2004 Quest
From a family man who avoided buying a minivan like a disease, once I looked at and test drove the Quest I was sold. It looks pretty cool(in minivan standards) has tons of room, easy to deal with interior, and a really great ride that blows away all the other minivans by far. Love the acceleration (240hp) and the handeling. Kids like it too.
What a Lemmon!!
I bought this early this year. Started noticing the problems right away. Leaky sunroof, creaking sliding doors, cheap plastic inside and lots of rattle. Minivan is new so dealer does not know how to fix properly. Often it takes months to get parts. Already made multiple trips to dealer. Not sure when what will break.

Did I get lucky?
After reading so many bad reviews, I must have gotten lucky with my van. I traded in a 2003 Lexus RX300 as I needed the additional room. Travel a lot. Love the van in every way. Great gas mileage average 23.5 around town and took a 6,000 mile trip to Northeast areas and Nova Scotia and got 26.7 for trip. No problems at all so far. Have all the bells and whistles and love them too. Maybe the Lexus had a better GPS but this van is better on the road then the Lexus I had. Roomy, peppy for a van, handles great and what's not to like? Sorry others are not so fortunate. Would I buy another Nissan, Probably. But Honda is good too. I had a 2001 with little problems but not nearly as nice
I never thought I'd be a minivan owner
My husband and I became tired of filling the SUV tank so often and decided to look at minivans. We immediately liked the sky lights and the "first-class airline seat" feel of the interior. Our kids, ages 6 & 8 LOVE it! In fact, we decided to drive from Maryland to Florida for vacation. The trip was smooth and fun! We didn't hear ,"Are we there yet?" on the trip down or back. We are now planning to take more road trips because of the comfort of our 2004 Quest.
quest
I love this van, I researched a lot before investing and haven't looked back. There isn't a day that goes by that someone doesnt' comment on the "shape" of it.
Minivan sports car
Not only did I have an excellent experience at the dealership, but has been extremely impressed with the van. It drives like a sports car, but has the space of a minivan and the comfort of a luxury SUV. Could not be happier with my purchase.
Great Van
Worth the wait for my family. The skyview roof decided Quest over Sienna. Great for long drives.
Worst Quest by far
3 days on the road, the engine malfunction light went on. The computer had to be reprogrammed and an engine part replaced. Took 4 days to diagnose and repair! Now 2 weeks later, found out the right sliding door itself unbelievably scratching the side of the body making scratch marks both inside and out! Armrest, sliding door, rear window on left side are too loose while those on the right too tight. Gas consumption is almost 40% more than the spec, and definitely more than my mom's SUV. Felt totally betrayed by its looks.
Great style
I searched and test drove every major brand. I ended with the Quest for its style, passenger style driving, big engine and lots of room. No regrets!!!! Love the van. Get the DVD system, best option I ever paid. Kids were great on the long trips.
top of the charts
handeling great style great performance fabulas just like driving a sports car
Quest Review
I love this hybrid SUV/Minivan
Don't let the design throw you!
The Nissan Quest with its Renault influence is wide and airy, comfortable and roomy. We love the performance and engineering of this easy to use, easy to drive mini-van with enough power to fool you into thinking you are driving a sedan.
Very functional Nissan Quest
The flexibility of the Quest is wonderful. The automatic doors, the fold flat seats are terrific. The skylights create a fun traveling experience. Best of all we like the ZIP. Our other vehicle is a Jaguar 3.0 S type and it's my impression that the Quest would be it off the line every time. The styling is very different and you either like it or dislike it. However, it creates interest wherever we go.
quest 's poor gas mileage
The gas mileage on this vehicle is terrible compared to what it was advertized to be. I have had 5 recalls on this vehicle in the first 8 months of ownership and I think this is excessive for a new automobile.
The Final Quest
Overall, we are well pleased with the Quest. The problems incurred were annoying rather then operationally dibilitating. They were also addressed by the dealership and Nissan. This is the first in 14 vehicles owned over the years, that I feel I am 'superviseing' not driving.
