Sold my 2016 Crosstrek to my daughter and bought a new 2018 Crosstrek. We have 4 Subarus in our driveway.

The car is slightly underpowered but that results in excellent fuel MPG. This is an overall good small SUV which gang compete with the Honda CRV on the HRV and the likes.

This is my first subaru! I love it. I will own nothing more than a Subaru for the rest of my life. They have just now released a third row SUV -- that will be my next big purchase but several years down the road :)

We have had our Crosstrek now for a little over a Year and we are still very pleased with it. No issues not even the oil burn you sometimes here about, there were none with the 2014 Outback we had I sometimes miss the space of the Outback since our Crosstrek is much smaller( rear seats and cargo). We have a 4yr old and I can tell in the back of my seat at times. One thing Subaru could have done is to put a cupholder and arm rest in the center back seat. Waiting for an electric Subaru with AWD. Beach bound. ;-]

It's zippy and wants to drift. There are a few things that are "just the way they are" that I wish I knew in advance. I like that it is not close to the ground. I like the way it looks and love the color (khaki) and get a lot of compliments. I got the remote start -- that too has some weirdness. I rarely use the remote start and it does not keep the engine on long enough to warm the car in winter.

We bought this car with our first child in tow. Every dealer reassured us of how family friendly it was and during our test drives it seemed great. However after owning the car my husband has complained that in order for the carseat to fit behind the driver seat he has to sit uncomfortably close to the wheel. We moved our child to the passenger side but now that we have two there is no choice but to have a seat behind the driver. My husband and I are constantly arguing over which is the biggest liability- moving our child to front facing before recommended or continuing to have my husband drive cramped up without free range of motion. Either way it seems like this is not the safest and best choice for our family. If you are over 6 feet tall I'd suggest you go for something else.

Ive had my 2016 Crosstrek for about 5 months now and really enjoy it! Traded in my 2013 ford Escape for a subie due to the better gas milage. Its a very enjoyable ride; however, Cleary some pros and cons as any car. Pros: -LOVE the handling of the AWD system. My escape had automatic 4wd but the awd beats that by far, great on gravel and rain -decent gas mileage, could maybe be better but better than my escape -steering wheel layout for handsfree is convenient, although have trouble with the automated voice understanding me -looks GREAT! enjoy the look of the crosstrek -trunk interior durability is great for all my outdoor gear Cons: -ride seems a bit loud and bumpy, although contribute that to it being a Subaru and built for more rugged activities -the interior seems to lack a bit in looks, nice colorations but nothing special -acceleration isn't wonderful -no automatic start in a 2016 Overall, I love my subie and can't wait to take it out more. While the acceleration doesn't really bother me, a bit fancier or done up interior would be nice. Provides me with everything I need and I really enjoy it. Smallish and compact but is still just right with room size and has the ability to carry any gear your may want to take along.

Subaru Crosstrek is my kind of car

For me the Crosstrek is a perfect size. I don't have other family members who require more space. But I am an avid gardener and need room for hauling mulch, top soil, plastic bags, and plants. The Crosstrek is suitable for that, gets good mileage for a non-hybrid, and the extra safety features are invaluable. Extremely happy with my car.

Great for the first 50k miles

I absolutely adored this car for the first three years I owned it. Super reliable, no issues to speak of. It's comfortable to drive, handles great in winter weather, and gets good gas mileage. However, in the past year (at around 55-60k miles) there is now something wrong with the rear suspension. Subaru "fixed" it for about three days and then it was back to creaking. Theoretically this is not a safety concern, but given that most of the miles on this car are easy highway, there's really no reason for any mechanical issues to be popping up. Following a recall fix, the key now gets stuck in the ignition after putting the car in park about 80% of the time. This is extremely irritating at best, and on occasion dangerous as I have a job that requires me to run to work in the middle of the night for emergent situations -- and getting stuck in my car because it won't let me take the key out of the ignition in the parking lot is totally unacceptable. Based on these issues I'll be trading it in soon for another brand.

Ordered one with all the options, I think. at 37k the heating coil and box needed replacing. This should have been on the dealer. I negotiated paying only the labor at $500. I have a 68 Cutlass and the heater box still works. Defective product without a doubt. Loud and horrible stereo, GPS voice control useless, no electric seats, no acceleration to speak of and at 90k the wheel bearings in the rear are going bad. We use it for on-road only and never hauled a trailer. So my thoughts are with all the bearing issues I have read online, that they buy the bearing out of China...Do not use bearings from China or tires. You will get cheap steal that falls apart eventually. The price was 28k and I know, I paid too much but we thought it would be a life-long car. Buys remorse for sure mainly because of the price to quality. Waiting on a new Bronco...who knows when we will see that...
