my scion tC
I love my new Scion, the only way I can describe the fun I have with it, is that there is no way to describe how fun it is unless you get your own. Scion cars will be the next Lexus, or the new Mercedes for the years to come, but you wont have to pay an arm and a leg for the car of your dreams. Scion tCs are deffinetly eye catching, and are awesome to drive. I plan on getting another tC soon but the next one will be manual and supercharged. I will show people what this car can do, and what its capability is. Whether it be on a straight away or on the drift course. This car can do it!
Black Cherry Pearl
There is so much that you can do to the Scion tC. I have had the tC for about 5 months now. I still cant make up my mind on what I want to do to it.

Love It!
When the gas prices started rocketing, I thought it best to get rid of my beloved Jeep Wrangler. What I ended up with was the hotest car on the market for the price, the Scion tC. Instead of the 15 mpg / hwy that I was getting I now get 30!!
Good little car
I have had this car now for about 8 months, and it was a change going from a Camry to the tC. The car has good take off, and I have had no problem with the handling. It is a fun little car to drive.
Great Car!
I have owned this car for a little less than a year. My first problem was when I was driving it home from the dealership. I had opened and closed the sunroof at the dealership and driving home it was making a terrible loud sound. I found out the rubber between the sunroof and windshield was loose. Got that glued back down and now it's fine. My only other real problem is that it's a terrible in the snow! I live in South Dakota and this car is the worst car I have ever driven in the winter!
Happy Owner
The Scion tC is great looking and performs well, the only thing I dislike about it is the fuel economy. When you run the car at anything lower than 2,000 rpm it dosen't have enough power to pull, but if you push it to 3,000 rpm you waste fuel very fast. It is well built though. Other than those few issues the car is wonderfull, I would have expected foreign tire son on the car like Toyo or Yokohama since it is Japanese. I will be adding a turbo to the car to help me go faster and maybe an ECU chip to replace the factory one. I race though and expect more, but for a daily driver, this car is good.
Sweet Car
I've been thorougly impressed with my tC so far. With its peppy engine, great build quality, sweet standard rims, long list of stock features, and more room at every seat (including all 3 backseats) than a 4-door Honda Civic or Volkswagen Jetta, the tC's been great. I love the sport seats that standard, and the ability to tune this thing out like crazy. There's decent trunk room for a coupe, and the car looks amazing in black when it's clean and the rims are shined up. Can't even say how many great comments I've gotten on it, and how many people asking what kind of car it is, and then going on to say how cool it is, especially for under 18 grand. A 5 star car at a bargain price.
Excellent
I have loved my Scion tC from the day I picked it up at the dealership. It handles so very well for me. The pickup is great when starting up. I am a short woman and I love that the car doesn't seem to overwhelm me with size.
Supercharged Review
I've put 13,000 miles on my tC now in 6 months. I've added the TRD supercharger to it and have driven on it for 7,000 miles. The car is a blast to drive. The power output with the supercharger is much higher than what TRD claimed (I've had my car tested). The stock tires are quite crappy. You'll definitely need to replace them before too long. The supercharger is quiet and very reliable. The power output is good, yet not too much. The TRD supercharger is warrantied with the rest of my powertrain, so I feel comfortable about the extra power boost. If you're going to get the supercharger installed by a dealer, though, make sure they have done the installation before. This is the best car I've owned.
I'm in love
My parents just bought me a 2006 Scion tC, and I love the standard features. I had looked at others like Mazdas and Hondas which were in the same price range, but in order to get features like alloy wheels, and a sunroof, a nice stereo, the price then shot up. I did something gutsy; I never test drove it and asked for it anyway. Now that i have it, I love it. I love the way it drives. It's got great pick up or for a 4 banger. It also has a real smooth ride, and nice roomy front and back seats. This is an awesome car. I love it and it loves me.
