Awesome Minivan :)
I love just about everything about this van. At first, I had planned to get a Toyota Sienna - until Fowler Toyota in Norman told me it wasn't in their interest to do business with me (I had negotiated to get $2000 of MSRP). When I found out they ordered the wrong color, I changed to the Nissan - and was wonderfully happy I did! Hudiburg Nissan treated me well :) The kids love the dual DVD screens, and everything about the van is a gadet- girl's dream :)
Died at 6950
The transmission started slipping at 6950, every door rattles and the dash, the transmissions shift points are the worst I have ever driven (been driving over 40 years), there is a whistling sound around the outside mirrors, etc. Basically Nissan did a extremely poor job on designing and building this vehicle!!! I planning on getting rid of this vehicle ASAP!

NISSAN QUEST
Enjoy all the extra features especially the digital console and the powerful engine.
Poor Milage
Happy with every thing about the vehicle except the milage that I am getting. Does't come close to the ratings.
2004 Nissan Quest Rocks!
This van is the best van available. One drive and you will agree. Nissan as usual outperforms, and outclasses all others.
My Golden Quest
I have driven Lincoln's and Caddy's. This Van drive and handles better. For a Large vehicle, when inside it seems like you are in a small RV. Easy handling and turing. MANY compliments on this Van. I like not seeing the hood from the driver's side making it easier to park. The total inside has the ability to walk from the front to the third row. Even has hooks thru-out for those alful plastic grocery bags.
less than expected
This is our third Quest and we expected this 'new' Quest to be as good as the others and we have been very disappointed. Right off the lot the van has needed repairs for vibrations, rattling doors, seats....too many to go on. Perhaps that is why Nissan increased the bumper to bumper warranty. We love the space and it is great on the road but it just has not lived up to being a Nissan.
A Minivan for All who Hate to drive one
When my wife and I found out that we were about to have our 3rd child,we thought that it was important for us to buy a bigger car.We have a seven- year old, who still uses a booster seat, a two-year old who uses a car seat, a new baby on the way,and grandma who comes home sometimes to watch the kids.We both hated Minivans,so we decided to buy a 2003 Explorer with 3rd row. After the baby was born,it did not take us very long to realize that the Explorer was not going to cut it. When Nissan came out with the 2004 Quest , we both suddenly said, "Wow may be aminivan does not have to look boring, after all." We went to the Dealer for a spin,we were in awe.
Minivan sports car
Not only did I have an excellent experience at the dealership, but has been extremely impressed with the van. It drives like a sports car, but has the space of a minivan and the comfort of a luxury SUV. Could not be happier with my purchase.
review
I love my Quest! It has so many great features, and it is so well laid-out, with lots of storage spaces. It is fun to drive. I love the 5 sunroofs, and my kids love the dual DVD screens. The biggest disadvantage is that the rear seat isn't split, so if you fold it down you lose 3 seats, on the other hand it does fold completely flat so you get lots of cargo room. The latch to release the seat to fold flat is extremely stiff, I have a very hard time using it. Overall, though, I love the vehicle and am extremely happy we purchased it!
Great Van! A++
I got mine as an 04 left over in March of 2005 with 70 miles on it. It has ben a great van so far. Nissan extended the warranty for 04s from 3 to 5 years because of some minor bugs ie doors(which is bound to happen with any new model year)if this tells you about how they stand behind their vehicles. Looked at Honda and Toyota and got a MUCH better deal even if it hadnt been a left over. If your looking for a van definatley take a look at the Quest. The 06 seems to have even more features. If I still find I need a van in a couple years when it's time to trade mine in I will go with the Quest again!
Quest, Too Many Issues
We are a month into our new 2004 Nissan Quest, and we are not pleased with the number of issues that have surfaced with this vehicle since the initial drive home from the dealership. 1) The Passenger Manual Door Rattles, 2) The Rear Pop-Out Windows Rattle when they are open, 3) The 3rd Row Bench Seat Rattles continuously when erected (not when it is folded down into the floor), 4) The vehicle takes too long to start after it has not been running for an hour or more, 5) The Front-End and Steering wheel vibrates at expressway speeds during both driving and braking, 6)The A/C Compressor makes a load bang noise when it intially engages.
Too many problems - it's a lemon!
