Used 2023 Subaru Ascent Consumer Reviews
Started off satisfied.
Since having this vehicle, had the following issues: brakes (three times to get it right) and the jury is still out. The hood was vibrating at hwy speeds (60-70 mph). Both the above has tech bulletins out however, it was up to the consumer to report it. SMH. The CVT has its moments. Beside the above mentioned, not a bad vehicle.

2023 Subaru Ascent touring loaded bad vibes
Well I made the mistake of giving up my 2022 outback wilderness with 17700 miles for a 2023 Ascent. I loved my wilderness as it was super reliable. Problem from the get go, my salesman is a great guy was headed this way to deliver to my home Monday, . got within 30 miles of my home all the dash lights came on and RAB,Eyesite , and all other lights came on, he turned around took it back. the service dept did diagnostics and, reset found no problems. Waited till Wednesday (today) my salesman gets it to me, we sign papers swap vehicles. he shows us all the bells n whistles and leaves. one hour later my wife cranks this suv and dont back out 20 ft of our driveway, all lights on again , no eyesite, rab, vdc brakes. I go check it out crank and walk around the Ascent . I smell ammonia very strong. this vehicle has bad issues. dealer coming to get it and bring me free rental. WOW how i miss my Black on Black outback Wilderness terribly. How stupid could I be. But all the reviews are great but mine. Im crying now.

Ascent disappointment
Traded a 2014 Highlander with 285,000 miles for this piece of expensive junk. Ascent gets worse gas milage at 19 mpg average after 3,600 miles. Driving more gently than I ever did with Highlander trying to get to 20mpg...impossible!! Worse by far the transmission is extremely lurchy. Very scary incident (provoking my review) merging onto highway when I got no (none!!!) transmission response attempting to accelerate, cars approaching fast from behind nearly causing my first accident ever at 58 years! When the transmission finally engaged, it literally threw my head against the headrest because I had the accelerated fully pressed desperate for an acceleration response. Service says nothing is wrong with it. Oh, and both keyless entry fobs quit working last week after one month of ownership. I can't express how disappointing this car is, worse car I have ever bought, ever! This car is dangerous due to the transmission issue that they won't acknowledge. I hate this car.

Do not buy
I can’t say enough about my bad experience with this vehicle. From the get-go we’ve had issues. First it was Computer problems to start with that eventually Got resolved “sort of”. The solution was to disable certain features on the car that were misfiring (so to speak). Also I’ve had to have my brakes replaced or fixed 5 times in a year and a half. The computer issues are better but not gone and I’m sure I’ll have to have brake work done again in the next few months as clearly there is a problem but Subaru can’t figure it out . I’m in the process of filing a second complaint with Subaru but haven’t heard back from anyone in over a week. Crappy car, bad customer service. Not up to Subaru standards at all. Do not buy.
Very nice vehicle
I wanted a safe vehicle and the Ascent was at the top of my list. The ride is very good and the seats are very comfortable. Also, wanted the rear bench seat which was a little more difficult to find. It would be nice if there were more color choices/options available especially for the interior. Not a fan of the OEM Falken tires but they're okay for now.
