I'd avoided buying into the whole SUV lifestyle...until I met "Murray". What a delight this vechicle has turned out to be! The ride is excellent, the power generous despite the occassional report by others that the CVT drains the V6's power. My husband (a die-hard Ford pickup man) has admitted Murray has even won his heart...especially when he gets the opportunity to leave other folks in the dust with their mouths hanging open in surprise of the Murano's ability to get up and GO when asked. Some catch up just to see what just passed them...besides the smiling driver.

As my family is growing up and gas prices are soaring, I made the decision to trade my Expedition for a Murano and am very happy I did. The Murano has nice tight handling around my country roads. I do agree that the transmission intermitently become sluggish, but it is not intolerable. It is quiet and quick to stop. The milage continues to improve and the bells and whistles of my SL have been fun. The interior is roomier than it appears and I love the automatic/personalized seat adjustment. The cargo space is smaller than I am used to, but with the easy flip down of the seats I have been able to move furniture. It has taken time to get used to the car's blind spots.

I actually wanted another Maxima, I had previously owned four. However getting older I could no longer enter and exit the Maxie in comfort. The Murano fit the bill perfectly. Nissan quality, comfort and reliability. This car is a pleasure to drive and I get stares wherever I go. I think they do not know what kind of car it is.

What a great vehicle! It is extremely comfortable to drive with many customized adjustments to make the driving experience even better. The Bose sound system is top notch. There are so many features (for not a bad price) that I am still finding some of them. The CVT transmission takes some getting used to and can feel a little sluggish on cold mornings. Many auto touch features as well (headlights, cliamte, sunroof). Just a very fun vehicle to drive. Very solid construction, especially with the SE's sports suspension. Highly recommend it!

This is an impressive performer and a must-have vehicle for those who are interested in a mid-sized SUV. This one of the nicest Nissans that I have had the privilege to own and I plan to take good care of this gem. I hope to learn more about the many new features that this car has to offer. Now is the time for all prospective buyers to take the plunge, as the sales are on and take advantage now.

Before I purchased my Murano, I was at the Lexus dealership about to purchase a Lexus GS 330 (my dream car). I decided on the Murano because the Lexus had no utility value. The Lexus RX 330 was a nice alternative however its styling was a bit girlish for me. The Murano provided me everthing I wanted (and more) in a car with the added utility value of a small truck. The Murano rides, handles and is more comfortable the many cars that I have owned in the past. The Bose sound system is execellent. The cabin is spacious and gobbles up whatever you put into it. I would not trade my Murano for anything else.

I fell in love the very first time I saw it. At first I thought it would be a very expensive SUV for the sylish features it has, but when I saw the pricetag I was blown away and I called "dibs!" This vehichle is one of the best interiors as well as exteriors that I have seen and it looks very classy and is a smooooooth ride. The CVT is awesome and still has get up and go power! The rear seat has an enormous amount of room and is very comfortable with the reclining seats. I am amazed by all of the standard features that would normally cost extra in other vehichles. Way to go Nissan!

No way does the CVT get in the way! I drive on crowded highways in terrible traffic and more than once I have been able to avoid erratic drivers by quickly stepping on the gas and getting out of the way. The pick up is incredible and has saved me more than once! The ride is smooth and if we wanted 3 rows of seats, there were other options out there. Maybe Edmunds should think about all the empty nesters buying this car that don't want that third row. We enjoy the roominess of only 2 rows!

Just bought my S type. Love the ride! Very comfortable suv. More interior room than my old Explorer. Don't know much about economy or reliability yet but expecting the best. Things I wish my S type had - fog lights, automatic headlights, and a 6 disc changer. Couldn't see paying $5,000 more for the other models that include these features.

Sporty Luxury

This car is pretty luxurious for not being a "luxury car." The 245hp is quite nice, especially compared to my last car -- a 150hp Honda. I never thought that an SUV could be fun to drive, but thanks to the power, it's sure fun to stomp on the accelerator! The CVT helps provide an amazingly smooth ride without lurching for gear changes. The exterior styling turns heads, and the HID lamps really light up the road ahead. The height of the cabin is perfect for an effortless entrance and egress, while the leather heated seats are soft to the touch, but firm in support. The interior is quite spacious and with real aluminum trim gives the feel of sporty luxury.

