Used 2003 Saturn VUE Consumer Reviews
tons of trouble
Way too many problems. Creaking noise, at ear level, from door frames when rubber seal gets warm. Was told to live with the noise by 2 dealers. Fronts struts replaced twice. Heater sheild fixed twice. Handling & steering could be better. Very lould engine noise. Suspension could be better, plus rattles. Gas milage is ok. Muffler knocks. Play in the seats, also seat rod replaced due to noise. Both washer nozzles fell out. The VUE pulls when AWD kicks in. Lots of rattles, squeaks & noises.
Weekly Visits To Service
I purchased a 2002 Saturn VUE AWD 3L 6cyl last November 2002. Since I purchased the vehicle has been in for service four times. Three of the four times for the same problem. The SES light and the Power Reduction lights come on. The dealer puts the car on the computer and gets the codes. They replaced the wiring, the ignition chip, and now the on board computer. I am very unhappy with the quality of my VUE. Fortunately, all the service has been warranty 3yrs/36k. The dealership have been great in getting me rentals while the VUE is in the shop. Just a frustrated owner, since Saturn inception preaching Quality and Reliability.

Bought a better car!
My wife liked the Saturn better and I liked the Toyota RAV4 L. Next thing I knew, I got the VUE as a birthday gift. The Acceleration Sucks, 4 cylinder is loud, and the Seats are uncomfortable compared to my 1st pick, a RAV4. 5 months to the day, I traded at a loss for the better car, a RAV4 L and have been much happier since! Nothing holds up in value or comfort like a Toyota!
Stylish and commanding
Incredible machine for the money, beautiful ecotech world engine. Strong great on gas. Stlylish design, handles great, fun to drive and extremely dependable! Have put it in rough conditions and stills pull through with out a cough. Wow impressed with this gas saving SUV.
Saturn VUE
We bought a VUE in March 2003 because we needed the room for carrying items. It drives and rides well. It is high enough of the ground that I do not have to stoop down to get in. That is a back saver. We also like being up high so that we can see over the cars around us. One thing that I do not like. I understand that Saturn put a new auto transmission in this year. At times it has a tendency to slip and a gear change is not really smooth. Other than that - great vehicle.
