At least it looks sporty...
Ok, here goes. I've had this car for 3 years. I live in the southwest and it gets' hot. The air in this car doesn't get cold, I guess it's too much Glass to effectively cool also my sun-visor broke 3 months ago. I agree the skin is too weak to absorb any impact. You will find within weeks that the acres of smooth well fitted sheet metal are too much temptation for rude parking neighbors to resist. I have so many dents and dings I lost count, and I park far away from the doors! The engine is good for the price. But it's def not a sports car. Then handling is "so, so". Biggest complaint is Toyota's "debilitating" maintenance schedule. Unless your name is Rockefeller don't plan on keeping up.
Great Value
I recently purchased a tc, I am very pleased with it. The car itself is a great value with excellent standard features. It is clear that the profit margin for the vehicle is made on scion accessories. I don't know that any of the accessories are a great buy. For instance I can get chrome wheel locks for $25 and scion is asking $49. This is just the beginning. You can't beat this car at this price, but consider going to other vendors for accessories.

Fun to Drive, but Lots of Problems
I see everyone loves this car, and I do too except for all of the problems! Rattles, rattles everywhere. My sunroof doesn't close, front brakes make a clicking noise constantly, hatch rattles, dashboard rattles and squeeks. it also doesn't help that my dealership is terrible. I probably have the most mileage of anyone I have talked to (24,000), but the car just doesn't seem to be holding up well. The paint is very cheap, the front of the car has so many scratches and chips you can't even see the color of the car (indigo ink). Overall I love the car, I just hate all the issues it has. I will be returning to Honda now that the new Civic is out.
Great, Except for Minor Things
We were the first Scion tC owners in our area, buying the first one to hit the local dealership. Our tC now has 45,000 miles on it with no engine problems. It has been a blast to drive. There is plenty of room in front, and the engine is peppy, though a turbo would be extra cool. I drive through a tight hair-pin down-hill grade every morning to work. I have noticed that the tC handles nicely and I frequently pass more expensive sports cars with ease. I'd say the tC is a great deal for the money. Our only complaint is the paint does not hold up at all! There are chips and door-dings everywhere. The front bumper and head light domes are riddled with a permanent sandblast from driving in the desert.
Good car, but be careful...
While reading over the reviews of the `05 tC posted here, I agreed with everyones' comments but just wanted to inform all owners to be careful of a little problem. Up until a couple months ago I loved everything about my tC, but beware the wind deflector on the sunroof. As you all likely know, there was recently a recall for these requiring a laminate be installed. My warning: This laminate doesn't do its job. My fiancee and I were recently on vacation when the deflector decided to shatter out of nowhere, while driving, sending loose pieces of glass into the car, hitting myself in the arm and even scratching my fiance's sunglasses (I had the laminate prior to this). Just wanted to warn everyone.
