Great Choice
Purchased this car in May of 2006, trading in my 4 year old, gas guzzling SUV. Wasn't sure how I would adjust to a smaller vehicle but I LOVE IT! This car goes to the beach almost every weekend and receives stares every time. Parking is much easier than in my previous auto and the car drives great. I recommend it to everyone!
My Second Solara Convertible
I recently went to pick up my wife's new 2005 RAV-5 and while I was there I happened to ask what they had in new Solara Convertibles. I was only a little over 2 years into my 4 year lease on the one I had but the 2006 was such a beautiful and well equipped car I couldn't help myself. We have had MANY Toyotas since 1993 and the only repair was a catylic converter one one. My 2003 Solara was a truly nice car but this one is so much more comfortable, better handling, powerful, and high in creature comforts I had to have it. I LOVE it. It is fun to drive, handles great from 25 to 95 mph, and I cannot believe all the unsolicited compliments I get with it - especially with the top down. Marty

Looks like my two years of research paid off -- my first convertible is a winner!
Great car
This car is responsive and very roomy. It is so quiet, I have to check the tachometer to make sure it's running. It is a fun car to drive.
Small things count
I purchased my Solara in the Fall of 04. Although Toyota quality is apparent...small shortcomings have detracted from my enjoyment of the car. For whatever reason Toyota elected not to install "foldback" type outside rearview mirrors. When shopping or parking in tight spaces people try to fold back the mirrors. The compass windshield mirror vibrates over 60 MPH which produces a distorted image that is very annoying. The front seats are not as comfortable as they first appear...especially on longer trips. Lastly, the car has a "drive by wire" feature which causes a slight hesitation when you first depress the gas pedal...hard to get used to. Small complaints perhaps but they add up.
