Awsome Sound Machine
I bought this car for 2 reasons. #1 interior shape (hatchback) for a 3 subwoofer horn loaded configuration and #2 price since I was putting $7K into the sound system. 2000 W into 2x10" + 1x15" sub with 9 cabin speakers custom door pods and Morel dome/MB Quart Premium speakers - awesome sound quality. Professionally installed by the owner of Audio North West, the sound system is Incredible (and I have a lot of audio stuff for comparison). A side benefit is the ride. Hard corners a bit soft but good controlled drift w/e-brake, will install sport suspension. Minor tuning mods, upgrading to 18" XXR rims and Potenza tires this week. AWESOME platform for REAL car audio and it has enough kick - FUN
Super White tC
This car is lots of fun to drive, it has good pretty good handling and the acceleration is nice considering its a 160 hp car.

Outside the Target
Traded in an '02 Jeep Liberty for my Scion tC...what a difference. The ride quality, tight steering, balanced handling, low-end torque...all with reknowned Toyota build-quality. I spent 4 months looking for a new ride,,,,drove them all; and still cannot believe all the standard features packed from Scion for $17,000.
You'll Love It!!!
I traded in my '03 Hyundai Tiburon for a black tC and I couldn't be happier. I drive a lot of different late model cars and pickups at my job, but this tC is the perfect balance in my eyes of performance (160 horses is plenty if you're not planning on racing anybody), looks (I get plenty of double-takes at stoplights), and most importantly, VALUE. The features that come for the $18,000 or so you pay are EXCEPTIONAL.
Senior owner
Ive owned my tC for a few weeks now and I must say that I am amazed at what I got for my money. Im a senior in my mid 60s and have owned a lot of cars in my day. I enjoy driving smaller cars and when I looked around at what was available the tC stood head and shoulders above anything else in its price range and even some that cost a whole lot more. Every option that I wanted, including some that I would have never considered, were included at no extra cost. I knew it was a good deal when I bought it but after driving it several hundred miles Im even more impressed with the tCs performance, handling and overall quality. It was well worth the wait.
Excellent Car
The Scion tCis wonderful. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the price range of $20,000 dollars. It's the best car under twenty grand and it handles great.
Get what you pay for
It is not a great car, just a car. The Scion tC is a good entry level car and but I do not think that it will hold its value when I go to sell it. I am just waiting to make more money to buy a nicer car.
Great Buy
I am new to Toyota / Scion and very imprested with the car and company. This car is a great value.
Love It
I love my Scion tC. I would definitely buy one again. It is the most fun that you can get for your money. No car is more fun driving around town. Its low end torque is amazing. The tires want to chirp. The stereo wants to blast. This car is a blast, and it's comfortable. It is great on the highway, too.
Lovin' it at age 40
Who says this is for the young generation? I'm having fun driving this thing. I'm usually the SUV type a guy but ever since the gas price started going up, I will be driving this baby spring thru fall! I feel like I'm driving in a sports car. I get an avg of 25 mpg in mixed highway / city driving. Although, once broken in...it will be better on gas. I think this car will bring out the midlife crisis in me. I'm already thinking of modifying it...uh oh! This car has a lot of torque. It will take time getting use to the 1st gear. It has a lot of wheel spin, but definitely stick with the manual tranny.
Lovin' It
I've had my tC now for 8 months and driven it 18,000 miles. I do a wide variety of driving but on average mostly city. My mileage is usually 27+ mpg even with all city driving and winter gasoline, I'm looking forward to seeing what summer gas/highway driving will do. I took care to break the engine/transmission in right and the car seems to be rewarding me with plentiful power and good economy. I really enjoy the torque around town and the wide power band on the highway. Many times I never even downshift to pass. My average highway mileage is 28.5mpg also on winter gas. The interior is very open and roomy, the seats are comfortable, supportive, and very adaptable. I love the gauges/dash design.
