Six months ago I traded in my Scion xB for a tC to satisfy for my need to speed. I'm totally in love with this car. Its handling and looks are great. If I totaled it tomorrow I would get the exact same car. It's super fast, I never a problem passing anybody. It's hard not to burn rubber when taking off from a stop.

Had trouble finding a dealer that would sell a tC basically stock. I ordered it thanks to an Edmunds.com referal. Ordered on a Wednesday, picked it up the following Wednesday. All I added was the mats.

Driving the Scion tC is amazing. It's smooth and has great pick up. It's a sporty car which is good for an 18 year-old like myself. I'm a proud owner and I love that the tC is a reliable car and from the makers at Toyota.

I have read all the reviews about this being a great car for teenagers, but I'm in my late 40s, and I love it, too! Roomy, dependable, FUN to drive (we old-timers like to have fun rides, too, you know!). Great interior design, especially the radio cover and SSP choices for audio. Lots of room in back for teenage kids + gear, and very comfortable for them with the reclining rear seats. Plenty of storage space, especially with the rear seats folded, and more than any other vehicle I've ever owned with the front passenger seat folded. I went looking for a cheap, high gas mileage, family car, and feel like I have a luxury car!

For me, an inner-city person who's travelling is 95% within the city, this is an ideal car. I choose this car due to my priorities which are: fuel efficiency, safety, and fun to drive. The tC is very fast on the acceleration, very manueverable, and quiet. This car is a beauty, the sound system makes gridlock an opportunity to enjoy good music in a good environment. Parking is never a problem due the tC's size and nimble handling. The power to weight ratio seems to be terribly high - so watch out!

First off those people begging for a windshield sun strip: It looks awful on the tC. I had the tint applied at the dealership and was glad when given the option to decline the windshield tint. I started off my car buying experience special ordering a Toyota Corolla S edition. After waiting several weeks I went back to the dealership and picked up a black Scion tC. I am very happy that I changed my mind. The decked out Corolla only had one more feature than the tC, which was leather. Thinking about it now though, I wish I had chosen the leather.

The transmission in my Scion tC is smooth. It has a lot of horsepower (160) for a cheap price. I think it's the best buy I have ever made. There are also so many modifications that you can do to this car. They are pretty cheap, too. The engine quality for this inexpensive a car is amazing. I lvoe the 2.4L VVT-i DOHC. I also like that it's a 5-speed and not a 6-speed transmission. I mean I can use the gears longer before I need to shift, which is better for racing. The fuel economy is pretty damn good, too.

I have enjoyed driving this vehicle since the first test drive. It has all the capability's of sports car, and the looks of an expensive luxury coupe. People do not believe the price I paid. Took it on its first road trip (a 1600 mile round trip). Having cruise control on a 5sp was nice. From full (F) to very close to empty (E), i was over 410 miles before i filled up. The added performance parts made by toyota and put on by toyota does not affect the warranty, which makes the little extra power and performance handling awesome. Oh yeah, how could i forget the reclining back seat. unbelievable.

Poor Replacement for the Celica

I went to the dealership ready to trade in my '92 Celica (one of the greatest toyotas ever made). The Celica I thought had made me a Toyota driver for life. I just couldn't do it. I saw the tC and sat in it and I loved it. Then I drove it. It was not teribly powerful, kind of peppy but not very and it handeled like I'd expect a large sedan not a small coupe. It weighs at least 500 lbs. more than it should with most of the weight up front. This car plows like no other car I've driven (plowing is not a good thing).

We bought our tC new. We do love it but there are some build quality issues that need to be dealt with. The back panel, at the trunk release, broke off. The C-pillar air bag covers have popped off. The vent fan squeals and sometimes has stopped (that's fun in the blazing summer). Our breaks needed to be replaced at 33k miles and we don't drive hard or jam our foot into them. The tires are low profile and develop breaks in the sidewall radials easily if a hole or other bump is hit just right. The tires are also expensive and don't gain traction well on wet pavement and easily break loose. With continued use the seats don't stay in place when slid forward when accessing the back seat.

I've had the car for almost a year and love it! I am getting better milage than the EPA. On trips I get from 31 to 34 MPG (EPA rated at 29 hwy) The only item I would change is to add a 6 speed. On the HWY another gear would be nice.

The Scion tC is a great buy for the money. The car is well built, looks great, drives well, and is loaded with standard features. The azure blue color looks great in the day and brilliant at night. I waited three long months for this color with side airbags but it was worth it. The car does need more headroom if you are over six feet tall, and I am only getting 20 MPG with mostly local driving though.

