A little good a little bad

I bought this Saturn at 100k and drove it for five years. I had to put a lot of money in up front (new tires, struts, some transmission work). Engine always ran fine. Metal shield on the bottom kept having to be re-riveted after it would start an awful rattle. City mileage 19(winter) to 25 (summer) in Chicago. A little too long but excellent cargo capacity. Eventually sold it to the mechanic after the alternator failed at 150k. Rugged basics, but many little repairs over time, EGR valve, front calipers, tie-rod, CV joint, corroded connecting between cat and muffler, fan belt wheel, etc...so heart of the car was solid, death by pin-pricks.

I am a very stuburn person when it comes to cars. I dislike American cars and I never wanted one. But I wanted a car fast so i bought the 1995 Saturn SC2 and it changed my view of Saturn forever. It is a great car. It is fun to drive, has good feul economy and it looks good as well. I would recommend the car for a person who is looking for their first car.

There are so few good American cars out there. But my Saturn has been great. It is reliable and gets me from point A to point B with no complaints. There is nothing snazzy about it. Just good, reliable transportation.

Seems I've had a similar experience to everyone on here. I had to replace my alternator 3 times in 190,000 miles, belt tension, pumps, no engine or transmission problems. I've been hit at high speeds twice, and the car held up well, especially against the fort explorer at 50 mph, amazingly well actually. The car has never let me down, when something breaks you know it's coming. I want to get a new car, but i keep thinking. How much more can this thing go??? I've had it since 1999 and this thing has saved me a lot of money. I know when i turn the key its going to start. I think my car is actually coming back into style I've had it for so long :)

My Saturn

My car was a tough guy. I drove it hard and it took quite a punishement and still would go down the road. Only complaint is it used oil. Bad rings since 60,000, but took almost 90K more before I had a real issue with the oil leak.