Currently going through the process of getting van bought back by Nissan through LEMON LAW. Been in for service 9 times (27 total days in shop)! SLIDING DOORS rattle, squeek, shake, grind and do not open, close, align, or latch properly. Sliding doors are extremely UNSAFE. Van has had 6 RECALLS performed, along with the entire driver's side REPAINTED due to rock chips since doors were misaligned. Nissan extended OEM warranty to 5yrs/60k miles, but that doesn't account for the POOR BUILD QUALITY. Vehicle pulled to the left, transmission pan leaked, CV boot ripped, sun visor label fell off, left rear quarterpanel loose - PROBLEMS are too many to list. Buy a HONDA or TOYOTA!!!
Transmission Problem
This vehicle replaces a 1995 Quest Van. This is a nice vehicle which drives smoothly and has good acceleration. I presently have a problem with intermittent failure of the transmission to shift after starting. The vehicle has twice started in 3rd gear and refused to upshift or downshift. I took it to the dealership who called Nissan for help in solving this problem. According to the service manager Nissan says this is a known problem which they do not have a solution for yet. I reserve judgement on this van until I see if Nissan can fix this problem. On the bright side, turning the vehicle off and restarting restores the transmission to normal function.
Nissan Quest aka A Lemon
Bought this as soon as it was introduced. have about 33k miles so far. Been in dealership for warranty related service, regular service, recalls for 20 times- ~ 35 days. Had replaced wheel bearings and transmission control module already. Replaced door weather stripping, CD/Radio already. Doors and seats rattle all the time. Nissan is not able to fix it so far after 6 attempts. Never seen such a poor quality car. Buy a Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Kia, Ford or GM minivans but never this. In fact I will never buy another Nissan again. Also, customer service dept at Nissan USA is really bad. Soon Nissan will lose all its goodwill and will end up bankrupt negating their amazing financial turnaround.
Loved it!
The unique exterior keeps geeting approving glances. Great handling, The DVD and navigation system are a blast. Had to have the navigation system, which was replaced within 2 days, great service
Best Minivan with style ...
This minivan drives great and gives a feel of an SUV with lots of room, room and fun to drive ...
Poor Quality
First six months has required two major repairs: Oil leaking from engine gasket, and bad alternator. I have 5,000 miles on this car and it has a bad alternator...The Dealer will offer a loaner that is usually a 4 door Sentra...really not a comparable car, note even close! If this POS car is going to be a lemon at least I can get a decent loaner!
My 2004 Nissan Quest Review
Its fun to drive, and a pleasure to travel long distances in. I have three teenage boys and I need room inside a vehicle and the Quest fulfills my needs.
Good but could be better
Van rides great, nice peppy engine, lots of storage space, handles great for a mini van. Plastic storage area that is attached to back of drivers seat has been replaced twice (woman at service desk said its cheap-not exactly what I want to hear after spending 28,000+$). Something wrong with the front brakes, at highway speeds steering wheel shakes (have to take that in), DVD and auto doors are great. Screen needs to be brighter. Love the center counsle, great visability for a van. Wiper controls are hard to work, have to take your eye off the road to use them (for intermit/and rear)
Not just a new standard, a new approach!
My wife and I bought an '01 Olds Silouhette becasue of the free extra warranty coverage and the extra level of appointments at a mid-range price. After spending some time looking around for a replacement (we were going to wait for aug '04), we looked at the Odyessy (boring), Windstar (soon the be freestar) - sorry it's a Ford product and we don't do Fords anymore, and we even looked at the VW van thingy eh yeah if that's what it is... Enter the Nissan. Now I am not one to get excited over a Minivan (we but it because of necessity of having 3 children) but wow! This thing has a new approach to family moving.
Bad Desigh
Only had the van a few month it has been in the shop for about two weeks with transmission problems, poor air conditioning, and sever ratttles. Nissan will not change the poor shifting of the transmission and the air conditioning of the van becasue they say it meets the factory criteria and all other Quests are the same. Extremely disappointed in Nissan, they used to produce quality cars!
A lemon for sure
I handled all the small problems like rattling doors, doors that had their own mind and spontaneously opened, moonroof that leaked, doors that squished my children but at 100000 miles my entire computer system/ electric system was corroded and left the van inoperable. Nissan Corp has not helped AT ALL. The part was ordered by a dealer and it is now on 2 months of being 'unavailable' with no excuse or reason why. We have made every effort to speak with Nissan to get answers to no avail- nothing past the 'call center' who claims they resolved our problem-' part will be in in 3 more weeks' Only that was said 1x already. I just cannot wait to get the car fixed + gone!