I have had this car from 77 miles to 57000 miles and I have been trying to get rid of it since 5000 miles. I must admit the car is fun to drive at times but compared to 75% of the other cars on the road its not much power under the hood. The only time I feel like its fast is when I am the only car on the road. The gas mileage stinks, I get 265 out of a full tank and the dealership tells me its because of "winter" gas in the winter and "summer" gas in the summer. The worst part is that loud whistling from the sunroof that toyota refuses to look at unless I pay them. Its time for me to move on.

I bought this car for my daughter based on Toyota reliability and the price. I special ordered it to get the color and head air bag package. It turned out to be a great call because my daughter walked and passenger walked away from a 70 mph double roll over accident. The car was totaled but I am going to replace it with an identical model. This is a very safe car! The only issue I found during this accident was both sunroofs shattered in a million small pieces of glass. Nobody got even scratched because the head airbags deployed evidently shielding the passengers from the glass

I bought this car for 2 reasons. #1 interior shape (hatchback) for a 3 subwoofer horn loaded configuration and #2 price since I was putting $7K into the sound system. 2000 W into 2x10" + 1x15" sub with 9 cabin speakers custom door pods and Morel dome/MB Quart Premium speakers - awesome sound quality. Professionally installed by the owner of Audio North West, the sound system is Incredible (and I have a lot of audio stuff for comparison). A side benefit is the ride. Hard corners a bit soft but good controlled drift w/e-brake, will install sport suspension. Minor tuning mods, upgrading to 18" XXR rims and Potenza tires this week. AWESOME platform for REAL car audio and it has enough kick - FUN

I traded in my '03 Hyundai Tiburon for a black tC and I couldn't be happier. I drive a lot of different late model cars and pickups at my job, but this tC is the perfect balance in my eyes of performance (160 horses is plenty if you're not planning on racing anybody), looks (I get plenty of double-takes at stoplights), and most importantly, VALUE. The features that come for the $18,000 or so you pay are EXCEPTIONAL.

I'm in my late 40's and have never been one to get very excited about cars. I took a test drive just for fun in a 2006 Scion tC and instantly fell in love with the body style, handling and curves of interior. When I compared it to the Civic and Corrolla in terms of price and features the decision was hands down for the tC. I have read over 50 pages of reviews by owners and agree it is a major fun to drive. You tend to smile every time you get in it, and I am serious about that. People honestly think it is in the $25,000 - $30,000 price range. Its gas milege can be a little low though. I am averaging 25ish during the break in period but word is after 3,000 miles of break and adding a non-stock air filter 29 is possible.

3 and half years and 41,000 miles later the car still runs like the day I drove it off the lot. Since I just recently paid it off, I decided to buy and install the TRD Supercharger to renew my overall interest in the car. This upgrade brings my performance rating from a 7.0 to a 9.5 (rounded to 10). The charger is smooth and quiet and makes 2nd through 5th gear a blast. The manual gearbox is fun once you become acquainted with the clutch. The car just looks gorgeous with ground effects and spoiler. I loved my tC before the forced induction but now we're on a whole new level.

Great fit and finish with nice exterior details. We get stopped all of the time with questions about the car. Looks great in silver! The tC has a very good ride/handling balance. It is a firm ride, but not bone jarring. Great performance for a 4cylinder automatic. Fun to drive and I would recommend to anyone.

If I want very good mileage it is imperative I was premium gasline, which is pricey these days. I got mine with a pedestal spoiler and Borla cat back exhaust. I love it. The tC is a great car in a lot of ways. It's very fun to drive, people like to look especially the ladies, and there is so much that you can use this car for. It is the easiest car to park and it's very fuel efficient. The standard audio system is exceptional.

I replaced my 96 Ford Probe GT with a lowered (TRD springs) dark blue, 5- speed Scion tC. Its perfect, quiet, gets great mpg, and looks the part. Everyone that has looked at it thinks I made a great purchase and they are all right on the money. My first 331 miles netted 28.4 mpg. It should get better with a good break-in to! I also had heated seats and floor mats added but nothing else. I suggest you look at it if your in this market because you get Toyota build quality and some great looks to boot. Also with it being a hatchback you can't believe how much stuff you can get in one to. Buy one they rock!

