Safety king
I’m a 19 year old guy and so my driving record isn’t the best after two years of owning this car and it now having 160k miles it’s still going strong, I love it. It has all the luxury features of my friends BMW and Mercedes but the low insurance and repair cost that comes with a Toyota. I was backed into by a semi truck today and the driver didn’t see me and continued to back up pushing my car backwards for at least 6 feet and after it all my car has 3 scratches. THATS IT ! This car has plenty of power and a smooth ride with an amazing stereo system that always surprises people. I have the limited trim with all the features possible and the only thing broken is the rear sunshade which is surprising since the car is 13 years old now. I highly recommend this car!

Wonderful to drive!
Bought car for wife. She could not drive in Houston traffic. The car is still in "like new condition". The car drives like riding on a cloud with warm and cool front seats tempture controls, power tilt/slide glass moonroof.

2007 Toyota Avalon XLS
This is my 3rd Avalon -1995, 2000, 2007. I didn't feel comfortable with the drive by wire acceleration. Two trips to the dealer where they scanned the computer didn't show anything. Finally, on Edmunds forum someone had TSB EG 029-07 regarding the tranny controller. Brought to the dealer with this info. The reprogrammed the controller and this fixed the problem.
Improvements and Upgrades
Toyota has upgraded the vehicle significantly. I have previously owned a 1996 and 2000 XLS models. My biggest complaints are the seats are not as comfortable as the 2000 model and the laser cruise control backs the speed down when approaching the rear of another vehicle without regard to what is behind your vehicle. I don't see the practicality of the rear window sunshade.
Blew a Head Gasket at 85,000 miles.
Bought this car new. I am a "little old lady" driver. A few weeks ago at 85,000 miles this car blew a head gasket which the repair shop believes this also ruined the oxygen sensors. 4000.00 repair bill. Needless to say, I am HIGHLY disappointed in my car. Additionally, the front driver seat is not very comfortable. I can feel the springs through it. Probably will not be getting another Toyota.
