Used 2015 Nissan Rogue SV 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
Good gas mileage??
I have to say, I really like the almond interior of my new 2015 rogue. And, overall, it looks nice. But it is big!! Nothing like the earlier, cute, zippy models i have seen around town. And talk about zippy, :-( This vehicle is so big, with such wide turns, it is hard to navigate. and the blind spots! My dealer couldn't get me the premium level Rogue with the 360 view in the color i wanted. You need the 360 view! I have narrowly missed other cars, even being a very safe driver, but not at all seeing cars right next to me. And the gas mileage. Well, I average 23 mpg city/hywy. I drive on the slow side, never rev the engine, or speed around town. Could someone please tell me, is my car defective? Or are the advertised MPG a huge exaggeration???

More bang for the buck and great resale value!
What you can get in a SV FOR UNDER $25k you will pay $30k in most other similar vehicles. For instance if you want keyless ignition in your vehicle Rogue is under $25k. Ford & Chevy start at $30k. Dollar for dollar it's hard to beat the Rogue.

Never again Will Buy a Nissan
This was the first Nissan I ever owned and was purchased brand new. I like brand new because I have the certainty it has not been abused or neglected by a previous owner and that I'll have it in for scheduled maintenance. When purchasing this car, a main concern is the seat because of how much time we spend driving and taking care of my back due to lower back problems. I had read about the NASA-designed driver seat. The seat lives up to it's name as it is very comfortable and I don't experience back issues even when I've taken the car on long trips. While I've always owned Honda and Toyota's, plus a Ford, the comparable Honda CRV seat was already hurting my back in the short time I sat in it. Test drove Mazda as well. For the upscale finishes, price, features, and the driver's seat, I was very happy with my Rogue purchase. While under the 36,000 mile warranty, I experienced auto window problems, struts, a pinging noise when I turned wheel all the way, and 4 times had it in for a/c not blowing at all, or blowing just hot air. Also, when at idling, I'd look over while the passenger seat was vibrating. While driving over a speed bump, in or out of driveways was embarrassing squeaking noises like I was in a car made in the 50's or 60's that badly needed grease or something. They did some type of replacement with the struts. All in all I had the car in 10 times before I hit the 36,000 mile mark so I figured if it didn't get fixed, I'd be covered under lemon law. Again, had more a/c problems periodically. Mysteriously, my cars a/c would come back working stating they couldn't find a problem, or even once telling me the cabin air filter wasn't installed and was on the passenger seat floor as if that was the issue. Guess because I'm a woman they think I'm gullible enough to believe that is why my a/c doesn't work? That was the one time it wasn't blowing at all and I simply took out the filter to see if anything was blocking the air flow. But no, having a missing filter does not cause it to blow hot air. Perhaps corporate Nissan doesn't support it's dealerships for warranty work? However, at 71,000 miles a/c doesn't work, I'm told it's out of freon. Well, where did it go... it doesn't just disappear. They swear they couldn't find a leak and had put dye in the system. I paid $180 to put in freon and guess what, it was empty a few weeks later blowing hot air. Then, they find a "hole" in condenser unit which must have been caused by a rock hitting it they stated. Cost would be $1,375. Despite previous issues throughout time I've had my car, they wouldn't correct it unless I had an extended warranty (which I did not). My car was in 7 times for air conditioning not working previously so it was at this point I got mad, and while I've never sued anyone in my life I was ready to go battle Nissan. Especially one of the days was 95 degrees, I was an hour and half from home with my disabled mother in the front seat (who had suffered a severe stroke previously), and I had to stop several times to get ice, water, and cool her down just to get her home into air conditioning. I always thought how under the circumstance of having a medically compromised loved one in my car was actually dangerous (even though you wouldn't think not having air conditioning could be dangerous). I went to an independent shop and he found three different holes, made the repairs and filled with freon for $800. Other minor problems is getting the "key not found" error. Luckily I never got stuck anywhere. It mostly happened at home so I would just grab the other fob. Note: This was not a battery issue. Weird things, like volume cranking up on radio full blast even though I wasn't touching volume control. I'm impressed with the Nissan paint job -- other cars showed more rock chips hitting my hood than the Nissan -- I guess I'm trying to point out the good. :) Corporate Nissan has honored the lemon law though and offered to buy it back and a pretty good price since my problems date all the way back to the 12,000 mile mark. The car has wasted a lot of my time over several years, dropping it off, picking it up, etc. since most issues that were eventually fixed required at least three visits to pinpoint the problem. This car would be a drain on me financially which I don't want to deal with. At this time it is pretty easy to sell a used car and get very good money for it, but I truly didn't want to pawn off this problem on some other person, so was ready to have an attorney handle it under lemon law if I needed to. As another note, my sister owns a 2015 Nissan Altima and had purchased an extended warranty (which I did not). She also had numerous problems with her a/c and has had the compressor replaced, then they said it was condenser unit, which was then replaced as well. It's too bad, because I was truly excited about my car when I purchased it. But I'm in my mid-50's and had this car to the dealership more than all other cars combined in the previous 30 years of car ownership. With what you spend on a car, I just don't need the headaches and won't be purchasing a Nissan ever again. Corporate Nissan handled my matter professionally and did not argue with the pages upon pages of service history, for that I give them a high rating for fairly offering to buy the car back at almost what I paid for it new. The Rogue did not ever leave me stranded, and I'll miss the vehicle for some sadistic reason. Too bad it wasn't built to higher standards.