I got my 2006 Scion tC about 3 months ago and couldn't be happier. I traded in a 2000 Mercury Mystique, called the poor man's BMW. There's nothing out there in the entry level compact car. I researched the Mazda 3, Ford Focus, Nissan Sentra, and Honda Civic (no Korean cars, though), and the best bang for my buck was the tC. Did you know they're monospec? It means there is only one base model, but... The base model comes with power windows both with one touch activation, panorama roof and moonroof, mp3 player, 160hp and 163 lb/ft torque, and best of all... Toyota reliability! Only complaint is the aft panel in the roof sometimes rattles on bad roads, but what do you expect from a $17,000 car?

I've owned this car for about 2 and half years now. I absolutely love it! The backseat is roomier than my friend's Corolla, the interior and exterior design is refreshing and cute, and the ride is unbelievably smooth and quiet. I still get second glances at my car- -and it's over two years old! I've never had a single problem out of it. The features that are found on the TC are amazing and unrivaled by any other small car (Satellite interface, plenty of aux. ports, 17" rims, power side mirrors, turn signal on side mirrors, etc). The car has some serious pep, the air conditioning works like a charm, and the handling is great! Even the gas mileage is pretty darn decent! Such a great lil car!

I absolutely LOVE this car! I am having to sell mine because my husband and I have another baby on the way and having a 2 door isn't practical. When I was buying a car it was between the acura two door car and the scion. The scion tC won because it is so roomy even for such a little car. The interior looks amazing and it is so easy to clean. It has great pick up and it is so much fun to drive. Even my 52 year old dad loves to drive this car. Awesome little car!

The tC has adequate power but it won't overwhealm you. The seats are very comfortable bu a little wide. The interior looks beautiful with high quality materials that look like they belong on a car that costs a lot more. I have had at least 3 or 4 people come up to me and ask me about it and if I like the car. It rides pretty stiff on large wheels and a taught suspension so if a cushy ride is what you are looking for, this isn't it. In conclusion, the tC is a great car and you just can't find a better car out there for less money.

This car is unbeatable for the number of standard features at it's price point. The no-haggle "pure pricing" of the car was a big plus. I passed on all the dealer options except the side curtain airbags and iPod upgrade (which is worth the extra $ IMO). The stock radio is sufficient. This car has a comfortable and uncomplicated interior design. I like the convenience of having a hatchback. Everyone who has sat in back says the back seats are very comfortable. While I've read other reviews complaining about blind spots, I haven't found it to be a problem. The ride is comfortable and the engine is plenty peppy enough for me. It has good handling and a good turning radius

For the price, the value is amazing. It has a great stereo. The sunroof system is very good with two glass panels to let in the light. The sunroof wind noise is far less than in my 2003 Mini Cooper. I drove nearly 900 miles in one day. The seat adjustments are excellent, especially when you consider that I believe the seats are more comfortable than those in my BMW M3. My friends compliment the brightness of the headlights, even with the fog lights off. It even has an arm rest with sweet sections to hide things so those outside can't see them!

Overall the scion has been the best car I have ever owned, out of 5 cars including a 94 ford tbird lx, 98 gmc sonoma sls, 95 lexus es 300, and a 99 honda accord ex, my scion soars over them with ease in performance, comfort and all around excitement on the road. I wouldn't trade my scion tc for the world, unless that is lexus offers me a IS 350...hehe

I simply love this car! I bought it two weeks ago and it is my first new car. I am getting ready to leave for graduate school and I wanted a reliable car that looked good, had many standard features, yet was safe. This car definitely meets all those catagories. The car is also extremely comfortable on long drives and in the city it performs like a dream. Maybe it is the fact that it is my first new car, but I would definitely recommend this car for the first time new car buyer!

The tC is a great car! I've owned it for one year and I love it. It is fun to drive and peppy. My freinds and co-workers all want to drive it. It has only one minor problem which is a squeek under the dash below the steering column at times. I bought this car to commute to work and enjoy the ride, even in traffic. It has a great stance and looks somewhat like a BMW. What you get for the money in this car cannot be beat by any manufacurer. It will last because it's a Toyota. A co- worker has tried to by a used one but can't find one except for $2,000 more than what I paid new. That should speak volumes about the resale value. I highly recommend this car.

I took delivery of the new 06 Scion TC two weeks ago. I have owned other sporty cars from Toyota and Honda. For the money this is the best car I have ever owned. It comes standard with a long list of premium features and screams Toyota quality. If you compare the TC with sporty cars from Honda, Mazda and even Toyotas, you can't beat the value.