Excellent
The Scion tC is fast and affordable and offers more standard features than any car in it's class with a better price tag. The car deliver's excellent performance and a fun-to-drive experience without drawing too much attention from the authorities. Plus it has that legendary Toyota quality.
great car for the price
I would def recommend this car to anyone I have had this car since it was a yr old bought it w 22k on it it now has 68k and have never had one thing ever wrong with it I bought an extended warranty and now am realizing I wont need it I changed the break pads once and that's all it needed very easy to maintain your self and w a few after market parts its even better I put lowering springs cold air intake and trd exhaust and its def quicker def wont beat an si or corolla xrs but is def quicker than other similarly priced cars I have had only hondas and im impressed with my Toyota although if I could have afforded it I prob woulda got the si but none the less this I am happy with the tc
This car ROCKS!
I love this car. Is it very fast, I have found that it goes almost as fast (in the 0-60 and highest speed) as a Porsche. Yeah. It is pretty nimble and trust me, I push it. They are hot cars and totally blow the Hyundai Tiburon and Honda Civic out of the water for how cheap they are. The all-glass roofs rock my face off. And you can upgrade almost everything which is nice. It needs more power though or at least it needs more rumble.
Fantastic
This car is wonderful. It is fast, turns heads, and gets pretty good gas mileage for such a sporty car. I previously drove a Honda Civic and this just blows the doors off in comparison. In its price range, it is really untouchable. I spent a great deal of time comparing cars and was, at first, wary because I did not have much familiarity with the brand. Any trepidation I had was completely unfounded. My experience at the dealership was straightforward and low pressure. I strongly recommend that any person looking for a great looking and affordable car that handles well give the Scion tC some serious consideration.
Super White tC
This car is lots of fun to drive, it has good pretty good handling and the acceleration is nice considering its a 160 hp car.
Great Buy
I am new to Toyota / Scion and very imprested with the car and company. This car is a great value.
Love It
I love my Scion tC. I would definitely buy one again. It is the most fun that you can get for your money. No car is more fun driving around town. Its low end torque is amazing. The tires want to chirp. The stereo wants to blast. This car is a blast, and it's comfortable. It is great on the highway, too.
Not Feeling My tC
I have had this car from 77 miles to 57000 miles and I have been trying to get rid of it since 5000 miles. I must admit the car is fun to drive at times but compared to 75% of the other cars on the road its not much power under the hood. The only time I feel like its fast is when I am the only car on the road. The gas mileage stinks, I get 265 out of a full tank and the dealership tells me its because of "winter" gas in the winter and "summer" gas in the summer. The worst part is that loud whistling from the sunroof that toyota refuses to look at unless I pay them. Its time for me to move on.
Mixed Feelings
I have had my tC a little over a year and have had no problems out of it whatsoever. It is still very fun to drive, even after having it a year. It is pretty spacious for a two-door car, but I will stick to four-doors from now on. It is a smooth, comfortable ride with no rattling or shaking. I just calculated my MPG and got about 28 city, 31 hwy, which is good but could be better for a small car. The sound system is great and the pioneer CD player and speakers are very high quality. The road noise is relatively quiet for having low- profile tires. Despite its sporty look, the steering is not very nimble. Overall, I have enjoyed my car, but it could definitely use some improvement.
One Great Little Car!
I love this car! I'm close to 40 and thought that I wouldn't like this kind of car. However, it's fabulous and great to drive! I did have a rattle in the trunk but was easily fixed at the dealership. For the price, it's a great car!
Quick Hatchback for the money!
This is a nice 3 door car for the cash. The standard goodies are a really nice surprize for under $17,000. So far the gas mileage is better than the EPA estimate of of 22/29. It's more like 24/31, which is not bad for a 2.4 liter! The fit and finish are great for any car in this segment. Honda is all I have ever owned and now I'm a Toyota believer! A test drive is the only way to see for yourself.
Scion tC
The Scion tC has a great ride, but they could have fancied up the inside more. Scion could have made sure the rubber pieces on the outside were snuggly and securely fit as in around the windows ..etc... Having said this, overall this is a good car for the money.
My Favorite Car Ever
I have only had it for 100 miles, but I am already in love with it. The handling, the power, the long list of standard features. This car feels like $30m000, not the $17.500 I paid. The only option that we have is the sidecurtain airbags. We almost wrecked it with only 70 miles on the odometer! Some jerk tried to dart through three lanes of heavy traffic, then stopped. This was my first experience with 4 wheel ABS disc brakes. We managed to stop just inches from this fools door. The tC is a major bargain. It has lots of safety features. It is 100% Toyota with a Camry engine. I was looking for basic, reliable transportation, I ended up with all of that in cool little rocket!
