30 month update....still super happy, getting over 50 mpg most of the time 24 month update. Still a grand slam...getting 50 mpg frequently. 12 month update....great for long distance trips and best vehicle in my life!!!!!!! 6 month update.....even happier with 7000 miles on the vehicle. 6 Stars!!!!!! We are very impressed. Years ago we had 2 Camry's, then we switched to the Prius. We were shopping for a 2020 Prius but concluded their redesign of the interior was a no-go for me. We narrowed to three Hybrids: Honda Insight, Accord and the Camry. the Camry by far might have been the best vehicle we have ever bought. Comfortable, quiet, feels like we are in a luxury car. MPG...we have had many 50 miles trips pushing 55-60 mpg, just don't drive like an idiot. the car is quiet and the sound system is great. I think Toyota more than made up for the crappy 2019 Tacoma I am still unhappy about.

Only one problem with this car....

This is a great car except for one thing. It makes a really annoying whining sound when backing up or going real slow, to warn pedestrians when the engine isn't running and it is in quiet hybrid mode. There is a new mandate from the government that hybrids make a white noise when backing up or going under 19 mph, so that pedestrians are warned. The problem is, this isn't a white noise, it sounds like a high pitched dental drill. It is horrible. Love everything else about the car, but this is super annoying. TOYOTA--are you listening? You need to do a recall, and put in a white noise or something else that isn't so annoying! Please! this is sooo bad. You are known for quality but blew it with this one. Please don't just fix it in future vehicles. Help those of use who bought the car on trust and fix this issue. I have bought 7 Toyotas...but will think twice next time if you don't fix this for us. Thank you.

I've had a Camry Hybrid for 14 years and I just bought another one. My old Camry was a great car. I put over 200,000 miles on it and it was very reliable. I liked the 2.4L engine because it had enough power to get on the freeway quickly. It was a very quiet, comfortable car for me. My new one is awesome with all the bells & whistles that weren't available in 2007. It also is super quiet and comfortable. I'm looking forward to a long life with my new car!

The price and features, matched with extremely good fuel economy, made this a good pick for me. I wish we could get an AWD hybrid, but that may be an engineering issue with the drive train and the battery. Pros- roomy cabin, large trunk, good styling, easy to sync with both major phone types. The advanced safety features like lane assist and adaptive cruise control are cool and are pretty easy to figure out how to disable or turn down the sensitivity. I'm glad they are there. I sit pretty tall and I have no issues with headroom, which was a frequent issue during test driving other cars. Back seat is still a back seat but it was reasonably big for this class of car and fits two carseats well with good access via the doors. In terms of performance, I was surprised how quickly it accelerated. I was expecting much more lethargic performance from a 50mpg hybrid. The suspension is not sporty, which was a plus for me since I don't race cars and have a bad back. The softer the ride, the happier I am. This does mean it doesn't corner as well at high speeds so if you take a lot of windy roads at high speeds this may be a con for you. The interior won't ever be confused for luxury, but it doesn't feel cheap either. I really like the keyless entry. I don't even need to take the fob out of my pocket. The doors unlock automatically and I just push the start button. Very good visibility from the driver's seat. It doesn't feel low to the ground when you are sitting in it, which was a problem I had with the Accord. Cons - There is a feature where the car intentionally whines while going in reverse. This is a safety feature so pedestrians behind you know you are moving since the car is all silent under 5 or 10 miles per hour. I am not against this, but the volume and pitch could be better. It sounds like a dentist's drill. The trunk is very roomy, but the opening is kind of cramped. The stereo is easy to use with the touch screen but the sound is weak but there are upgrades available we didn't get. Ground clearance is kind of low, so if you go over a lot of rough roads or speed bumps you might want to look at other options.

Great gas sipper

After I owned an ('18) Avalon hybrid I am now in this '20 Camry LE hybrid. I'll leave out the details how that transition happened, but overall I am happy with the Camry. The best part is without doubt the fuel economy. I am scoring about 56 mpg with conservative (!!) driving and colder temperatures. I wonder if the arrow-mark on the dashboard will leave the max 60mpg bar once temperatures are in the 70s or 80s where cars generally have better fuel economy. This is just great for a car that has over 200 hp and, if need be, has plenty of power to accelerate. With the Avalon I scored around 43 mpg (still pretty good) but that set up has the NiNH battery, the Camry has the more efficient Lithium-ion. So there is no need to drive a tad pole Prius to have a fuel sipper. Only the Hyundai Ioniq is supposed to do better, but that is a smaller (and less comfortable) car. I also drive a lot of highway and even then maintaining a fuel economy in the 50s is no problem. You want a more fuel efficient car? Go plug-in or EV. Comfort wise, the car is sound. I did not upgrade to 17 inch alloy wheels as it does not increase comfort and probably decrease fuel economy. The standard 16 inch wheel are fine (for me). Comfort in subdivisions is also great. The Camry absorbs the unevenness of the roads pretty well on this new (in 2018 introduced) platform. Much better than my Avalon, which on the highway was stellar, but in subdivisions quite uncomfortable (to my surprise) for a flagship Toyota. On highway speeds, my Avalon was a bit quieter in terms of wind noise, but it's fine in the Camry. Inside comfort of the Camry is adequate. Unlike my Avalon no leather seats and dash material is lower grade. I did opt for a leather wrapped steering wheel which feels so much nicer than the thinny plastic wheel. A small price to pay for a much better enjoyment. The seats are fine too, except I don't really care for the bucket seat concept. It's not a sports car and I can imagine that bigger people would actually object to the intrusive thigh support. For me it's still fine, though I do miss my Avalon seats in that regard. I did opt for an upgrade package with extra safety features (blind spot monitor, cross traffic monitor, etc). The package came with an audio upgrade (but still nothing special, audiophiles, look elsewhere) and a sunroof which I never use. But climate control is nice. Please do consider the upgrade if you are in for the Camry LE because for little extra money you get a lot and extra safety features is always good for resale value. This care is supposed to stay with me for a good number of years, so I hope for the best. I skipped on the 0% interest offer and took the $3000 rebate. I intend to pay off earlier anyway and the numbers were better that way. Do your math!