Just Drive A Scion tC...It's Amazing
I'm in my late 40's and have never been one to get very excited about cars. I took a test drive just for fun in a 2006 Scion tC and instantly fell in love with the body style, handling and curves of interior. When I compared it to the Civic and Corrolla in terms of price and features the decision was hands down for the tC. I have read over 50 pages of reviews by owners and agree it is a major fun to drive. You tend to smile every time you get in it, and I am serious about that. People honestly think it is in the $25,000 - $30,000 price range. Its gas milege can be a little low though. I am averaging 25ish during the break in period but word is after 3,000 miles of break and adding a non-stock air filter 29 is possible.
Great Car
The Scion tC is a great car. It is very fun to drive. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Dream Machine
Absolute dream to drive. Interior is roomy, comfortable. No road noise. handles on the road like a charm. Sporty, yet practical. Would recommend it to anyone who likes a comfortable yet exciting ride. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Scion is Good
My Scion tC is great, except for a few interior squeaks which the dealership fixed. It is fast for what it is and the shifter is top notch. I love every gear in this car, torque is never an issue.
Scion tC
I looked at a lot of cars the Scion tC has it all. It handels great, has excellent power and has a great look. Plus it's fun to drive.
Black Cherry Pearl
There is so much that you can do to the Scion tC. I have had the tC for about 5 months now. I still cant make up my mind on what I want to do to it.
Mixed Feelings
I have had my tC a little over a year and have had no problems out of it whatsoever. It is still very fun to drive, even after having it a year. It is pretty spacious for a two-door car, but I will stick to four-doors from now on. It is a smooth, comfortable ride with no rattling or shaking. I just calculated my MPG and got about 28 city, 31 hwy, which is good but could be better for a small car. The sound system is great and the pioneer CD player and speakers are very high quality. The road noise is relatively quiet for having low- profile tires. Despite its sporty look, the steering is not very nimble. Overall, I have enjoyed my car, but it could definitely use some improvement.
One Great Little Car!
I love this car! I'm close to 40 and thought that I wouldn't like this kind of car. However, it's fabulous and great to drive! I did have a rattle in the trunk but was easily fixed at the dealership. For the price, it's a great car!
Quick Hatchback for the money!
This is a nice 3 door car for the cash. The standard goodies are a really nice surprize for under $17,000. So far the gas mileage is better than the EPA estimate of of 22/29. It's more like 24/31, which is not bad for a 2.4 liter! The fit and finish are great for any car in this segment. Honda is all I have ever owned and now I'm a Toyota believer! A test drive is the only way to see for yourself.
Scion tC
The Scion tC has a great ride, but they could have fancied up the inside more. Scion could have made sure the rubber pieces on the outside were snuggly and securely fit as in around the windows ..etc... Having said this, overall this is a good car for the money.
Best Car for Teens
This car is incredibly great! It's a great car for its value.
Scion tC - WOW
I first went to test drive the tC, after I did, that was all I needed. I got a good deal well within my budget. If I want very good mileage it is imperative I was premium gasline, which is pricey these days. The handling, the features, and every design feature this car has is great, I love it, I'm glad I got it.
Sporty Coupe
It is a treat to drive. You can't beat the price with the options you get, like the sunroof. The build quality is excellent. I recommend it to any one.
Great bang for your buck!
Great fit and finish with nice exterior details. We get stopped all of the time with questions about the car. Looks great in silver! The tC has a very good ride/handling balance. It is a firm ride, but not bone jarring. Great performance for a 4cylinder automatic. Fun to drive and I would recommend to anyone.
I'll never go back
Lets preface this by saying the following: I fit in my Scion. A footnote on that: I'm 6' 6", and I am quite comfortable, which would not be possible without the seat height adjustment and angle adjustment. Moving on, I've been a Jeep man all my life (still have a Wrangler for mudding) and this is the first small car I've ever owned. Its fun to drive, its got great quality parts, and I got more for my money than I could have gotten on a Honda Civic, which I almost bought first. It is a beautiful car, when/if I ever run it into the ground, I'll be looking for another.
