Used 2005 Toyota Avalon Consumer Reviews
Hard seats and ride leave me stiff
Toyota has turned Avalon into another sport sedan. Gone is the cushy suspension and soft leather seats of the last version. Now you feel and hear every bump on the road. The drivers seat is very hard and uncomfortable. I'm squirming after 15 minutes. There are many wonderful improvements in the new Avalon. But the navigation system is poor. It is archaic with the joystick and its linked to vehicle information. You must change the screen for each type of info. The information is in very small print. For my tastes, I wish the comfort level matched the quality in the rest of the car. Suspension is a matter of taste, but Toyota doesn't provide that option. It is hard or harder.
Great car!
Great quality and quite a value when compared to competition. Have been an Acura owner and fan for the past ten years. When compared to the new RL this car served my needs and wallet a lot better. Love every aspect as compared to either RL or TL. Have no comlaints about either my old 2000 RL or 96 TL; however, at this point the 2005 Avalon is a much better buy for me than either of the Acura current offerings.

Avalon Surpasses Our Expectations
An excellent overall vehicle, went looking for a 4x4 & fell in love with this car!!! It meets or surpasses everything that we look for in our cars, it has the quality of a Lexus at a much easier price. With 280 hp this car can move!! We could not be more pleased with our choice & will now look at a 4Runner as our 4x4 pick.
STS for 1/3 the $$$$$$$
Engine is fantastic, exterior is sleek, interior is good, but seats are not up to the rest of the car. Handling is wonderful, but ride could be a bit more smooth and comfortable. Gas mileage is very respectable with regular gas.
Better than the Lexus
I went to buy a Lexus GS300, but the Lexus had less power, less head room and cost $15,000 more. My Avalon has been perfect. I especially like the ventilated seats. Also, the keyless ignition and locks make it very easy to get in the trunk when I have packages. You would think all the gadgets would be confusing, but they have a web site www.mytoyota.com that teaches you how to use them. Cons? The Navigation system is GREAT technology, but the manual was NOT originally written in English. I dare the President of Toyota USA to try to read it. Also, the main button on the Navigation is too easy to hit crooked, selecting the wrong thing. Should be redesigned. Small complaints. Great car.
