Disappointed after first year

This is my 2nd review, first being after i owned the car for just one month. a much happier time. Within the past 3 months i have returned to the dealer for 3, that's right, 3 recalls as well as my coolant leaking causing my engine to smoke. I was told at the dealership that i have no leaks, simply an air pocket had burst, causing all the coolant to dry up and need re-filling. What?! Well last night i placed cardboard under the vehicle and guess what i woke up to this morning? Wet cardboard! I went from a Jeep G.Cherokee to my Outback, but will be going back to Jeep as soon as my lease is up! Rather pay a tad more at the pump and drive a reliable vehicle. Going back to a G.Cherokee.

This is my first Subaru and I was attracted by the redesign. Overall, I like the car, but don't LOVE it like I loved my past VWs. The GPS system cannot be programmed while the car is moving, not even by a passenger. So, if I'm driving and need to change course, even by simply pressing a button for a previous destination or home, the car has to come to a stop, which means pulling to the side of the road if on the highway. Also, there is very limited iPod control when the vehicle is moving. You can change songs on a playlist, but cannot change the playlist while moving, forcing me to unplug my iPod to change lists and then plug it back in, or pull over. That seems MUCH safer...

This is the 7th Subie to grace our driveway. We currently have a Baja, WRX, Legacy and another Outback in the driveway. My wife and 4 kids all drive Subies. The 2010 Outback/Legacy is the closest to a main stream vehicle Subaru has built. A roomy interior and much more comfortable seating is immediately noticeable. The Outback is peppy even with the 2.5 and CVT. The CVT is strange at first, but I am getting used to it. The Subaru secure driving experience is still there; it's just quieter, more comfortable and efficient than earlier models. Part of Subaru's charm was the quirkiness of it's vehicles. I'm not sure where the quirks are in this car yet. It is a blast to drive though.

I HATE this car and even special ordered it. Constant issues with brake pedal make a clunking noise after your foot comes off. Now I am told "they all do that". $30,000 cars do not just "do that". One tire had a problem and would not steer right, pulled me off the road and I about lost it. Took the dealership a 40 mile test drive to finally discover it. I think it was a joy ride. The cloth interior is cheap. The carpet is cheap. The motor is severely underpowered. Feels like a chug mobile while getting on the interstate. Please someone take this off my hands. Will make you a good deal. What a $30,000 mistake.

Took the new car on a long trip. The cruise control resume creates sudden acceleration, Wide Open Throttle (WOT). The economy indicator drops to lowest reading whenever I encountered a hill. This is an obvious design flaw and shows a lack of attention to detail and safety. What other flaws does this vehicle have?
