Loved the car, But its expensive to keep. At 90,000 had to replace the battery ($500) at 112,000 had to replace the Hybrid batteries ($4,000). Even tough the gas mileage is great, I will not buy a hybrid again.

Ours is the loaded Silver anniversary edition bought new now with 116K miles. Mileage is ok at 28-30 city and 34-35 highway. Car has been reliable except for recall for steering issue and the hybrid batteries just failed. Luckily we live in CT, a CARB state so it was replaced under warranty. Interior fit an finish is subpar and dashboard clicks and pops when cold. We have never gotten more than 30k miles on a set of tires and we buy good quality tires. Not a great effort from Toyota.

I am 71 years of age & have driven more cars than I can remember. This car is the most phenomenal car I have ever driven. Not only does it nearly eliminate all wind noise, on the freeway, it is so quiet that it makes listening to music a sheer joy. The mpg indicator have even prompted me to decrease interstate speed to decrease the mpg indicator (as it decreases it show greater mpg). The control panel is a joy, not only to view how many miles I've traveled since starting the car, but also to view the actual mpg being recorded since last fill up, even thought I continue to zero the odometer & do the mental calculations. The riding comfort is exceptional, smooth, bumps are hardly noticeable.

We purchased our Camry Hybrid new in June 2006, one of the first sold in our area. In terms of reliability, the car has been on par with our Lexus sedan, with no issues beyond scheduled maintenance. This year/model hybrid MPG is rated at 34, but we have averaged slightly better. As for comfort, our Camry came with all of the quality upgrades, with two exceptions - we opted to forego a sunroof (which we have rarely used on our other cars), and a navigation system, which we consider overpriced in practically all car makes and models. Riding comfort on long drives has been excellent, and after nearly ten years of use, the interior still shows very little wear.

The car is everything you would expect from a Toyota. I have 10K on mine, it's been flawless. I have averaged about 40 mpg, and do a lot of highway driving. If I drove more in the city I could easily avg 42-44. The car teaches you how to drive it. Yes, it ultimatley means less aggressive driving, but that's not a bad thing. In fact I find I now drive my non-hybrid vehicles more conservatively. You really learn what burns the gas.