The Scion tC is great!
The transmission in my Scion tC is smooth. It has a lot of horsepower (160) for a cheap price. I think it's the best buy I have ever made. There are also so many modifications that you can do to this car. They are pretty cheap, too. The engine quality for this inexpensive a car is amazing. I lvoe the 2.4L VVT-i DOHC. I also like that it's a 5-speed and not a 6-speed transmission. I mean I can use the gears longer before I need to shift, which is better for racing. The fuel economy is pretty damn good, too.
my toy
I really like my new scion tC. It's so much fun to drive compared to so many other cars in it's price range. It's the best buy on the market for now. Toyota did a good job with this car.
Just a great car
I have enjoyed driving this vehicle since the first test drive. It has all the capability's of sports car, and the looks of an expensive luxury coupe. People do not believe the price I paid. Took it on its first road trip (a 1600 mile round trip). Having cruise control on a 5sp was nice. From full (F) to very close to empty (E), i was over 410 miles before i filled up. The added performance parts made by toyota and put on by toyota does not affect the warranty, which makes the little extra power and performance handling awesome. Oh yeah, how could i forget the reclining back seat. unbelievable.
Great Car
I just got this car a couple of days ago and all I can say is WOW. This car is amazing, it comes with so many things that you wouldn't expect from a $17,000 car. I would recommend this car to anyone!
Poor Replacement for the Celica
I went to the dealership ready to trade in my '92 Celica (one of the greatest toyotas ever made). The Celica I thought had made me a Toyota driver for life. I just couldn't do it. I saw the tC and sat in it and I loved it. Then I drove it. It was not teribly powerful, kind of peppy but not very and it handeled like I'd expect a large sedan not a small coupe. It weighs at least 500 lbs. more than it should with most of the weight up front. This car plows like no other car I've driven (plowing is not a good thing).
Solid Car that's Stylish too
This car is my first new car purchase, after graduating college I was looking for a stylish looking car that would be reliable as well. The scion tC is that car. Pros: Great looking, nice stereo, quick for a 4-cyl., interior design is stylish, back seats a roomy and all seats are comfortable and this car defenitly looks more exensive than it is (will get expensive when you add options like I did) and you can customize it. Cons: loud engine, rims scratch real easy, small trunk (but who really cares about trunk space). Overall I give this car a B and it is the perfect choice for a first car.
Items to be aware of...
We bought our tC new. We do love it but there are some build quality issues that need to be dealt with. The back panel, at the trunk release, broke off. The C-pillar air bag covers have popped off. The vent fan squeals and sometimes has stopped (that's fun in the blazing summer). Our breaks needed to be replaced at 33k miles and we don't drive hard or jam our foot into them. The tires are low profile and develop breaks in the sidewall radials easily if a hole or other bump is hit just right. The tires are also expensive and don't gain traction well on wet pavement and easily break loose. With continued use the seats don't stay in place when slid forward when accessing the back seat.
Awesome car, Terrible dealership
I got my car in June, and I absolutely love it! I got it for a great price, and it is so much fun to drive. Theres so many aftermarket parts too, so it's extremely easy to customize your car to make it solely yours. I got hit pretty badly toward the end of August in my car, and I wasn't hurt at all, which was pretty surprising. And much to my surprise, the car wasn't too expensive to fix either. Overall, I don't feel like I could have made a better choice buying this car.
Solid tC
The 2006 Scion tC comes with great standard features and is fun to drive. I've had mine for just over four months and I can't imagine having bought any other car. I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision.
Black Tc
The car looks like a high quality car but the inside seems to have gaps like in the dor way every thing is good the sterio cover is a good idea but some times it wont shut i have 12,000 mi and every one of them had laughs and smiles to go with them
Great Car-@ a great price
I've had the car for almost a year and love it! I am getting better milage than the EPA. On trips I get from 31 to 34 MPG (EPA rated at 29 hwy) The only item I would change is to add a 6 speed. On the HWY another gear would be nice.
Great for casual luxury
I love my Scion tC. It's reliable and affordable. You can't go wrong with this car. There is so much you can to to it as well. It looks mostly like a girlie car though. Guys just dont look right in one of these. Replace the tiers. I blew one out and it set me back about $250.
