Used 2003 Saturn VUE Consumer Reviews
Our Life with the Vue
We really liked our Vue. We drove it across country and it was very comfortable. However, gas milage was TERRIBLE....we traded it in for an L- Series.
First week with the Vue
With the 5 speed manual transmission, the four cylinder engine is surprisingly zippy! The handling is very clean and confident. At last I have adequate leg room in a vehicle that gets around 30mpg. My over all impression is of a very tough, smooth running vehicle that gives me a great sense of safety, comfort and surprisingly good performance. The 5 speed manual is perfectly matched to the engine and body. If you can drive a standard, this is the best balanced combination of power, performance and quiet comfort. I love this car!

Saturn VUE
We bought a VUE in March 2003 because we needed the room for carrying items. It drives and rides well. It is high enough of the ground that I do not have to stoop down to get in. That is a back saver. We also like being up high so that we can see over the cars around us. One thing that I do not like. I understand that Saturn put a new auto transmission in this year. At times it has a tendency to slip and a gear change is not really smooth. Other than that - great vehicle.
tons of trouble
Way too many problems. Creaking noise, at ear level, from door frames when rubber seal gets warm. Was told to live with the noise by 2 dealers. Fronts struts replaced twice. Heater sheild fixed twice. Handling & steering could be better. Very lould engine noise. Suspension could be better, plus rattles. Gas milage is ok. Muffler knocks. Play in the seats, also seat rod replaced due to noise. Both washer nozzles fell out. The VUE pulls when AWD kicks in. Lots of rattles, squeaks & noises.
One Great SUV from Saturn
Overall I really enjoy the rugged appearance of the Vue. It is fun to drive, but I can't wait to buy the Vue Red Line. My younger children enjoy the DVD system. I really like it because it's just the right size, and can hold pretty much whatever you throw into it. I have peace of mind with its optional head curtain airbags, and its "Good" crash test raiting by the IIHS.
