104K Still Going Strong

Bought this vehicle new in 2003. Oil changes every 3k, brakes around 54k, all needed service completed. Water pump replaced, on my 3rd set of tires. Intermediate steering shaft needs replacement, not a safety issue just annoying knock sound. My a/c light blinks from time to time lately causing the a/c to not work. This appears to be a relay that needs replacement which is common. Other then what I would call minor issues with a vehicle with over 104k miles on it, it's treated me fantastic. Still getting 34 mpg highway 25 mpg around town. Engine sounds just like the day I bought it, amazing. Honestly, the car is just as sound today as the day I bought it! I would buy another in a sec.

Purchased in 2004 for 9k with 96k miles. Currently have 210k miles and it's still running well. This xle model rides so smooth and handles so well, I have not yet met an equal -- even the 2010 model I also own. I've had to do the usual water pump, thermostat, plugs, The only issue I can complain about are the coils that went out - they were pricey and it when they went out, it would shake the engine like it was about ready to jump off of its frame bolts. At 200k, the o2 sensors are giving me Check Engine light, but the California emissions on this particular car are so expensive -- not worth replacing...I had option to re-register at my property within rural county with no emission requirements. Still runs very well, and I expect to get another 100k out of it. Nothing so far tells it me it can't do it. Overall, it has had repairs, but nothing outrageous.

BEST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE

Writing this review from Toronto, ON. I've had terrible experiences with VW last couple years. 2015 PASSAT TDI and 2019 JETTA. Jetta was totaled after 3 months and didn't have any budget to buy brand new car. I did lot of research and decided to get a camry. I found one owner 2003 Camry XLE 4 cyl. Very well taken care. Passed the safety easily. All I had to change is passenger side CV axle. That's it. And I bought it for $1900 CAD. Paid $250 for replacing the part. There's a US made and JAPAN made on the market for that model (2002-2006). If you're planning to get one, make sure it's JAPAN built.
