Bought Murano SL AWD after testing MDX, XC-90, SRX and Jeep GC. Performance, good mpg, power at elevation (5,000ft+) made for winning combination. MPG = 18.5-20.0(stopngo 30-50mph) and 21.5-24.5(65-75mph) manually calculated. Very comfortable seats for up to five adults. Excellent radio and XM rocks! Ease of entry/exit well designed. Good driving position. No BMW(drove 3-series for 8 yrs) but handles/corners twisties extremely well. AWD is solid in light-deep snow and on ice. Insurance rates quite low. NO problems. Bought platinum/cabernet and get lots of compliments. Little wind noise at highway speeds (65- 75mph+). Very good mountain vehicle on-road and very light off-roading. YES!

We traded my 2003 350Z for the Murano when my husband had a serious heart attack in July of 2004. I wasn't sure I would be happy with this car because I have always driven sports cars. However, this has proven to be a wonderful car in town and on the road. We took our first trip from Atlanta to Cedar Key,FL. in March and it was a delight. I love all the space in the car which made packing so simple compared to a trunk.. I didn't want a big SUV that seems some women drivers have a problem driving but this size is perfect. I guess you can tell I REALLY like this Murano.

Murano - Fun Car to Drive

Enjoy vehicle - bought vehicle for new look and Nissan reliability. Have previously been a Toyota owner and fan. Variable transmission has not detracted from the vehicle- it has a fast passing speed. Love the new look - definitely not a box like most other suvs. Overall a very roomy, soid, fun car to drive. Have had to have the car serviced once - required reprogramming of software so transmission functioned properly. Other than that, no problems. Would like a better paint surface - tends to scratch very easily. Overall, very happy with vehicle.

I just picked up my new 2005 Murano 3 days ago. After owning 2 Lexus RX 300's, I was hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. I had nothing to worry about! This one is a gem. Not only do I find the car pleasing to the eye, it has a luxurious feel inside and out. As compared to my Lexus, it has even more "toys" and so far I am getting slightly better gas mileage (19mpg...all city driving so far). I'd highly encourage anyone shopping for this size SUV to test drive a Murano. Fot the price, I don't think you can beat it.

We started looking at SUVs 2 yrs ago knowing we'd buy this yr. After looking at lots of factors and models, we knew the Murano was for us. It replaced a '99 Altima SE which was a great car but couldn't hold much cargo. The Murano really is like a tall more comfortable Altima. It's also as fast as many larger V6 or V8 SUVs but still averages about 21 mpg.

Press 'cons' include power-robbing CVT-- ---which is inconsistent with 0-60/8.0 sec, and 25mpg figures. The seamless CVT provides precise speed control. The SE is harsher riding than desirable---wish I had opted for the SL model, but an exceptionally satisfying driver's car. (My other vehicle is an '04 E500 Benz.)

I don't understand the comment about the CVT being energy sapping but it is something to get used to. Now that I have-I love it. It also seems to help the fuel economy. This vehicle is very smooth, luxurious ( I have the Touring package with heated leather ) safe and reliable. It has proven great in the snow ( I have the AWD model ) This SL Model is great and feels like a car. I did try the SE model and that is more like a regular SUV a little prancv. Anyway-alove it and still get a lot of compliments since July ( 8 months ago ) I would buy another one.

This is my first foreign vehicle and, so far, the best vehicle that I've ever owned! The CVT is extremely pleasant to drive and the versatility of the interior space is outstanding. The styling of this vehicle reminds me of the cars that guys who could draw used to draw in their notebooks back in high school when wishing to design what cars of the future looked like.

Although my Murano is a 2004, there doesn't seem to be too many technical, mechanical or cosmetic changes between the 2004-2005. I have never been so excited and thrilled with a vehicle before. I love the style, comfort and beauty of this car, not to mention the sporty features of a SUV. It rides like a luxury car and performs like a skatt rocket truck. What more could a 62 yr old Florida grandmother ask for?

I recently purchased a Nissan Murano after doing an extensive search on mid- size SUVs. While looking, I hadn't even considered this vehicle as an option, but after sitting in it at an auto show, my curiosity was piqued. It has all the features I was looking for in an SUV (pick-up, size, speed, features), plus some added bonuses like lots of cargo space and tons of safety features. From reviews, it sounds like the reliability is good and the gas and emissions ratings (important in California) are pretty decent. I'ts got awesome pick-up and drives and handles like a car. I was interested in "pilot- ing" it until this came along. I was sold.

My husband and I researched multiple different SUV's as well as test drove all competiters in the same size and price range as the Murrano. I as well as my husband felt as far as comfort, ease of handling, safety, price, and just overall options offerd on this model, as well as fuel economy non of the competiters could compare to the Murrano. I felt very safe in it during the winter driving, it was able to go places most others couldn't. I have to say I would diffenitly recomend this vechile to anyone and I would buy it again if I had to do it all over.