Best Car For The Money
I've had my tC for almost 2 months and I'm very satisfied with my decision on the best car for the money. It has every standard option you ever need plus more. And the extras are great too. I got mine with a pedestal spoiler and Borla cat back exhaust. I love it. The tC is a great car in a lot of ways. It's very fun to drive, people like to look especially the ladies, and there is so much that you can use this car for. It is the easiest car to park and it's very fuel efficient. The standard audio system is exceptional.
My first purchase
I've driven a '98 Corolla for the past 7 years and the occasional Camry drive, so it was difficult to push me out of the Toyota family. When I went to buy a new car I narrowed it down to the under $22,000 range because I didn't want to spend THAT MUCH on a car, though I probably can easily. I ended up test driving the '06 Impreza, and this car and it was quite easy. The Civic was another option and a relative had recently bought one so I got to play with that a bit. But it was really easy to decide. The tC has way more features, the looks, and the Toyota Camry reliability in it for the same price.
My Scion tC
I love my Scion. It handles beautifully. It's gas mileage is great. It has a roomy interior for me in front, and for my friends in back. I drive a lot, and I always look forward to time on the highway.
2006 Scion tC
I researched several cars prior to getting a 2006 Scion tC. I test drove a 2006 Mustang and found the seats to still be uncomfortable, although an improvement over my 1997 model. I also test drove a 2006 Acura RSX and found that the tC handled better, is quieter, more comfortable to sit in, and cost several thousand less than a comparably equipped model. My only reservation about buying a tC was the age group Toyota targeted - I'm old enough to be their father! I bought the tC anyway. It's the Special Edition 2, and it turns heads. The only thing I added is tinted windows. It's fun to drive, hugs the road, handles better on wet roads than my old Mustang did, and I have fewer stops at the gas station.
2006 Scion tC
I got my 2006 Scion tC about 3 months ago and couldn't be happier. I traded in a 2000 Mercury Mystique, called the poor man's BMW. There's nothing out there in the entry level compact car. I researched the Mazda 3, Ford Focus, Nissan Sentra, and Honda Civic (no Korean cars, though), and the best bang for my buck was the tC. Did you know they're monospec? It means there is only one base model, but... The base model comes with power windows both with one touch activation, panorama roof and moonroof, mp3 player, 160hp and 163 lb/ft torque, and best of all... Toyota reliability! Only complaint is the aft panel in the roof sometimes rattles on bad roads, but what do you expect from a $17,000 car?
GO Scikotics!
I love this car. I belong to Scikotics your friendly neighborhood Scion club and we all enjoy Scion. I recommend this car for all ages. Many love it for the speed and at all costs try to go faster. I myself am interested in exterior customization and perfection!
I love my Scion!
I just got my '06 Scion tC a few days ago. I've wanted this car for over a year, and because of my stupidity I bought an '06 Mazda3 not really wanting to buy it. Lets just say I felt extremely pressured...but oh well that is in the past! I am extremely happy with my tC and I absolutly love it! Now my boyfriend wants one too! I've made him jelous! This car is awesome to drive and you get soo much car for your money! I love it!
Great Car
The Scion tC is a better Toyota Celica. I added leather seats and a quick shifter and its the best new car I ever had, over the Mazda RX-7, Celica GTS, and Camaro Z28.
I Love the Scion tC
I was initially looking at a different vehicle, someone suggested the Scion to me as an economical car. I am so glad they did, I love the tC - the look, the color (Black Cherry), the price, and the great fuel economy. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking, it's a sporty looking car, I love the sun/moon roofs, it gives a great ride and has great pickup for a 4 cylinder!
Rob's tC
For the price, the value is amazing. It has a great stereo. The sunroof system is very good with two glass panels to let in the light. The sunroof wind noise is far less than in my 2003 Mini Cooper. I drove nearly 900 miles in one day. The seat adjustments are excellent, especially when you consider that I believe the seats are more comfortable than those in my BMW M3. My friends compliment the brightness of the headlights, even with the fog lights off. It even has an arm rest with sweet sections to hide things so those outside can't see them!
2006 Scion tC
The 2006 Scion tC is a great car. It is fun to drive, well built, and has a great sound system. I love it.