#1
The Quest is the best car in the world.
a world of excellent for families
This mini van is the best in it's class. It was made to make all ages in your family happy and very comfortable. It drives like a car, instead of a mini van. The Quest performance is behond words.
Best
I am so impressed with this vehicle. I drove a number of other brands.
Quest
So far so good. We have only had the vehicle a week. So far it has been wonderful. No problems, to speak of and the feedback from interested parties is unbelievable. We highly recommend it and the dealer we purchased it from.
nissan quest
i had doubts, my husband did all the research. but now that i have my car i love it.. smooth ride and great features
They don't get any better than this!
After driving the Oddessy, new Sienna, and the Town & Country, we went with the Quest...our 12th Nissan now. This thing is like a limo. It's larger than any minivan on the market and it's cocoon quiet and smooth. The interior is elegant when compared to the competition. We enjoy this Quest better than anything we've driven....and it's a MINIVAN! Nissan now has the new benchmark minivan!
Do not buy the 2004 Quest
We bought this van in Jan 04 after the first couple of weeks the quality began its decline, parts began to loosen and fall off, horn died, handle stuck, handle broke and the sliding door drivers side rattles since the beginning and they cannot fix. We are very dissatisfied with this van and Nissan has not made any effort to help. We have now spent a lot of time and energy going back and forth to have it fixed and the problems only continue. I am stuck but I write this to save others what I am going through...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE AND DO NOT BUY THIS VAN!!!!!
Beats an SUV anyday
I was going for an SUV, however when I drove the new Nissan Quest... I was Hooked... And everybody always complements me on the car... GREAT MINIVAN
My Quest
This is the second Quest that I have owned. My other one was 99 and this one has it beat by a mile. It took no time at all to get use to the new features.
Cool Car
I like everything about the car, especially how itlooks, how it handles and the engine power. There is a rattle in the side door that Nissan has yet to solve which is the only draw back
Buy the Quest and Forget the Rest!
This the second Quest I bought. That tells you something. Not to waste alot of time but I checked the others out like many people did. Same story. The Quest was the best! I have purchased many new cars since I bought my first one in 1969 and this is by far the best vehicle I have owned. The dealership had alot to do with it also. I have purchased 8 cars from them since 1998. My 4 yr old loves it and one of the reasons I got it was that it has the curtain air bags all the way to the 3rd row. The Quest is a very safe vehicle. I would not let my son ride in one that was not. Buy it, buy another! I love the sunroof and he loves the back top glass. Best ride, service and warranty! Great stereo!
Thank Heavens I didn't get an Odyssey
We bought our Quest in August. It is October and we are already close to 5,000 miles. I insisted on buying an Odyssey until my husband told me to at least look at the Quest....well, I saw and then test drove both engines (SL and SE). No comparison!! Bought the SE. Only problem is if you want to add the DVD system after purchase it can't be done. Nissan is not even selling the system for alternate installation, so get it now!!
Nissan has Vast "Cargo" Capacity
Great ride. Most comfortable seating for more than 2 adults. middle seating group allows for long legged (and/or large passengers).
my new quest
I love the uniqueness of the desgin and endless list of features. I get stopped at least once a day by somebody asking about it.
THE HAZARDS OF THIS VAN!
RE: NEW VAN! AFTER PURCHING THE FIRST VAN, IT BROKE DOWN- DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT SO-GOT A DIFFERENT ONE- HAS BEEN BREAKING DOWN WITHOUT ANYONE BEING ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHY! THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SAFE WAY TO TRAVEL WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN!!! NOW I HATE TO SEE MY GRANDCHILDREN IN THIS VAN! AM TERRIBLY WORRIED! THIS IS SO UNSAFE! LOOKS GREAT, AND IS GREAT TO DRIVE- UNLESS IT IS ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTA-W/O POWER OR AT THE DEALERSHIP & THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT! AFTER HAVING 2 OF THESE VANS WITH MAJOR PROBLEMS - DANGEROUS PROBLEMS I AM SORRY THAT BOTH OF MY CHILDREN BOUGHT THEM! AND WISH THEY HAD STAYED WITH THE TRIED AND TRUE AMERICAN VERSIONS! WHAT NOW??