I started searching for a small SUV to replace my wife's old 03 Outback. I had narrowed my choices down between the rav4 & crv. After finding that the rav4 equipped the way we wanted wasn't a good deal, I was sure the crv would be the car. We happened to checkout the new rogue, but we weren't impressed with it. My wife however, liked the Murano. After realizing it was MUCH bigger than it looks, we took one for a spin, and liked the overall feel. We went to look at the crv, and did not like it, so we went back and got a murano. MPG is good IMO for a V6 SUV. We've had the car for over 2 weeks now, and consistently avg about 20-21 mpg with mostly "city" (stop lights) driving. Great car!

Stylish, comfortable, well laid out, really good SUV fuel encomy. We evaluated many other SUVs but felt cross-overs were a better choice for our life style. Of the cross-overs, the Murano was a clear standout for us, even compared to more expensive models like the Lexus RX330 and the VW Toureg V6.

Fun to drive, mostly a well thought out vehicle. Would be nice to have auto driving lights and wipers that you can easily clean around. Love the remote entry, inteligent key feature. The CVT transmission is nice, seems to be plenty of power and very smooth. Being a truck / SUV guy, this is as close to a "car" as I want to get. Has been a good purchase.

just picked up (April 2, 2005) my new fully loaded 2005 SL AWD black on black. Very nice, very roomy, lots of options, good ride (the SL model), solid, doesnt seem to eat alot of gas. The back up camera is very well thought out of and is very usefull. The navi seems to be a pretty good one also. Traded in a 2003 lincoln ls v8 and this car has even more options then the lincoln while the msrp is $10,000 cheaper. And the intelligent key is pretty cool as well. hope it stays the same for the rest of the 42 month lease. definetely consider this car.

I was in the market for an SUV style because I needed a more room...I discovered the Murano inadvertantly. The more I looked at it the more appealing it was to me...I'd describe it as very comfortable to drive and it is easy to access...no stooping or climbing to get in...I am very happy with the colors I chose for the interior/exterior. The mileage is not too bad either...I have an 80 mi/day commute and I figured I'd have to sacrifice a little bit in order to get what I wanted, but it really hasn't been too much of a sacrafice afterall. It is a sturdy and very reliable car and I would definately recommend it to anyone in need of room/comfort without the typical SUV/Truck automobile feel.

Test drove tons of SUVs and nothing compares to the Murano. The outside looks compact, but the inside is so smartly configured, my 6'5", 300 lb husband has no problem getting comfortable! Manuevers better than my previous sedan, however it does lack the 'zip' my sedan had. But once you get going, power is not a problem. Interior is beautiful and the standard model includes some great features which makes the Murano a great value.

Smooth CVT (transmission). High intensity headlights, leather/sunroof. A real joy to drive. Excellent visability - removed rear headrests. Intelligent key (no key to unlock or start engine! Murano SL with AWD handles great in all weather. I do not agree with the CVT dig on performance. This is a 245 HP engine which has plenty of pickup and go. It is not a sports car, but does feel very sporty. The CVT will prolong the transmission and save fuel cost.

The Murano had 46 odometer miles when purchased. After driving the Murano for approximately 700 miles, here are my list of likes and dislikes. The steering wheel vibrated when braking at 30-40 miles per hour. The dealer had to resurface the rotor to correct the problem. The service dept said this can happen if the vehicle has been sitting for a while. No problem after repair. I love the Bose 6-disc sound system with subwoofer, its handling, braking system, interior/exterior design, etc. Dislikes - inaccurate computerized MPG - dealer said to re- evaluate after 1000 miles. Determining the length/width of the Murano when parking is tricky.

I'd avoided buying into the whole SUV lifestyle...until I met "Murray". What a delight this vechicle has turned out to be! The ride is excellent, the power generous despite the occassional report by others that the CVT drains the V6's power. My husband (a die-hard Ford pickup man) has admitted Murray has even won his heart...especially when he gets the opportunity to leave other folks in the dust with their mouths hanging open in surprise of the Murano's ability to get up and GO when asked. Some catch up just to see what just passed them...besides the smiling driver.

We looked at all the boxy suvs, the styling of this car is wonderful. There is a lot of room, both for passengers and cargo when you need it. We like the transmission, so quiet. Just drove it from Tucson to Seattle with no problems and appreciate the power. Nissan seems to have asked all the right questions to determine what features potential buyers would like..... and then incorporated them all very nicly in this suv.

I have had my Murano for little over a year now and still love to drive it! It is very comfortable and fun to drive, even for long distances. It has alot of leg room for both the front and rear passengers. We switched from a mini-van to the Murano and my kids love it! They are very comfortable with the room and really enjoy the rear seat recline feature- just enough to lean back and take a snooze when we're off and running. There are 2 things that I wish Nissan would change - I wish the Murano had an automatic door locking feature and better suspension. The gas mileage is so-so especially with the air on. Very happy with my purchase!

I've been a Ford man all my life, Dad owned a Ford Dealership and my wife works for Ford now. Decided to stray from the path and do not ever plan to go back. The Murano is such a step ahead of the Fords I have been driving. Mileage by far exceeds my previous models and the Power is extremely fun to drive. I tested a Mustang Gt before I bought this Murano, and the smile on my face was the same. The one add-on I would suggest is the K&N air filter. It increases my gas mileage and the Horsepower. I find myself going for drives on my noon hours, just to enjoy the car and get away from work. Its probably a sick thing to be in Love with your car this much. It won't fit on her side of the bed.

