I love my Avalon!

I have not had my Avalon too long, but for the time I have had it...I adore it. I have had many other cars, from Ford to Buick to Chevy, etc. I am in love with this car. It drives like a dream. I slammed on the brakes in the rain and it stopped on a dime. If I were in my van I used to have or my truck...I would have wrecked my car. I am so satisfied, I can't believe it.

Smooth, Quiet, Fast, and Great Mileage!

Wow, are we impressed. This vehicle is such a great road car. Quiet, smooth ride, with lots of punch if you need to pass. 30+ MPG on the highway and 23-24 in town. Love the new dash re-design and the six-speed automatic. You can barely tell it's shifting. Plenty of room both in the front and back. Heated/cooled seats are a joy. Our friend, who drives a Lexus LS460, said our Avalon was quieter than his LS, and just as smooth on the open road. Our final choice was between the Avalon and a Genesis. Genesis was a nice vehicle; however, comparably equipped, the Avalon was thousands less and we liked the FWD for our snowy winters. Test drive it for 30 minutes or more and you'll be sold.

An Old Friend

Today we said goodbye to our old friend, a 2011 Avalon. Like an old friend she never let us down. She has taken us from Kansas to tour the United States and Canada without complaint. She rushed me to the hospital when I suffered a heart attack. She has transported us through dust storms, blizzards and thunderstorms, safely and in comfort. However my spouse and I, because of the infirmaties of age have made the difficult decision to give up our keys and to rely on public transportation and the kindness of friends to provide our transportation needs in the future. After 315,000 trouble free miles we have given our old friend to a family member in need of a car. Our Avalon was the absolute best automobile we've ever owned, and we've owned many, over the 85 years of our lives.

Bought 2012 CPO Avalon. It has been great so far. Very comfortable, engine responsive and gives good gas mileage. Ave. 25mpg so far. Can probably get 28 or 29 depending on how you drive. The interior is well designed and everything looks and feels like quality. The speedometer would benefit from cleaner markings. (Looks like they remedied it in later years) Not many things I can complain about. If you are looking for a comfortable car that can carry 5 people in comfort and gets great gas mileage, look for one of these. You won't be sorry. Update: The car threw a misfire code while I was on vacation in Florida (1200 miles from home) Shut down the traction control and cruise control. Took it to Lakeland Toyota. They had me up and going in 1.5 hrs., took really good care of me ( better than the Toyota Dealer a half mile from my house) and got me on my way. I can't say enough nice things about how I was treated here. Manny really fixed me up. Thanks again Manny.

Because of special needs within my family I selected the 2011 Avalon because it had large side windows front and rear, unlike many cars whose rear windows, especially, taper almost to a point, and it has a full bench seat in the rear without the raised bump in the middle that makes it uncomfortable for 3 passengers. Its overall size and ride makes it very comfortable to ride in, and there are many little conveniences built into the passenger compartment that are very useful. Some of these characteristics changed in later year models. When my car was rear ended at 55MPH its collapsible design absorbed the shock and my wife and I both walked away unhurt even though the car was totaled. When replacing the car I searched specifically for a 2011 Avalon same model and am delighted with it. Now, nearly 7 years after the first Avalon and 5 years since the second, I am still very pleased with this vehicle. It has approximately 94,000 miles and I have had no problems whatsoever with either of my 2011 Avalons. A great car!