Quest gives style to a minivan
Our first minivan, and after months of debate and test driving Odyssey, Sienna, Pacifica, Pilot, XC90, T&C, Grand Caravan, Rendezvous, MDX, and V70, we realized that that you can call a crossover what you like but there ends up being a compromise in the real functionality of a minivan. Quest does not compromise style or performance for functionality. We can take turns similar to our 98 Maxima, strap the kids in the seats without over extending like some of the 3rd rows in the SUV, Bose sounds great, 17" wheels look sporty and the features for price seem to be one of the best.
Awesome!
The Quest looks radical and is totally different from the competition. The skyview roof is awesome and viewing the sky thru the roof panels, make the interior feel very open and spacious. It handles beautifully. I gave up my SUV for this, and I made the right choice!
JUST SIMPLE FUN
THIS VEHICLE IS THE MOST FUN VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN, AND I HAVE DRIVEN A LOT OF VEHICLES. THE 3.5 ENGINE IS QUICK AND RESPONSIVE - ANSWERING TO ANY DEMAND YOU PUT ON IT.
this car sucks
Had major problems with both side sliding doors. Too much noise (took the car to the dealer 5 times) and the noise is still there... it just get worst... Door closes itself, while peope are trying to enter to the vehicle. Door stays half open while you are closing and than you have to open manually. Both, front passanger and driver seats are the most unconfortable seats in the world... try to put your head to the headrest...
My Odyssey Has Become A Quest
As a former 2001 Odyssey owner, I had high standards when I shopped for a new minivan in September. Of course, another Odyssey was considered -- until I stepped into a 2004 Nissan Quest and discovered what I've been missing! I thoroughly admire the central control panel and display -- this IS the 21st century, isn't it? Shouldn't digital displays, tactile/touch-controls, self- monitoring tire gauges all be standard by now? This vehicle draws the curious whereever I go and its sure to turn heads for years to come. My Odyssey has ended. But my Quest has just begun.
not what i expected
The design was good..engineering not so good. Transimission problems still persists even after replacement. Nissan does not offer a solution that would make us whole again after buying this vehicle. We are still going thru the replacing this vehicle process under the lemon law. I has taken an attorney and lots of phone calls to get something out of Nissan. They know and have admitted to having a problem with this vehicle but do not want the vehicle back. They are reluctant to work with us. FYI..tell them the news media will be involved..that seemed to help them speed replacement up..
Best Damn Car Ever!
I traded my Range Rover in for this minivan because my family got larger. I have never had so much fun driving a car like this before. It has so many inovative features, along with styling and comfort, that it far surpasses any luxury car out there on the market. From coolest things like the sky roof and the dual dvd screens, to the drain system in the doors that lead out of the vehical if you spill your drink, this car has just about everything to make it the perfect car on the market today. Definitly take a look at this minivan if your in the market for a minivan or an SUV.
Great Quest
Had a 1995Quest but leg room was an issue as our 3 children are older. Looked seriously at Sienna because of split third row bench, wind and engine noise in 1995Quest. Style won over, roomy interior, comfortable seating for 7, powerful engine, much quieter ride. Center pod takes time getting used to but much safer for driver. There's a place for just about everything within the driver's safe reach. Kids actually choose to ride on the row bench seat! Had sliding door gasket reglued at 100 miles but no problems since. 3,500 miles and still loving it.
