Really? 2023 and this van is still total crap!
9 speed tranny that only uses 6 gears! Tranny skips from 2nd to 4th, freezes up and shuts down! Brakes squeal loud on a brand new vehicle!!??! Engine revs up 3-4000 rpms sitting at trarric light! Dash lights never worked. All back doors rattle and leak. Oil leak on a brand new vehicle!? I put 75 miles on it and that was all my nerves could stand! Service dept has had it and could only fix dash lights. Informed Fiat chrysler of my intent to file lemon law action as this Mexican pile of garbage isn't worth a tank of gas.

Great work van.
I bought my 2018 Promaster brand new. I have only had issues with the sliding door catch mechanisms, which is an expensive fix. The warranty covered it for both sliding doors a little over a year into me having it, then they both went bad again, but I had to fork out the expensive repair bill for it that time. Almost $500 for a latch catch. Other than that I do regular maintenance on it from the dealership I bought it from (oil & transmission filter change) and it has been very reliable on that part. Runs great and never left me along the side of the road. I bought it in 2018 and it has almost 65k miles on it now.

So unreliable
The amount of issues we've had with our promaster are not acceptable for a commercial vehicle. Engine started ticking after 60k miles, so we had to replace all rocker arms. We've had issues with multiple cooling fans, blower motors, A/C compressors, and we had to replace the transmission. If you need a reliable vehicle, this is not it.
I loved this van!!
I am a pool technician with a service area that's over 9,000 square miles. Put approx 35,000 miles a year on it. Yes, it ate headlights, until I invested in some good ones. Had a misfire condition at about 80,000 miles. Rear door handle crapped out at 116,000 miles, but could still open door from inside. Other than that, no problems whatsoever.
