Used 2002 Toyota Camry Consumer Reviews
Chucks
This vehicle is very dependable. This is my 4th Toyota, I still have 3 since they run forever. Just change the oil and go.
A happy customer
Still in the breakin period, 400 miles. No problems experienced to date. Everything appears tight.

Good & Bad
The overall design is fairly decent, however, the interior of my Camry has flaws. First of all, the radio has been replaced twice (it's on the third one!), the console drink holder has broken and the brake pedal makes intermittent noise. The ride is very smooth and quite and the back seat is comfortable for evenings out with guests. Great turning radius and easy to drive. If Toyota can just get the interior problems corrected I would be overjoyed with the car.
Spongy Brakes
We have owned this Camry since March 2003. We traded a 96 Camry in and it was a much better vehicle. The 96 was superior in almost everyway. We have had numerous problems. Squeaky belt, wind noise, water pump failed at 37K miles. The paint is thin and can be seen through. Toyota should be ashamed to sell a vehicle with such poor brakes. They are spongy and offer no feel, almost as if they are too small for the car. The car does not have ABS and perhaps that would offer some additonal confidence.
2002 XLE 4 Cyl w/ Pkg. 8+
I just purchased the 2002 Camry XLE with Pkg. 8 plus heated seats and curtain airbags. I believe Toyota did their homework on this one and nailed the design (near perfect).