Our First Mini-Van
My wife has pestered me for years to buy a mini-van. I have resisted because I disliked to boxy look they all seemed to have. When I first set eyes on the 2004 Quest, I knew that the time had come to join the legions of mini-van owners. We are retired and travel frequently to new destinations. This is a sweet ride! The new Quest is head and shoulders above the competition in styling, safety, and amenities.
Best Minivan
The options, Engine Power, styling, price and Factory Interest rate on the Nissan Van were the best of any Minivan we looked at.
Hate this van!
This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. The sunroof broke, the radio has now broken 5 times, the driver-side window gets stuck, the gas tank door broke, the vents in the ceiling in the back literally fell out and the car is a piece of junk. The drivers seat is so uncomfortable my husband can't even drive the car and he is only 5'11" and 185 pounds. The electric sliding door works 50% of the time as does the electric back door. I would not recommend this car to my worst enemy. Something breaks daily. Then I was told that in order to take advantage of the warranty that I would have to take it to the dealer I purchased it at even though there is a closer dealer down the street. UGH!
Nissan Quest
The best van ever made.i like it better than the sienna and the award winning town and country.
Fun & Sporty
So far the Quest is a very nice comfortable ride for our family.
Quest for the best
This vehicle is very fun to drive and an eye catching machine. Finally the minivan doesn't feel like a minivan. It truly feel luxury, futuristic, fun to drive and tons of gadgets.
My Quest Nightmare!
Very dissappointed! I think it's been in the shop as much as it's been driven! Entire harness had to be replaced, took 3 months for them to even get one! and that was after I filed a complaint with the BBB. Wouldn't go in park 2 days after I bought it, gear shift came off in service managers hand! Shoved and bruised by sliding door! I'm thinking, I should not be hating a van I paid so much money for! Always trusted Nissan until now, they need to replace this van, so I can get the true feeling of it and my money's worth!
The Un-minivan Minivan
I've driven minivans before, but none like the Nissan Quest. It's unbelievably large inside, with outrageous innovations and safety features. The performance is nearly sportscar like (salesman told me it was a version of the 350Z engine...believe it!!). Most importantly, my wife doesn't mind driving it at all...actually thinks it looks cool!!! The glass roof panels are awesome, and the interior is laid out like a luxury jetliner!! Thanks Nissan!! You've got some great products lately!
My wife and I were so impressed with the styling, interior space, power and fuel economy, we didn't even look at the SUV we intended to buy. We chose the "S" trim level with rear sonar and 16" alloy wheels, which amazingly provides an abundance of standard features. The ride, handling and powerful engine make you feel like you're behind the wheel of a four door sports car. The cloth seats are vey soft and comfortable, especially the 2nd and 3rd row. The front and 2nd row captain chairs provides a "center aisle" which allows easy access to all seating areas.
Our Quest has begun!
Over 2000 miles on our new Quest SL, it's a great-handling living room! Handles and accelerates like a car (think Maxima), great visibility and huge side-view mirrors, really quiet and smooth ride. Excellent braking. 0 difficulty adjusting to center mounted speedometer, (now my wife can adjust the steering wheel without blocking out the gauges!) Incredibly easy access from any row to any row, DVD works great, input jacks usable for a videogame, videocamera, even an ipod! kids love seats, really comfortable and attractive van.
Surprised by how much I loved my Quest
I had 132,000 miles on my Pathfinder and figured I'd get a 2nd vehicle in order to keep my Pathfinder longer. I looked at a few other vehicles, including the Pacifica and because of the Nissan quality, the dealership (specifically the service dept.) and the fact that I liked the style, I went with the Quest. Wasn't sure if I'd like a mini van, but after 1 1/2 weeks and 500 mile - I have to admit I love it. Everyone who has been in it loves it - even my daughters teenage friends think its coo.
Neat Van
This is a neat looking van. Lots of the "new extras" that families need. Only major complaint is that the fan for heating and AC is LOUD. Drives smooth, acceleration and power are sufficient. Center console takes some getting used to but I prefer it now over a traditional console.
