Sparky
Has lived up to all of my expectations. Operation costs are great. 40 mpg with regular gas. 10,000 mile oil changes. Very comfortable car for long trips.
The Best Car Ever!! And I have owned a bunch
I absolutely love driving this car. It is my sporty, luxury and best of all economical ride. I own 3 other Toyota products, a 2007 Lexus, 1999 4-Runner, and a 2011 Camry. But the Avalon is my favorite. Smooth quiet ride that holds the road while getting in and out of traffic without drinking gallons of gas. My Touring class has all the bells and whistles which makes a distraction-free and safe ride. The feature that has me wondering how I drove without it all these years is the Blind Spot Monitoring system. It is the absolute best technology ever. Thanks Toyota for the 2013 Avalon Hybrid. A great solid piece of machinery that's fun to operate and easy on the purse strings. Bravo!!

This is not your grandpa's Avalon
The redesign of the Avalon for 2013 converts it from essentially a rock-solid dependable geezermobile to a rock-solid dependable vehicle that appeals to people of all ages. It is flat-out gorgeous inside and out, the paint colors are incredible, the build, fit and finish amazing. The leather interior, formerly vague-looking and spongy, is now edgy and supple. The car really gets about 40 mpg on a dependable basis if you drive in Eco mode and aren't a leadfoot. It has an absolutely cavernous rear seat space, and all of the controls and features are ergonomic and well thought-out. This car, completely redesigned from the ground up, is an absolute triumph of industrial design.
New to hybrids, bringing the average buyer's age down :)
After considering everything from Passat, to Accord to BMW I ended up with the Avalon Touring Hybrid. I really wanted to get the new Accord Hybrid. However, there were several issues for me trunk space is horrible, engine revs are hard to get used to, availability and only MSRP available right now. Plus it's a new system and who knows what reliability will be. Now, on to the Avalon Hybrid I love it so far. Interior is sharp, hybrid drivetrain is smooth, Toyota has been building hybrids for a long time now so I expect this to be very reliable. I do, however, see them making a switch to Lithium Ion technology in the near future. For now, we have the "tried and true" nickel metal hydride.
Best Toyota I've Owned
My first car was a 78 Celica and I've had Toyota's ever since, this is the best of them. Great style, great design, excellent quality throughout, great mpg, great value if you cross shop Lexus, BMW, or Infinity. Keep the car in eco mode and you'll get 40+ mpg. Switch over to Sport mode if you need some kick, not a sport sedan but still entertaining. I went looking for a hybrid when my commute doubled, tried Prius, Camry, Lexus ES300H, Ford C-Max & Fusion, the Avalon has the best balance of comfort, luxury, handling and fuel efficiency. I paid more than I was planning but worth every penny. I expect to keep this car for 15+ years so the cost per mile is well worth it to me.