Just purchased 05 Murano SL AWD after ext research/test drives, in Volvo/Lexus/Honda/Subaru 06 Tribeca. Vehicle so far beyond expectations after having for approx 2 weeks. Amenities SUPER, ride comfort exceeds others, handling supurb, no exterior noise, gas mileage avg 20.9, not had on trip yet to see mileage. For AWD SUV we're thrilled with mpg so far, will get better as engine loosens. HIGHLY suggest buying this SUV, if you have couple kids, think it over 1st, perfect for 2 people and family of 3-4 tops. Test drove the above 4 seperate times before our final decision. For the $$$ this SUV a HIDDEN TREASURE, we owned Honda/Toyota SUV's. Great product Nissan! Dave & Deb from NE Pa

My Murano SE has firm, almost still sporty European ride. Love the interior roominess. Love the CVT - smooth acceleration without the shifting.

When I decided I wanted to buy an SUV I was stuck beween the Pilot and Murano. I decided to buy the murano because of both the gas milage and the standard features. The murano has tons of standard features that most other SUV do not offer in their base model. Such as alloy wheels and the computer system, dual air, wrapped steering wheel and over sized 18" tires. I love the way it drives, I feel like I am back in my old Altima. Its a SUV with class! I feel like I am driving a very expensive vehicle not a base model Nissan. The CVT transmission drives great, just wish it gave a little more power!

I initially enjoyed the car until it began to have problems at about 58,000 miles replaced airflow meter $900, then the kicker, at 94,000 miles had to replace the CVT transfer case at $4500. had a 100,000 mile warranty from purchase...it refused to cover the transfer case. The car is very costly!!! I now owe more on the car than what it is worth.

One awesome crossover SUV...wanted a reliable crossover or SUV that is comfortable for a big person to drive...not only is it comfortable inside, but height lets you literally slide in and out of vehicle. Ride is very smooth, peppy engine...almost got a ticket the first day! Exterior design is very unique and attention grabbing...not like every other car in the parking lot! AWD SL w/ Touring pkg gives you everything you would want. Controls are easy to use and in good reach and location. Seats are very comfortable in front...ok in back. BOSE system is absolutely fantastic. Had it 10 days and just can't find anything not to like! Nissan quality!

I traded a Jeep Grand Cherokee for my Murano after a lot of research. I could not be happier. I live in serious snow country (300" a year) and put a lot of miles on my car in the summer. I blasted through 12" of snow on my way home. No problem. The car handles great and gets plenty of looks. Pickup in any situation is very good. Very comfortable and quiet riding. My wife thinks it looks like her old Gremlin. I wish I had bought the full feature version with all the fun stuff. This is a great car.

Formerly a 328i owner, I wanted something that had more space but didn't compromise function for fashion, nor quality for character. For me, the Murano definitely has the space and quality I was looking for and the leather package added all the extras I might have missed in the BMW. Unfortunately, the standard- issue CVT transmission was a let-down but the ability to shift into sport- mode has me back in the fast lane.

I just picked up my new 2005 Murano 3 days ago. After owning 2 Lexus RX 300's, I was hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. I had nothing to worry about! This one is a gem. Not only do I find the car pleasing to the eye, it has a luxurious feel inside and out. As compared to my Lexus, it has even more "toys" and so far I am getting slightly better gas mileage (19mpg...all city driving so far). I'd highly encourage anyone shopping for this size SUV to test drive a Murano. Fot the price, I don't think you can beat it.

I started searching for a small SUV to replace my wife's old 03 Outback. I had narrowed my choices down between the rav4 & crv. After finding that the rav4 equipped the way we wanted wasn't a good deal, I was sure the crv would be the car. We happened to checkout the new rogue, but we weren't impressed with it. My wife however, liked the Murano. After realizing it was MUCH bigger than it looks, we took one for a spin, and liked the overall feel. We went to look at the crv, and did not like it, so we went back and got a murano. MPG is good IMO for a V6 SUV. We've had the car for over 2 weeks now, and consistently avg about 20-21 mpg with mostly "city" (stop lights) driving. Great car!

Stylish, comfortable, well laid out, really good SUV fuel encomy. We evaluated many other SUVs but felt cross-overs were a better choice for our life style. Of the cross-overs, the Murano was a clear standout for us, even compared to more expensive models like the Lexus RX330 and the VW Toureg V6.