Awesome Car
The Scion tC is the best bang for the buck. It looks awesome and the interior is made from top quality materials. I love it and reccomend it to anyone. One more thing, I recommend the TRD exhaust, it sounds amazing.
2006 Scion tC
I fully enjoy my new Scion tC. It has great visibility and it handles the road really well. It is a nice car for the price.
Scion Warranty is Worthless
2006 Scion TC, normal usage, 23k miles and clutch goes out. Scion claims "wear & tear" and totally walks away from their warranty. I will never buy another Toyota/Scion product again!
Loving this Car
The worst thing about my Scion tC was having to wait four weeks to get it! I absolutely love this car. It's sleek, sporty, and sexy, yet comfortable, roomy, and reliable. I'm so pleased with the quality of car I received for the small price I paid - and can't get over how LOADED it comes in the base model. It drives smoothly and accelerates nicely, hugs curves, and catches the eye of so many other drivers (I see you looking!). It's an absolute gem.
My Baby!
Before I got my 2006 Scion tC i drove a '96 Cavalier! What a huge difference difference! I love how smooth it drives and it's so quiet! It is my first new car, and my first purchase. I'm only 18, and I'm nervous about the payments for the next 6 years - but I know Toyota's warranty will take care of me!
Nice car for $17,000
The Scion tC is a great car. It's agile, quick, and sporty. The rear seats have plenty of room and they recline and fold forward for more space. The standard Pioneer stereo is nice, it needs more watts though. The glass top is cool, not many cars have that. This car needs a 6-speed transmission not a 5-speed, unless you drive 55 you will not see that 30 mpg on the highway. 70 mph runs you @ 3,500 rpm. This car has lots of torque down low, and a forgiving clutch.
Scion tC rules!!!!
The car is sharp, it runs great, and I haven't found one thing I don't like about it yet
Great Car!
Having driven a Chevy Tahoe previously, I am very satisfied with the performance and reliability of the 2006 Scion tC. I originally purchased them for two teenagers in the family, but I fell in love with it and am now driving it 80% of the time. We may have to get another one in the near future! The price of the tC is very reasonable and insurance is not excessively high. I had wanted a Ford Mustang, but decided against it. The tC may look compact but the back seat is very roomy for someone of average height. The ride is rough at times, but it gives you that sport car feel to it. It has great acceleration and braking power. The tC is fun to drive and handles well.
Highly Recommended
The Scion tC is a great buy for the money. The car is well built, looks great, drives well, and is loaded with standard features. The azure blue color looks great in the day and brilliant at night. I waited three long months for this color with side airbags but it was worth it. The car does need more headroom if you are over six feet tall, and I am only getting 20 MPG with mostly local driving though.
Great Car
The Scion tC is a better Toyota Celica. I added leather seats and a quick shifter and its the best new car I ever had, over the Mazda RX-7, Celica GTS, and Camaro Z28.
The Best car for the money!!
I got my 2006 Scion tC about a months ago. I traded in a 2000 Nissan Maxima. I'm really happy that I bought it becouse it has a lot of standart options such as one touch power windows, a panoramic roof (sunroof and moonroof), folding rear seats, tire pressure sensor, 4 wheel ABS, an MP3 player, 160hp and 163 lb/ft torque, and Toyota quality!
My Scion
It is different. I like the size, it's not too small, just right. I love the panoramic sunroof. It gets attention everywhere I go. Fixing it up is lots of fun. The radio is cool too.
TC is OK
For the price, i have been very happy. I love the fact (trust) that the engine is based on the existing long tested 4cyl. I believe it could use a little more power, but the supercharger is an option. The interior design is better than some cars I've seen at much higher prices. Overall, been driving this for 2 months and could not be happier. It was a good buying experience and even better ownership experience. Definetly recommending this model
Best Car I've ever had
This car is the best value on the market. For all the features that you get on a base model, this car is a steal. I'm even bold enough to say that this car is better than a Civic or any other car just like it.
Love to Drive
I recently purchased the Scion tC. I would give the handling and performance two thumbs up. I have had a lot of fun so far driving it and would recommend the car to others.
