Used 2010 Subaru Outback Consumer Reviews
First Sub - Very Happy.
This is my first Sub (always had Hondas) and I have been very happy. I was nervous to purchase the car given the history of Subaru's head gasket issues. With much research, it became clear that the issue has been addressed for new Subs. Plus, my dealership covers engine/tranny issues for the life of the car. Gas mileage greatly improved after 4000 miles, and with a little warmer weather. 26 mpg around town - 30+ on highway. Great car! I plan to hand it down to my 7 year old when he turns 16. If you are on the fence about purchasing, just do it. You will be happy you did.
Best bang for the buck
We have had the car for three months and 3000 miles. Very happy with it. Also have a Lexus RX350; the Subaru is more comfortable and almost as quiet. Steering is a little numb, but comfort negates that. I love the CVT, my last Subaru would continually upshift and downshift on grades- that is obviously cured. Mileage excellent for a car this big. Subaru should have car's satellite radio ready from factory as opposed to $400 purchase-install from dealer. AM radio reception ridiculously poor.

good first time Subaru experience
We were shopping for a Venza, Camry and ended up buying an 2010 Outback. This dealer was selling both brands and we test drove and liked the Outback. It feels heavier, stronger and more solid. We got it for 26k about 1k less than newspaper ad. This is our first Subaru, actually my first time driving a Subaru. I got to say it is pretty impressive and worth considering if you are shopping for a wagon.
Subie Newbie & loving it
Requirements for my next car included versatility, build quality, mileage and a clean, responsible engine/transmission. I wanted something that didnt suffer from me too, and it had to be comfortable for me (63) and my wife (52). The 2010 Subaru Outback does all of this and more. Even with me driving, theres plenty of room in the back seat for another 6-footer. Coming from a V6 Highlander I was worried the Outbacks 4-cylinder would feel underpowered but the 350lb lighter Subie scoots along just fine with 20% better fuel economy. Looked at RAV4/CRV/Santa Fe and there was no comparison. The closest runner up was actually the Subaru Forrester.
Great family adventure mobile
We were on the waiting list. This is a great car. We needed to balance fuel economy, AWD, rear leg room, affordability, reliability, and storage space. The Subaru 2010 outback fit the bill.
