Used 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Limited 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT) Consumer Reviews
Last car
My first car was a 1968 Ford Mustang, and now my last car is a Toyota Avalon. I went from a brand new Mustang that had its first major remind within five years, to Toyota’s that never needed any major repair. I learned after owning three Toyota’s in my lifetime age 71, that Toyota was the only car for me. The Avalon has to be the nicest. We have the limited hybrid and I am extremely pleased with it. It’s quiet, comfortable, and gives you thrilling speed when you need it. On top of that, knowing that Toyota is for me the most reliable car out there.

Avalon
Very uncomfortable seats. Awkward getting out. No knee room, center console takes up too much space. Awkward location for Qi charging. Other than those items it’s a great car. Would prefer Michelin like the previous years, I think they handled better. Please bring back the rear window blind and the remote start on the key fob. I will not pay 160.00 a year for remote start. If the remote returns, I will definitely continue to buy.

Real nice for mature drivers
Drives like a dream. three items I wish they had from the past: 1. place to put your sun glasses, 2. bigger pockets in the front doors, 3. Coin organizer is missing. Beautiful car to drive. Over the new variable cruise control.

Over 46 MPG In a spacious sedan.
This car is smooth and quiet. The front headroom is tight if you are over 6 feet. The back seat was comfortable for a 6'5" person. There is plenty of leg room and trunk room. I get a lot of compliments on the looks and drive. It is not a sports car, but a very comfortable sedan. The Birds Eye View is great when parking or pulling in to the garage, no need to have a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling. The heated seats and steering wheel are nice in cold weather. The App is a nice feature for remote start and checking if you forgot to lock the car.
Terrible Front Seat for a 6'4" man
I'm 6'4" -- tall but not off the charts. I've purchased and still own two previous Avalons so just assumed this would work. The front seat is so bad that I can't drive it with out support cushions to undue the way the seat forces my front shoulders to roll forward. Then, when I use a cushion it puts me in a position that makes my head touch the moon roof, which I need to keep open (the ceiling cover part) so as not to be touching. More on the seat - when I first sit in it for a demo or a few minutes, it feels fine - nice 4 way lumbar adjusment etc. However if I drive for 30 minutes or so I begin to get a deep ache in my shoulders. So much so that if I drive for an hour I'll be sore the next day. Once I drove 90 minutes and the pain was such that I couldn't get to sleep with out advil. This is terrible ergonomic design - the car should have come with a warning. And, when I called the Toyota customer support line they just said I might need to buy (at my expense) a custom seat. On a $40K car one expects great comfort for the driver, or least acceptable. I've been a big Toyota fan for 20 years, and teach the toyota production system at work -but I'll have to reconsider going forward. (Having said this, the rest of the car is great - but this basic issue outweighs all else!
