Head Gasket Issues: Subaru 1995-2000
I love my Subaru, but if I had known that Subaru made poor quality head gaskets in the late 90s I would have never bought one. $3000 dollars later (@125k miles) I have a new head gasket and clutch and will never again buy a Subaru. My only other issues: The shifter rattles and the cup holder is directly over the CD player. Look into the head gasket issue before you buy!
Quirky little bugger!
I've had this car for a few months now and it's already been in the shop three times. I actually love the car but wish that a mechanic could deteremine why the car has difficulty shifting from reverse to drive (it's an automatic transmission).

I had to get a new transmission at 70K. I am a mom and drove it to and from work with a few long highway trips. I was pretty disturbed by the whole incident.
Great car
I bought this after researching for almost two years. I bought it for the all-wheel-drive system, which is the only sedan that offers this at a reasonable price. It has been great. Great pick up on the 2.5 l 165 hp engine. Quick! Great on snow also!
Wonderful quality automobile
I live in the northeast and this car gets me where I need to go through all weather conditions. It's AWD and winter weather package are wonderful alternatives to waiting for the snow plow to pass by my road on a wintry morning. I got in an accident with this car, but walked away without a scratch. I love driving my subaru!