I previously leased 2 Ford Explorers and with the lease on my Explorer about to end I decided that I wanted to purchase something reliable and smaller than an Explorer since I live in NYC and have to find parking every night. The Murano is perfect because it's roomy inside (It actually has alot more passenger legroom in the backseat than the Explorer) but it's not an overgrown SUV. The Murano has a car like drive and it's easy to handle. I'm so glad I decided to purchase the Murano and it's definitely something that my family can grow into.

My 2005 Nissan Murano has a great engine, especially with the 245 hp and the transmission using belts rather than gears. It is as smooth as silk. The SE Supension really holds the road and on the freeway or City streets it is very smooth. We are looking forward to the Mexico trip to see how well it handles We expect to be all smiles. The SE Supension is simular to a sports car but not rough. The Power is very good from the 3.5 V6 and the CVT transmission is amasing. I had a Chrysler PT Cruiser which I loved but it sat low so I wanted something that was higher and safer living in the Denver Metro Area where SUV's and Trucks outnumber regular cars about 4 to 1. I kept my Crusier because I thought I wouldn't want to drive a SUV all the time. Well, the Nissan Murano is so sweet, so easy to drive, unique in style compared to others and a dream on ice and snow, I never drove my Cruiser. Even my "duck hunting" husband, who has a 4-door 4X4 Jimmy loves the Murano. I'm impressed with Nissan. I didn't have to take it back for one thing from the day I got it, no detail problem, no mechanical. I get plenty of power so I don't understand your comments. This AWD SUV Rocks!

When looking to purchase a vehicle, I looked at the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and the Lexus RX 330. I ended up with a 2005 Nissan Murano SL. As far as I am concerned it is a luxurious vehicle, fun, and very sharp looking. My husband owns a Mercedes and he loves driving my Murano. I think some vehicles are overrated because of their brand image, but I'm happy with my choice. The ride is great. It drives as smoothly as my husband's vehicle, if not smoother. I am one happy customer.

This is a great crossover SUV. Ride is great, handling is more sporty than most others in class. Standard features list is impressive. Room inside will shock you. Lots of power on tap. CVT is nice but takes a little snap away from an otherwise strong drivetrain. Manuverability is excellent. Interior feels very rich and luxurious. Definitley look at this vehicle in your search.

This is my first SUV. I had researched several crossovers, but this was the most comfortable. I have a lower back problem and the seat adjustments in the Murano were the best I had found. I drove this car from NY to DC and back twice since May and I was extremely comfortable both times. Also, there is an enormous amount of space for packing - I was able to fit all my son's items for college including a TV, a large trunk, computer equipment, clothes and several boxes. The radio is fabulous. The dealership in Smithtown is fair and accomdating.

I have had my SL AWD (liquid copper with black interior) for about 3 weeks an still love it. The drive is agile but still very comfortable thanks to the superb seats. The engine is large and very powerful and combined with the CVT outaccellerates just about any other SUV in the $40K price range. Great sound from the Bose system. Averaged 20.8 mpg in first 1000 miles in 50:50 city:highway driving.

I was not sure that I was going to actually make the purchase of my Murano. Yet while taking it for a test drive and to show it to my wife I was rear ended. Only a few scratches were on the bumper and one quarter sized dent on the tailgate. However the other driver was in a Isuzu Rodeo and had major damage done to the vehicle to the extent that it could not be driven. I still to the Murano and showed it to my wife with damage and all and explained what had happened. (My wife also drives a Isuzu Rodeo) Needless to say on returning to the dealership I picked out another Murano the just had come in that morning an immediately made the purchase thinking safety first.

I have had car 2 days and all I can say is Heaven. The ride is so smooth and the seats are so comfortable. Great feel and fun to drive. No road noise and Bose system is excellent. I enjoy the dash layout and sunroof. Fold down seats by handle in cargo is easy access. Intellikey was great idea. Will comment in future after owning it for a little while. Highly recommend! Got fantastic deal before 2006 comes out with little changes expected. I leased SL AWD with Touring pkg.

Great steering feel, transmission requires 200 miles befor it quiets down, tire noise also vanishes after 200 miles.

Purchased the sl awd model in july of '04. Wife has driven it now 21000 miles. It has averaged over an entire week 22-24 mpg that is city and highway driving combined. they told us when we purchased it that it wouldn't start getting its best mileage until about 10,000 miles and they were right. Love the ride and comfort, great stereo, and for an SUV I find it to be rather fun to drive and quite peppy. The CVT doesn't seem to sap that much power.