Great Van
Worth the wait for my family. The skyview roof decided Quest over Sienna. Great for long drives.
Worst Quest by far
3 days on the road, the engine malfunction light went on. The computer had to be reprogrammed and an engine part replaced. Took 4 days to diagnose and repair! Now 2 weeks later, found out the right sliding door itself unbelievably scratching the side of the body making scratch marks both inside and out! Armrest, sliding door, rear window on left side are too loose while those on the right too tight. Gas consumption is almost 40% more than the spec, and definitely more than my mom's SUV. Felt totally betrayed by its looks.
Great style
I searched and test drove every major brand. I ended with the Quest for its style, passenger style driving, big engine and lots of room. No regrets!!!! Love the van. Get the DVD system, best option I ever paid. Kids were great on the long trips.
I Love my 2004 Quest
I love almost everything about this vehicle. It is so different from other mini-vans. It is stylish, sleek, elegant, and modern, not your typical ugh van. It is beautiful and fun. The interior is roomy and well....only one word to describe it..COOL! It is fun to drive, handles extremely well, and has many great safety features. The only thing I would change about this van is give it more cargo room by splitting the back seat. I might also add a split bench seat in the center row. I know it has wonderful safety features, but I would be more comfortable with my grandson in the center of the center seats rather than against the door or in the very back.
Love our nissan
Truly best Vehicle my husband and i have ever owned....great room, comfort, and style
Disappointed consumer- Do your research!
I bought this car a week ago and noticed the rattling noise too. The service light soon came on and a compartment hatch was broken. Therefore, I had to take it to the shop. This has been a bad experience and my comfort level is not very high right now.
So Far.... So Great!
We just purchased an SE last week and I'm thrilled with the styling and amenities. I traded in our 1993 Quest with 195,000 miles and hope this one will last as well. Can't yet tell about reliability etc. but the aesthetics of the car are spectacular! The wife and kids love the skylights, DVD and 10 speaker stereo. Can't wait to take it on a trip. We chose this over Sienna because our '93 Quest was so great and the Siennas were so hard to find and lacked pizazz.
My first non gm
sky light leake fixedd, was replaced, right rear door had rattles, fixed somewhat
Nissan Quest
If you want a van for comfort, style, lots of space and plenty of storage, then this is the mini van for you! We test drove other vans and we went with this one because of the way it handles and the options that came with it! Before you buy anything ~ go test one of these before you finalize your decision!
Minivan with some pep!
My wife and I said we would never own a minivan. However, Quest has won us over. We like the fact that it has the Maxima engine in it and is fun to drive. The van has some pep. It also has been a lifesaver with our kids. We can pop in a DVD and they actually stay quiet in the back. Gret for road trips!
2004 Quest
After test driving a Sienna and Odyssey, and looking at a poor Windstar, this is the minivan to buy, if this can be called a minivan. I have no idea yet on reliability, but the ergonomics are excellent, it is huge for six people and a lot of gear, it drives and rides excellently, and continues the trend of redefining the minivan. Really it is a long car with sliding doors. What a nice car. But there is nothing mini about it. Nay
Stereo and DVD System
Bought my 2004 Quest in Sept 03. Put on a DVD system by the dealership. Eversince the first date, the stereo system has not been working right. Lot of statics on the radio both AM and FM . First the dealership blamed it on the DVD system because it is an after market system. No one had told me it will not work with the factory stereo system . Went back and forth 4, 5times the prblem is still there ...now the dealership said they don't know what to do and referred to Nissan . Nissan now said they have had similar problem with other Quests and it is trying to figure out how to fix it ... My second letter to Nissan about 1 month ago went unanswerred
First Minivan since 1964
Found the vehicle to be very versitile in that the second row seats lay down flat to the floor. Seems to get reasonable gas mileage though not as good or responsive as my old Lincoln Continental. Radio volume can be set to increase automatically as speed increases. Best gas mileage to date is amount 22mpg.
