Used 2013 Nissan Rogue Consumer Reviews
Pros and Cons
Pros: 1. CV Tranny excellent, no constant shifting 2. Plenty of power when needed at any speed. 3. Drives comfortably, but shorter wheelbase of this class is a little bumpier. 4. I get 28 mpg, my wife gets 24 overall. Gets over 30 on the highway at 60 mph. 5. Door looking options are very nice. Cons: 1. The Navigation system is totally useless. I had to buy a GPS. Cannot be set while moving, no MPH check, No useful trip record, no elevation, etc. etc. Of no use whatsoever. 2. No option for power seats for passenger. 3. Cargo space is small for class. 4. Speedometer is analog only, no digital read.
2013 Rogue horrible
I bought my 2013 Nissan Rogue brand new. Thinking this vehicle would last me a while. I was wrong! After the 1st month of having it I brought it to the shop because it would shake and jitter and felt like it was about to just fall apart. Times I thought the car would lose all power. The dealership said it was normal everything was fine. Fast forward 2 years had to replace the ac compressor. Fast forward a year and half had to replace the engine and now 6 months later on a trip after riding with the cruise control on for about an hour I noticed it had slowed to 60 so I turn the cruise off and press the gas pedal and nothing. Nothing happen the rpms do not go up my speed doesn't go up nothing happens. I pulled over we got some food and checked oil and transmission fluid all looked good. Get back on the Interstate everything seemed fine about an hour or hour and a half in the middle of all kinds of fast moving traffic it does it again, slows wont go cars honking I'm was kinda just stuck in the way couldn't go. Made it home brought it to the dealership to be told I needed a new transmission.

2013 Rogue dead transmission
My vehicle was purchased with the thought that I would pay it off and have a car that would last me at least 10 years. I am absolutely destroyed and devastated that my 2013 Nissan with 109k miles broke down on the road absolutely no acceleration unable to go backward or forward, And I am lucky I was not on Interstate 295 or I95 cause I could’ve been killed. I had it towed to Aamco transmissions and they estimate approx $4500 to repair or rebuild it, and $460 just to take it apart to see what’s wrong with it so they know what to repair or rebuild. I was not aware of the CVT problem. I am ripped off and unhappy and will never buy another Nissan again but right now my problem is figuring out if I should take such a big loss & buy another vehicle or try to repair it. I now realize that the problems that I was having before might have been related to the transmission. In the past year, on a long over the road trip, My vehicle would be sputtering and losing speed, but I thought it was bad gas and I put seafoam in it, and then it seem to work OK. This happened twice. I now realize that it was the transmission starting to go and I wish I had known so I would’ve got rid of the damn car before it broke down completely. I found out that this type of transmission is in all of the Nissans, and a Nissan admitted that they were aware of it. For some reason my particular model was not covered under the warranty even though it was less than five years old. I believe Nissan rip me off and I would never buy another Nissan again. I just purchased a 2019 Honda HRV and I am very pleased with it. I have been driving my Honda HRV SUV now for 14,000 miles. I love the vehicle. Lotta pick up and go, extremely quiet, great ride great looking vehicle and it’s got everything that I want or need at an affordable price. The Nissan Rogue, only 4.5 years old, was very noisy and slow compared to the Honda. I would never own another Nissan product in my entire life.

Terrible vehicle
Transmission was replaced at 70,000 miles. Even after the transmission being replaced, the vehicle will not go when accelerator is all the way to the floor at times. Forget taking a trip unless you want it to take double the time getting there because the vehicle only goes about 60mph after about an hour into the trip. This vehicle has been nothing but problems.

Frustrated and Disappointed
I purchased a new 2013 Rogue in May 2013. Last week, the malfunction light came on in the car. After experiencing difficulty accelerating while driving in town, I took the car to the nearest Nissan dealer. Eventually, it was determined that I needed a new transmission. The car had less than 5,000 miles! It has been 8 days and the car is still being repaired. I will never purchase another Nissan again. Clearly, there was a defect in the manufacturing process.