Holy Scion
Overall the scion has been the best car I have ever owned, out of 5 cars including a 94 ford tbird lx, 98 gmc sonoma sls, 95 lexus es 300, and a 99 honda accord ex, my scion soars over them with ease in performance, comfort and all around excitement on the road. I wouldn't trade my scion tc for the world, unless that is lexus offers me a IS 350...hehe
Typically Toyota
My wife started out wanting a Honda Civic. She test drove a Civic and then we visited the Toyota dealership where she test drove the Scion tC. We bought it based on good looks, value, and its much quieter ride than the Civic. She has driven the car since 5/06 with no problems. The car is reliable (typical Toyota), comfortable, good on gas and always gets a second glance. The Scion's automatic transmission shifts flawlessly and has good power from the time tested Camry 4-cyl engine. I highly recommend a test drive, you'll buy one too.
Fun, Fun, Fun
The tC is a great car! I've owned it for one year and I love it. It is fun to drive and peppy. My freinds and co-workers all want to drive it. It has only one minor problem which is a squeek under the dash below the steering column at times. I bought this car to commute to work and enjoy the ride, even in traffic. It has a great stance and looks somewhat like a BMW. What you get for the money in this car cannot be beat by any manufacurer. It will last because it's a Toyota. A co- worker has tried to by a used one but can't find one except for $2,000 more than what I paid new. That should speak volumes about the resale value. I highly recommend this car.
The Best car for the money!!
I got my 2006 Scion tC about a months ago. I traded in a 2000 Nissan Maxima. I'm really happy that I bought it becouse it has a lot of standart options such as one touch power windows, a panoramic roof (sunroof and moonroof), folding rear seats, tire pressure sensor, 4 wheel ABS, an MP3 player, 160hp and 163 lb/ft torque, and Toyota quality!
My Scion
It is different. I like the size, it's not too small, just right. I love the panoramic sunroof. It gets attention everywhere I go. Fixing it up is lots of fun. The radio is cool too.
TC is OK
For the price, i have been very happy. I love the fact (trust) that the engine is based on the existing long tested 4cyl. I believe it could use a little more power, but the supercharger is an option. The interior design is better than some cars I've seen at much higher prices. Overall, been driving this for 2 months and could not be happier. It was a good buying experience and even better ownership experience. Definetly recommending this model
Best Car I've ever had
This car is the best value on the market. For all the features that you get on a base model, this car is a steal. I'm even bold enough to say that this car is better than a Civic or any other car just like it.
Love to Drive
I recently purchased the Scion tC. I would give the handling and performance two thumbs up. I have had a lot of fun so far driving it and would recommend the car to others.
What a great car!
Forget "great car for the money," this is a great car period! It's has great acceleration, handles decently, shifts like a hot knife through warm butter, gets good fuel milage, tons of standard features, booming system, etc. Considering that you walk out the door (tax, licence, etc. included) for under 18K this car cannot be beat! I test drove a Mazda 3, Ford Focus, Acura RSX, and Hyundai Tiberon (all more expensive with the features I wanted) and although they are all great car and were fun to drive, I couldn't ignore the value of the tC vs. the competition.
Still fantastic
I've already put 14,000 miles on my 2006 Scion tC and it is still fantastic. I love it more than ever. It is outstanding in every category. I have not had any problems.
scion tc
so far its been everything I wanted in a car
Great Car!
This is a great car! I had problems before with a Mazda but this surpassed all my expectations!! I highly reccomend, plus you will fall in love with it when you hop in the drivers seat!
Would be a perfect car for a teenager
I bought my 2006 tc brand new. At first I loved it because of all the options. You really can't get as many for the price. The dual sunroof was really neat, steering wheel controls were nice. Good price and good deal, but too much plastic everywhere. Car is very cookie cutter. The weird cover over the radio always seemed annoying. I got plenty of looks and comments, but all from 16 year old kids when getting my car washed. Had to get rid of it and get an "adult" car. Nice, quick, but VERY TINY little car. Don't expect anyone to get in the back seat. Perfect for a teen, which is what Scion targets anyway...my bad...