A Great Family Van
Overall my wife and I really like the vehicle. Family travel is much improved since we opted for the DVD entertainment system. The navigation system is nice but not used enough to justify the 2K price tag. We love the interior space. It is easy to move around in. Engine performance has been great, but gas mileage is no where near the sticker values. The best we've one on long hauls is 22 mpg. (expect 17-18 mpg avg.) We have had some intermitant trouble with the electronics in the transmission. Nissan claims that no problem exists, but at times the van will not accelerate past 30mph. This is usually remedied by turning the vehichle off and restarting.
better minivan not best one
ABCd
I love my quest
I love my 2004 Quest. I have 3 small children and it is so easy to get them in and out. My family and I also just took our first summer vacation with our new van, and the Quest did amazingly well on the 5,000 mile drive.
Finally XM & Nav
I just traded a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica because of the constant shifting due to lack of performace. I went for the Nissan Quest because I required Navigation System as well as XM radio. It surprised me that Toyota Sienna did not have XM radio available. Even Lexus only has one model (LS430) that has XM. If you like music it is a must have item. Worth every penny. This new Nissan has it all, including good fuel economy!
Best Minivan I've owned!
I've owned a Sienna, which I loved, but the new ones didn't get good crash ratings, and I've heard they don't deal because it's a sought-after vehicle. Didn't care for the Honda, and I drove the Nissan and I was sold. This is the best-driving minivan, it feels like a car and handles easily in any parking lot. I haven't noticed any rattling yet as others have reported.
Great Quest
Had a 1995Quest but leg room was an issue as our 3 children are older. Looked seriously at Sienna because of split third row bench, wind and engine noise in 1995Quest. Style won over, roomy interior, comfortable seating for 7, powerful engine, much quieter ride. Center pod takes time getting used to but much safer for driver. There's a place for just about everything within the driver's safe reach. Kids actually choose to ride on the row bench seat! Had sliding door gasket reglued at 100 miles but no problems since. 3,500 miles and still loving it.
Our First Mini-Van
My wife has pestered me for years to buy a mini-van. I have resisted because I disliked to boxy look they all seemed to have. When I first set eyes on the 2004 Quest, I knew that the time had come to join the legions of mini-van owners. We are retired and travel frequently to new destinations. This is a sweet ride! The new Quest is head and shoulders above the competition in styling, safety, and amenities.
Best Minivan
The options, Engine Power, styling, price and Factory Interest rate on the Nissan Van were the best of any Minivan we looked at.
Fun & Sporty
So far the Quest is a very nice comfortable ride for our family.
Quest for the best
This vehicle is very fun to drive and an eye catching machine. Finally the minivan doesn't feel like a minivan. It truly feel luxury, futuristic, fun to drive and tons of gadgets.
My Quest Nightmare!
Very dissappointed! I think it's been in the shop as much as it's been driven! Entire harness had to be replaced, took 3 months for them to even get one! and that was after I filed a complaint with the BBB. Wouldn't go in park 2 days after I bought it, gear shift came off in service managers hand! Shoved and bruised by sliding door! I'm thinking, I should not be hating a van I paid so much money for! Always trusted Nissan until now, they need to replace this van, so I can get the true feeling of it and my money's worth!
The Un-minivan Minivan
I've driven minivans before, but none like the Nissan Quest. It's unbelievably large inside, with outrageous innovations and safety features. The performance is nearly sportscar like (salesman told me it was a version of the 350Z engine...believe it!!). Most importantly, my wife doesn't mind driving it at all...actually thinks it looks cool!!! The glass roof panels are awesome, and the interior is laid out like a luxury jetliner!! Thanks Nissan!! You've got some great products lately!
My wife and I were so impressed with the styling, interior space, power and fuel economy, we didn't even look at the SUV we intended to buy. We chose the "S" trim level with rear sonar and 16" alloy wheels, which amazingly provides an abundance of standard features. The ride, handling and powerful engine make you feel like you're behind the wheel of a four door sports car. The cloth seats are vey soft and comfortable, especially the 2nd and 3rd row. The front and 2nd row captain chairs provides a "center aisle" which allows easy access to all seating areas.
Our Quest has begun!
Over 2000 miles on our new Quest SL, it's a great-handling living room! Handles and accelerates like a car (think Maxima), great visibility and huge side-view mirrors, really quiet and smooth ride. Excellent braking. 0 difficulty adjusting to center mounted speedometer, (now my wife can adjust the steering wheel without blocking out the gauges!) Incredibly easy access from any row to any row, DVD works great, input jacks usable for a videogame, videocamera, even an ipod! kids love seats, really comfortable and attractive van.