Overall this is an excellent automobile. I like the styling both outside and inside the car... BUT... I have had a terrible time with the gas mileage averaging only about 13.5- 14.2 MPG City, which have been calculated manually. I was told that there is a break in period of about 6000-6500 miles before you will see better mileage. I have 8000+ miles now and no improvement. This is where this car has really let me down. The only other complaint is that the ride is somewhat harsh over bumps and inconsistencies of the road surface.

What a great vehicle! It is extremely comfortable to drive with many customized adjustments to make the driving experience even better. The Bose sound system is top notch. There are so many features (for not a bad price) that I am still finding some of them. The CVT transmission takes some getting used to and can feel a little sluggish on cold mornings. Many auto touch features as well (headlights, cliamte, sunroof). Just a very fun vehicle to drive. Very solid construction, especially with the SE's sports suspension. Highly recommend it!

I have had a 2004 AWD LS for 13 months and 12,000 miles. Expect to buy new tires--often. Either the Murano has alignment problems or the 18" Goodyear LS tires are junk--and I couldn't find another tire manufacturer that makes the same size tires. I bought my first tire at 11,000 miles and will replace the others in a few thousand miles. This SUV: will lock you out of the car when it feels like it, wheel hops over highway divider strips, has power, is comfortable, looks different, generally handles well, does not rattle unless you leave the seatbelts unlocked, and can get over 20 mpg. I have owned 4 Nissans but will not buy another because of the tires stocked on the Murano.

Before I purchased my Murano, I was at the Lexus dealership about to purchase a Lexus GS 330 (my dream car). I decided on the Murano because the Lexus had no utility value. The Lexus RX 330 was a nice alternative however its styling was a bit girlish for me. The Murano provided me everthing I wanted (and more) in a car with the added utility value of a small truck. The Murano rides, handles and is more comfortable the many cars that I have owned in the past. The Bose sound system is execellent. The cabin is spacious and gobbles up whatever you put into it. I would not trade my Murano for anything else.

This is my first SUV. I had researched several crossovers, but this was the most comfortable. I have a lower back problem and the seat adjustments in the Murano were the best I had found. I drove this car from NY to DC and back twice since May and I was extremely comfortable both times. Also, there is an enormous amount of space for packing - I was able to fit all my son's items for college including a TV, a large trunk, computer equipment, clothes and several boxes. The radio is fabulous. The dealership in Smithtown is fair and accomdating.

I have had my SL AWD (liquid copper with black interior) for about 3 weeks an still love it. The drive is agile but still very comfortable thanks to the superb seats. The engine is large and very powerful and combined with the CVT outaccellerates just about any other SUV in the $40K price range. Great sound from the Bose system. Averaged 20.8 mpg in first 1000 miles in 50:50 city:highway driving.

I was not sure that I was going to actually make the purchase of my Murano. Yet while taking it for a test drive and to show it to my wife I was rear ended. Only a few scratches were on the bumper and one quarter sized dent on the tailgate. However the other driver was in a Isuzu Rodeo and had major damage done to the vehicle to the extent that it could not be driven. I still to the Murano and showed it to my wife with damage and all and explained what had happened. (My wife also drives a Isuzu Rodeo) Needless to say on returning to the dealership I picked out another Murano the just had come in that morning an immediately made the purchase thinking safety first.

I have had car 2 days and all I can say is Heaven. The ride is so smooth and the seats are so comfortable. Great feel and fun to drive. No road noise and Bose system is excellent. I enjoy the dash layout and sunroof. Fold down seats by handle in cargo is easy access. Intellikey was great idea. Will comment in future after owning it for a little while. Highly recommend! Got fantastic deal before 2006 comes out with little changes expected. I leased SL AWD with Touring pkg.

Great steering feel, transmission requires 200 miles befor it quiets down, tire noise also vanishes after 200 miles.

Purchased the sl awd model in july of '04. Wife has driven it now 21000 miles. It has averaged over an entire week 22-24 mpg that is city and highway driving combined. they told us when we purchased it that it wouldn't start getting its best mileage until about 10,000 miles and they were right. Love the ride and comfort, great stereo, and for an SUV I find it to be rather fun to drive and quite peppy. The CVT doesn't seem to sap that much power.

I am extremely happy with the puchase of my new Murano. The car looks great, drives powerfully and smothly and has a very comfortable interior. Rear storage space is important for me and the Murano delivers (although no where near what it repaced: an '88 Saab 900). Without a doubt, the exterior look is what seduced me- I noticed them on the road for months before my purchase. For me, the look is magic. Five cars ago I drove a Nisson 280 ZX- a fantastic automobile- Nissan simply makes great cars.

I have been very impressed with the vehicle as a whole. As with any vehicle, there are minor things I'd like to change (such as the inability to use the NAV system while driving) but overall, I love the car and highly recommend the SE version for the shifter. Not as much fun to drive as my Maxima, but no slouch for its size. (And it averages at 20MPG in the city, even at high altitude!)
