This is my second Murano. I bought the 2016 Murano new in the SL trim 8 years ago and drove it to 156,000 miles with absolutely no issues at all. I did the regularly scheduled maintenance on time including the CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission), Oil Changes, Brakes, Antifreeze, Fluid Exchanges, etc. and the car performed flawlessly. I hear the experts talk about Nissan's CVT's being problematic, but I never had any issues with mine. As long as you don't abuse the CVT by flooring the gas off of a dead start, or put the car into Drive when the car is rolling backward, or neglect doing your scheduled CVT maintenance, your transmission should perform as expected. I enjoyed the 2016 Murano so much that I bought the same car again in the 2024 version with the same SL trim. The 2024 version is much improved than the 2016 model I owned. LED Headlights, Daytime Running Lights and Fog lights are standard on the 2024 now. I believe the taillights and break lights are also LED's but verify this with your own research if it is important to you. This new version also has parking sensors which were not on the 2016 SL version. Also, the 2024 comes with 20" wheels compared to the 18" wheels on the 2016. They still ride smooth and quiet but my 2024 came with Bridgestone Dueler Tires and I will be swapping them for Michelin's when they wear out. I had Michelin Defenders on the 2016 model and it rode like a Cadilac, very smooth and quiet. Another nice thing about the Murano is it comes with a Spare Tire. A lot of cars today don't come with a Spare Tire and people never think of checking before buying a car. The other unique feature the Murano has is a "CD Player" which is rarely seen in new cars these days. The Gas Mileage on the 2024 model is also better than the 2016 model. I averaged 26.7 mpg (combined) on the 2016 but have been averaging 27.9 mpg (combined) with the 2024. I drive 70% highway and 30% city/suburbs. I refrain from doing "Jack Rabbit" starts from traffic lights or stop signs and drive it conservatively. As a result, I get pretty good mpg's. Before buying the 2024 Murano, I test drove the RAV4 Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, and the new Toyota Crown Signia. All of these cars had the 2.5 Liter four cylinder with electric motors to give you anywhere from 219 horsepower to 243 horsepower depending on which model I drove. All drove just fine but the 260 horsepower offered by the Murano is smoother and never struggles when you need that power to get on freeways or to pass another vehicle. The Hybrids do get better mpg's but they are more expensive (with the exception of the RAV4) than the Murano. For me, the Murano is the perfect Mid-size two row SUV with just the right amount of Luxury, Technology, Power, Storage and features I need. Read the ratings from Nissan Murano owners. They will give you a much better review than the so called experts. There's a reason why previous Murano owners have purchased this Car again and again. Good luck in your search! Update after 10,000 miles: 2024 Murano is still performing flawlessly after 6 months of ownership and 10,000 miles. If you want the version of this car that has the V6, buy the 2024 model before they are gone. I believe the 2025 model has changed and no longer has the V6 available.

Love my Murano. Good power, solid ride, great cargo space (my dog loves the space he has with one seat down), like the exterior design, drives great in snow, got many more extras than my 2015. It's overdue for an upgrade, but I still love the look. Don't understand why your reviews aren't that great. Solid car, great drive, good looks and lots of extras.

AIRBAG ISSUES!!

2024 Nissan Murano Platinum 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl CVT)

I had my new Murano Platinum for barely a month. 4/23/24 purchase date. On 5/29/24, a car stopped quick infront of me and my Murano wouldn't stop. No alert of vehicle ahead of me, tried to slam on my breaks for the first time and they didn't work. Was only going 20mph!! Crashed into old truck ahead of me that was stopped and it totaled my WHOLE front end and NONE of my airbags went off!!!! Firefighters, the police officer and the tow man saw my airbag sensor wasn't even connected!!! I have Geico, they just confirmed today- 6/5/24, everything I have just said. They said if I was on the highway going 65mph or higher with no airbags connected, I would be dead right now. And thankfully my two young children were not in the Murano with me. We'd all be dead.

I have owned multiple vehicles from lower economical to higher end including: Chevy cavalier, Pontiac grand am, ford ranger, GM envoy, ford explorer, Chrysler minivan, Lexus rx350, ford edge, Kia sorento, I think that’s all. This murano SV 2024 is very well equipped standard options is by far my favorite. It is the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned. Rides the smoothest. I will say the other cars I have had that are closest to this is the Lexus RX 350 and the Envoy. This murano with all the discounts and the price point is hands down the best vehicle I have ever had!
