Don't be afraid to dream
I bought this car on my 50th birthday. I was looking for a convertible which would go in the snow, have enough trunk room to carry my families groceries, have more than two people in the car and make me feel like a kid again. This car has it all. One summer day with the top down and the fantastic factory stereo turned up to a favorite song of the 70's, I felt like a 16 yr old in my dad's car. I don't think any other car could give me that. The only complaint, if it is one, is that on cold days going over some bumps the window glass seems to creak until it gets warm. The car looks like a more expensive and exotic model without the price tag. A hybrid model would have been perfect.
OK but not great
Very good looking and comfortable. Navigation system is poor. Cannot use features when car is moving, i.e. change anything. Need to stop the car. Major flaw is that the chassis shakes like hell when going over bumps, cowl shake. Even the rear view mirror shakes. Dealer says convertibles do that. I've had many previous ones and never experienced this before.

Pick something else
This car is decent but with all of the blind spots it's not reliable for someone who is short like me. Plus the seats go out too far. I have only had the car a year and I'm already looking at trading it in. It's not for me. I hope some else has better luck.
Just not enough....
It's a pretty car, I'll give it that. But that's not enough to make this a car to love. The 4-cyl engine doesn't have enough power, I worry about getting enough acceleration to merge on to the highways. The car just feels a bit "clunky" to me. Oh, and don't crack the windows if it's just stopped raining, you'll get drenched; the water pours in....
Super Solara SLE Convertible
Great: interior appointments, ease of top operation, air conditioning, styling is awesome, sat radio, riding comfort, acceleration, quietness, rear seat space/comfort, trunk space, running lights, steering wheel audio controls, brakes, price, Toyota reliability and quality control, half the price of a Lexus coupe yet looks a lot like one, VSC a great safety add Good: fuel economy, cup storage Not so good: rear visibility through small window and large rear pillars make for obscure parking (suggest a back-up camera as original equipment); can't use an automated car wash; no side panel protection - easy to pick up dings Overall: outstandingly fun to drive and own
