after approximately 22 months and 23k miles the check engine light came on. I brought it to the dealership and it was fixed. After 26k miles the tires were worn and needed to be replaced. Now, at 27.5k miles the check engine light is on again. After the first few weeks of owning the car I noticed a rattling in the dash that just can't be solved and I am still driving with that rattling. I am extremely surprised by these issues. I will have to evaluate other options next time I'm in the market for a car, which may be soon.

S'alright
The V6 Camry is a wonderful car to drive. I have driven it for nearly 4 years and am very satisfied. Fuel economy is decent, cannot complain. I gave performance a 5 because of the delay when the gas is pressed a bit much, but sometimes noticeable even with calm acceleration (somewhat annoys me).
Left worries behind
We bought this car new and also bought extended warranty. What caught our eye was the provision that all money will be refunded if warranty were never used. And you know what - after 7 years we got all our money back! The car is 13 years old now and all we have to replace ( besides wearable items like brakes and tires) was catalytic converter and the battery. So in our case Toyota proved its reliability for sure. The only bad thing were the original tires - we had to replace them after only 17000 miles and we had to pay for them, because it was the only thing not covered by original warranty. The tires were not made by Toyota, but still, they have to install more durable tires.

Best car I ever owned
I now have about 115,000 miles on this car. There have been no problems. Even what I consider expected repairs came much later than expected; brake pads at 85,000, struts at 110,000. This is even after having been driven by two teenage boys. MPG is great; 27 on daily commute, and 34 on vacation road trips. i have enough confidence in this car that I let my son take it to college with him. I replaced it for my use with a 2007 Camry and have been disappointed. the 2004 is vastly superior.
