SCION TC
HAVE FOUND THAT THE ROOF RATTLES AND CREAKS ALOT. HAVE THE CAR ONE WEEK, AND IS IN FOR SERVICE. EVER TIME I MAKE A TURN, THERE IS A CRACK IN THE CAR. WICKED FLEX PROBLEM IN THE SUNROOF AREA. ALSO SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING LOOOSE IN THE ROOF PANELS. HANDLING IS GOOD--POWER IS AMPLE. I'M NOT A GENERATION Y KID---I'M 57, AND WANTED A SMALL PERFORANCE SEDAN. AM WAITING FOR THE SUPERCHARGER.--- HAVE TO LEARN TO WEAR MY PANTS DOWN BY MY KNEES, AND MY HAT TO THE SIDE. FUN TO DRIVE HOPE THEY CAN FIX ALL THE PROBLEMS IN THE ROOF. AM ALSO HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE RADIO DOOR---HIT AND MISS OPENING IT UP CHASBO

Scion tC, if your taller than 5' 5"
If your taller than 5' 5", this car is probably not for you. I'm 5' 10" tall and I have had the seats in every position. There is no position that I am comfortable in. The steering wheel is too far forward for the average height of a man. When the steering wheel is in a comfortable position my legs are in the birthing position and very cramped. When my legs are comfortable, my arms are fully extended. Don't even think about being able to recline the driver's seat, you'll never reach the steering wheel. Toyota needs to take men who are taller than 5' 5" into consideration when designing vehicles. Otherwise the car is excellent in all other aspects, but the lack of comfort ruins the whole car for me.
Great Car for the Money
One of the happiest days for me was when I drove away with a new '05 Scion tC. It's an all around great car and when it comes to durability, the fact that it's a Toyota speaks for itself. It has some pretty good power thanks to Toyota's modifying the Camry engine to boost the torque. The only complaint that I have are the following: the sunroof rattles (Toyota mechanics were baffled and couldn't fix it), it has loud engine noise, the seat material is cheap and uncomfortable, it has ultra-cheap side mirrors and sunroof cover, and finally... the paint and interior plastic scratches easily. Still, these were minor problems and for the money, you get all the goodies for the biggest bang for your buck!
Great Car, Except for the Gas Mileage
My family loved our Scion tC until my daughter totaled it. It has a simple elegant style. The engine was plenty strong. The standard features that came with it were great. When we compared it to similarly equipped Honda Civics, VWs, Mazda3s, Toyota Corrolas none of them impressed us like the tC. Our big complaint was poor gas mileage. We may buy something else now due to the gas mileage. If a 6-speed transmission was put in, that might solve the problem. It tached at 3,000rpm at 65 mph. There wouldn't be reason not to buy the tC if the gas mileage was fixed.
